Starting this. Took the tiny gremlins on a walk. We still had some sunshine in our freezing wasteland lol taking full advantage. Reading in the yard with my baby bear snuggled on me is the best.

Opera teatrale che prosegue la storia da dove abbiamo lasciato i nostri eroi, avvincente e affascinante è una lettura molto piacevole.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ This lacks the magical essence of the novels, but I imagine the play is exquisite. I‘m not a big fan of time travel and would love to see how it‘s conveyed on stage. Seeing the original friends as adults was fun, but young Scorpius stole the show for me.

AvidReader25 I had the chance to see both parts in NYC last year and it was incredible! You‘re right, Scorpius was the best. (edited) 5y
Scochrane26 I don‘t consider this part of the series. I would like to see the play. 5y
bernadette I had mixed feelings about Rowling continuing the story and didn't want to read it. I took my daughter to the play and we both absolutely loved it. I'm not sure I would have liked reading the script but to see the magic on stage was wonderful. And I thought the play showed why Harry was special while letting the story be about the next generation. I adored Scorpius. 5y

britt_brooke @Scochrane26 I agree. It shouldn‘t be considered the eighth story. Have you read the Fantastic Beasts screenplays? 5y
britt_brooke @AvidReader25 @bernadette Envious!! I bet it was fantastic! 5y
Scochrane26 @britt_brooke No. I do have the quidditch through the ages, fantastic beast, & tales of Beedle the bard books. They were sold for charity. I like Beedle the Bard & they do cool shows of the stories at HP world. 5y
britt_brooke @Scochrane26 Oh fun! We‘re hoping to go to HP World this summer (if all the craziness settles down). 5y
AvidReader25 @bernadette I felt the same! Seeing it performed was completely different than reading the play. 5y

Super excited I made it through play #1. Super fun to see on stage with all the magic and clever theatrics. Also a great story about friendship and family and most of all acceptance. 🧙🏻‍♀️Lol and lots of people in costume representing their Hogwart‘s houses.

Not many people enjoyed this...out of those that I‘ve talked to. Of course nothing beats the classic series itself, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was entertaining to read. You get a chance to see where the past characters are now, and a story to follow of their children.

Comment down below if you liked this book or not!

Bklover I think the problem I had with this one is it made me very nervous. The whole time I read it I was worried that it would ruin my mental image of “after the books”. Sometimes it‘s more fun to leave some things to your imagination. Having said that, I did enjoy it 🤨😉 6y

I struggled at first. Maybe because it‘s a play-script and I‘ve never read one before, so the style took some getting used to. But after finishing it, I would have loved to have seen this in person! I mean, it‘s Harry Potter! Duh.

I enjoyed this screen play. It was very easy to read and the story was thought out and stayed true to the other books. I do think more could have been done with it but I also realize it wasn't meant to be a book as the others were. Like some I am disappointed to know that Scorpious & Albus probably won't wind up together but I'll still marvel at people's Scorbus art anyways. #HarryPotter #fantasy

For anyone who has read the Harry Potter series this is a must read if only to find out where the characters are at. However, while a good story, it doesn‘t have the same feel as the original series (not counting its written in a play format).

FeastOfFiction Was it hard to keep track of characters since they don‘t look like the movie characters? 6y
alisiakae @kaylamburson We waited outside the stage door, about 8 of the main cast members came out to sign playbills! @feastoffiction Not at all! I was familiar with all the actors already, since they were mostly the original London cast that I have been following since the West End release! But even so, they played the characters perfectly, and a few of the resemblances were uncanny! 6y

Last night the Cursed Child won a Tony Award for best play. I know there is some division in the potterworld about this being part of the HP canon. I say hogwash. J.K.Rowling wrote the story and gave them her blessing on the play. How could it not be canon if the person who created the world wrote this story? Just my 2 cents. While it wasn't the continuation of the story as I imagined it, I did still enjoy it. I would love to see the play someday.

I was disappointed, this didn‘t have the magical feel of being in the wizardry world. Nothing stood out to me, and everything seemed to just happen, eliciting no response from the audience. It felt like some characters were thrown in there only to appease the original Harry Potter fans, but it was almost cheesy. The plot was merely “okay”, didn‘t quite connect to any characters, overall giving it a score of 3.

Odanak Thanks for the honesty 7y

I was skeptical to read this book because it was in play form . But once I became involved in the story I didn‘t really notice . I found this book a bit depressing but realistic about what would have happened after the battle at hogwarts and everyone‘s children grew up . Generally I enjoyed this .

It took me awhile to get through this book. I had to put it down and then restart it later. It was barely interesting and I had to force myself to finish it. It didn‘t give me those special “Wizarding World” feels. The only thing that this book did was made me interested in seeing the play.
