Roadwork | Richard Bachman

Mehso-so

In some ways, this story feels very dated; however, the plot could easily be ripped from today's headlines. Angry man suffering mental health issues begins amassing guns, ammunition and explosives with a plan to use them--all to prove a point. This was certainly not a great novel, but I did find it incredibly frightening because there are so many incidents like this happening all over the US right now. 😡🖕💣💥🧨 #stephenking #pseudonym #bachman

I am returning to my #epicstephenking reread! I am now in 1977, when our dearly beloved Steve created Richard Bachman. I ADORE Bachman books. Rage is the only one I have not read, and that is where I will start! I'm also excited to read King's preface about being Bachman. *giddy school girl squeals and giggles*

TricksyTails I just restarted my own King reread! I'm only up to Rage and just diving into Night Shift. Looooong way to go. 😆 Have fun on your reread! 7y

Josie @tricksytails yay!!!! It‘s so much fun. I‘m in the middle of Different Seasons right now. I took about a month break from the reread but I‘m moving forward now!!! 7y
TricksyTails I'm loving how it's a very different experience this time around than when I was a frightened kid! Still scary but even more connected with the characters now. Are you doing the TV shows and movies too? I've hit a bit of a reading slump so my progress has been slow. Horrible timing. I love spooky reads in October! 7y
Josie @tricksytails I‘m not watching the movies or tv shows. I have a 2 year old, and she dominates the tv lol so when I do get downtime, I use it to read. Also, I have learned that I don‘t really enjoy watching any adaptations right after I finish reading the book. I get bored very easily because I remember so clearly what happened. I usually wait a couple of months 7y
TricksyTails Hahaha same. Me watching TV/movie adaptation: *jabs finger at screen* "That is NOT what happened in the book!" Very guilty of this during Game of Thrones. Besides, the book is always better. ? I look forward to your reread updates!! 7y
Josie @tricksytails hahahaha my mom does the same thing with GOT. I actually haven‘t read them yet, but I bought the first one over the weekend! I look forward to your reread updates too! Yay for new Litsy friends!!!! 7y
TricksyTails ? You haven't read them yet? I wish I could experience them for the first time again. Just be prepared to curse GRRM many times throughout the book. I can't tell you how many times I threw the book down thinking "Why? Why? How could you?" Heh what can I say? I get really invested into the characters. ? Yes! Yay for new Litsy friends! Now I'll be on the lookout for your GOT updates. ? 7y
