#52Books52Weeks #ByaComedian Listening to Leslie Jordan shares his stories was a bit bittersweet since his unexpected passing. And Lady Chatterley‘s Lover #BannedBook was ok, at least I can say I read it 🤷🏻♀️
Loved my other 3 books.

“I think the greatest gift my mother gave me was my love of reading.”

This audio book was read by Jordan. I loved listening to him read his stories (we moved away from NC 12 years ago & I miss getting to hear Southern people talk). I loved hearing about his life (still so sad that he passed away)& the acceptance of his family. I loved Jordan when he was on Will & Grace. Not only was he a great entertainer but a passionate advocate (I loved his talk of working with Project Nightlight). #bookspin book
What a lovely soul Leslie Jordan had. I loved, more than anything, that his family embraced his homosexuality from day one and never asked him to be anything else. His storytelling is so rich and detailed that I felt like I was in the room with the folks he was talking about. ❤️❤️❤️
I did not expect to listen to Leslie Jordan talk about how moved he was by one of my favorite books in the universe!!! I haven't met anyone else who's read this but it's so wonderful to hear Leslie speaking so animatedly about these characters who feel like family to me!!! 😍😍😍😍
This is so wonderful and heartbreaking!!! A light snuffed too soon... Leslie Jordan was just the most incredibly adorable man. 💔
Leslie Jordan is an amazing actor, comedian, and all around wonderful human! Admittedly, I haven‘t seen all of his work. As this book proves, he‘s acted in A TON of television shows and movies! Leslie opens the book by talking about his use of Instagram and how he entertained people during COVID. As a fan of American Horror Story, I loved his stories about working with Jessica Lange and Lady Gaga.

Well shit! Why did Leslie have to leave us so soon? I love memoirs read by their authors and this one needs to be listened to bc no one can emphasize his stories like Leslie could. Loved this. He seemed so happy with where his life was and was so astonished of how he became an instant follow on Instagram by many of us during the pandemic. He is a storyteller.
I‘m sitting at the melting pot, playing with my phone, and realize I didn‘t post my #jolabokaflodswap pic! I have the card at home, so I‘ll tag it later! Thank you to @MaleficentBookDragon for organizing! I love this book, it‘s so bittersweet, but I can‘t wait to read it!
Jordan was a sweet soul, and his goodness will he missed. A short read with some cute, light-hearted stories. It certainly wasn‘t a deep dive into his life, but it gave us a glimpse of how he looked at the world.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Listening to this one with a heavy heart, but Leslie Jordan continues to make ppl smile. #currentlylistening
I was introduced to Leslie Jordan via his Instagram account after he died. I listened to his audiobook while cooking this week and was happy to find it filled with the same grace and humor.
My sister & I went to Ohio for 2 days so she could visit a friend of hers. She rarely likes audiobooks, but I knew she would like this one. We both love Leslie Jordan. I gave the physical book 4 stars last year, but the audio narrated by him makes it even better. #reread
He was a funny man.
He was delightful! Obviously I opted for the audio since he narrated 😁
I was lucky enough to see Leslie Jordan at The National Book Festival. He was delightful with a capital D and I cannot believe I was not following him on Instagram. I loved the warm relationship he shared with Megan Mullally and the banter they had. I‘m genuinely sad the world has lost him. His presence was a gift.
Who isn't a fan of this gorgeous man?! Rhetorical question I know. This book was everything I was hoping it would be, I loved hearing Leslie's memories told to us in ways only he can. I read every word with his Southern accent in my head. This book was such a pick me up read. I particularly found the story about him wanting a doll for Christmas heartwarming. I hope he writes more books 😍 it was such a fun read ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Listening to this book was like sitting down with an old friend. So many times I laughed out loud and fell in love with Leslie Jordan a little more!!
This is a sweet, heartwarming read that is funny as hell. We could all stand to be a little more like Leslie. He may ask himself, “what would Dolly do?” but I think I‘m going to start asking myself, “what would Leslie do?” As if I didn‘t already adore Leslie Jordan, I love him even more after hearing him read this. What a kind and funny soul. 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
I love Leslie Jordan, and I‘ve been looking for just the right time to give this a listen. Guess what... that time is right now!!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 This was fun. Basically exactly what you expect it to be. The audiobook was lovely company for puttering around over the weekend.
Hand down one of the most joyous, fun reads I‘ve encountered lately. 🥰

First book of the New Year finished. Such a fun, easy to read memoir from someone who seems so kindhearted and good.
If you get a chance, listen to this as an audiobook. He narrates it himself and just listening to his voice makes you smile. Such a warm, kind heart 💛
Do I occasionally get my toddler to play hide and seek with me so I can grab a couple pages worth of reading time in my hiding spot? Yes, yes I do.

So much love for Leslie! Audio is for sure the only way to go on this on imo🥰
🎄: 1
I wasn't sure about this one, but I laughed out loud a lot. It's definitely an audio pick. Listening to Leslie Jordan tell his stories is pure joy, I don't think reading it in print would have matched the experience. 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
4th book for #OutstandingOctober (18:46:32) @Andrew65
3rd book for #ReadWithUs (9:33:53) @DieAReader @GHABI4ROSES
I‘ve been a fan of Leslie‘s since Will & Grace. This book was more amusing than funny to me, but there were a few laugh-out-loud moments. All in all, I enjoyed it! #librofm
A short gallop through the joyful & garrulous Leslie Jordan‘s brain. My favorite chapter was “The Bride Doll” (in which he unintentionally disfigures his sisters‘ doll by trying to make her look like Twiggy, throws her out the window, & then periodically “checks on her body”…”like a serial killer” until she‘s found). My favorite phrase was “all of this brouhaha made me extremely squirrelly.” Jordan‘s a natural storyteller & he feels like a friend.
Book 173
Short, sweet and narrated by the authors wonderful voice. He gave a great quick history of his life sprinkled with some celeb memories but it was not funny at all and I totally thought it would be.
So, I finished How Y‘all Doing? today. It was a nice and mostly fun book. Like the Dolly Parton book I listened to, it felt conversational, and I liked that aspect. Leslie Jordan seems like he‘d be a fun person to know. Now I need a new walking book. Anyone read anything funny and/or light recently? Or read a cozy mystery that would make a good walking book?
It‘s back to Leslie Jordan for my walks. It‘s been awhile because I decided to finish up Synchronized Sorcery for my last walk, and when I went to the beach and walked, I didn‘t feel like listening to anything but the waves. I‘m in a more serious section now where he‘s talking about what AIDS was like in the 80s. I remember that so well. #audiowalk
I enjoyed listening to Leslie Jordan's stories. It wasn't quite as entertaining as I thought it would be, but I'm not sure why. It was still good, though.
LOVED THIS 💚💚💚What a delightful way to spend a few hours this afternoon 🎧Leslie Jordon is CHARMING and absolutely HILARIOUS 😆 I laughed out loud so many times. Thanks for putting this on my #ReadersRadar @britt_brooke 😘
Leslie Jordan's autobiography was super cute. I enjoyed hearing all about Truman Capote, straight man standoffs, and reclaiming joy post-Pulse. Jordan shares highs and lows from a life well-lived indeed. Beverly Leslie will always be one of my favorite television characters.
I heard this was good, so it‘s my new walking book. I‘m on chapter three and it‘s been fun so far. I love his narration. #audiowalk
I enjoyed this one quite a bit, but I was already a fan. I loved Jordan on Will & Grace, and I even thought the short-lived The Cool Kids was fun. He is a natural storyteller and I definitely recommend this one on audio.
This was a fun a read with wise words dropped throughout the book.
