I can‘t copy the whole book for #HalloweenPoetryMatters but #Broom made me think of this book. I love the rhyming in this, and had to read it a lot when I used to babysit my friends children 🤣

This would be a great Halloween book to have in the classroom for younger children to read. I would love to put it on a spotlight/seasonal bookshelf in my classroom and read it to the whole class as well!
Speculative fiction. Published 2003. This is a cute story about a witch who flies through the sky on her broomstick until the wind picks up and blows away all of her things. Three animals help her find her items and run into many other problems down the road. This story is built around problem and solution and cause and effect. It is a great silly read especially around Halloween time.
Room on the Broom is a children's fiction book published in 2001. It is about a witch that is flying around and has new passengers join her on her broom. It is a great rhyming book and sequencing book. I thought it was fun to read and i think any elementary age student would enjoy reading this.
Published in 2001, Room on the Broom is a great story to read around Halloween. This story would be great to tie into a rhyming lesson. The story has tons of different rhyming words on each page and would be great to read to young children. It is not a very long story and would keep a child's attention throughout it. This is a story about a witch who flies around and picks up many different animals on her broom.
Posting last week‘s points this week as well: 410+ (we did a lot of crafts and I read 6 books)
This week I think I figured out how to calculate all the points a little bit better: 1,350+ (13 bucket lists, 12 picture books with the babies, team read and 6 more books, plus 5 movies, a collection of short stories, and 25 spooky words)
1,760 for this week! #teammonstermash #scarathlon
@StayCurious
Read this book to my little one last night, great children‘s book and great way to get more points.🖤🎃🧡 #scarathlon #teamslaughter
I didn‘t love this one, but I wouldn‘t discount it as seasonal reading for young kids who don‘t like to be scared. #Scarathlon2022 #TeamMonsterMash @StayCurious #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks #Spookoween2022 @TheSpineView #31by31 @Catsandbooks #PointsAThon @dieareader @GHABI4ROSES #witchathon @mdm139
Oh how I loved this one! The simple rhyming, the cute story, and the colorful illustrations. Witch flies through the sky on a broom and collects various animals on the way. This may be better for a slightly older audience, as I could see a younger child becoming scared over the dragon that makes an appearance. #PictureBook Letter R #BBRC
A favorite in our house! 🧹

Our library Halloween theme will be Room on the Broom and I get to make wands to hand out to kids!!!

When I studied English Linguistics I did a presentation on Scots so of course this got a squee out of me 😍 There‘s a reading on BBC Scotland if you‘re interested: https://www.bbc.co.uk/events/eqvwxj/play/awbd9r/p08wtkmz
There is always room for one more.
#Scarathlon #TeamHarkness @StayCurious 16 points 90 points for game.
Had to run an errand to the store with the hubby and while waiting on him I got some quick reads in. I also read the tagged book, but I guess my picture didn't actually take. Epic fail on my part. 🤷♀️

@JoScho I cannot describe how perfect this print is! It captures my lapsed Catholic soul & vaguely-Pagan present so aptly! I‘ve got some deep-diving to do on St. Melangell: time to fall into a “rabbit hole”, if you will. 😉🐇🙏🏻🍃
Thank you so much!

One of my favorite part of having the kiddos is the awesome books out there. We‘ve found some great Halloween ones, and of course I couldn‘t pass up the one with twins!
Here‘s a beginning of the week reminder that your package should be sent out by the 25th !!! Make sure to tag me in your posts that show you sent them! Thanks so much! Hope everyone‘s October is going spooktacular! 🖤🖤🖤 #basicwitchswap
I will tag everyone in the comments who I have not seen a post from yet! Just let me know if it‘s been sent or not . Thank you!
Was excited to come across this at Dollarama, since I remember @Linsy posting about it a few days ago. It was a cute story, and the illustrations were lovely. A steal of a deal for only $1.50. Too bad it had paper pages, otherwise I would‘ve picked up a copy for my friends new babe. 🖤 #TeamSlaughter #nontheme
My kid and I love this book so much! He was excited to hold this book in his hands, as we usually experience it digitally. It‘s just so cute! And perfect for the season. 🧹🍂✨

I loved this animated version of the book! It's the story of a kind witch who invites other animals onto her broom. Her cat is not amused. With Gillian Anderson.

Cute; seasonal; clever. Good vocabulary choices. Good use of the folklore trope "protagonist helps characters who repay the favor later on" in a contemporary story. Very clever ending as the witch gets a new "modern" broomstick.
This one proves the exception to the rule: forced rhymes can sometimes get published.
Pretty impressed with my broom doodle, tbh. 💁♀️

A little Room on the Broom fun in the art room today before we start making witch feet 💫
#WitchyPSA: It‘s that time of year again! Please, be respectful of your fellow flyers. Keep an eye out for falling houses. And remember sisters, there is ALWAYS “Room on the Broom”! Never substitute with a #Vacuum!🙅🏻♀️

This a great Halloween read aloud. It was also made into a TV movie but I haven‘t seen it.

Day 9: #broom
I use this book every year in first grade art. I have a stuffed witch from the book at school.
The witch and her cat are happily flying through the sky on a broomstick when the wind picks up and blows away the witch's hat, then her bow, and then her wand! Luckily, three helpful animals find the missing items, and all they want in return is a ride on the broom. But is there room on the broom for so many friends? #broom #newhogwartsadventure

“But just as he planned to begin his feast, from out of a ditch rose a horrible beast.” I love this childrens book and the animated movie too! #onceuponatime #beast @Linsy
My favorite Halloween F picture book to RA! This rhyming silly story is a good intro to rhyming!
http://roomonthebroom.com/ has lots of fun activities and lesson plans to help incorporate this story into your units. #ucflae3414f17
Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson, illustrated by Axel Scheffler is a F picture book about a kind witch who makes a few friends every time she drops one of her things as she‘s flying on her broom. She finds room on her broom for all her new friends who come to her rescue when a situation arises at the end. This book could be a RA, but I think it would make a fun DR.

Whether you have young kids or not, do get some Julia Donaldson & Alex Scheffler in your life! All of their books are simply delightful tales with meaningful messages and the illustrations enchanting! We have nearly all of them and just ❤️.
Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler, this is a funny rhyming and sequence book that keeps students engage. This is MF, that I would use SR. This is about a kind witch and her cat, the witch drops different items and they have to go down to find the item, each time another animal finds the item and asks to join the kind witch. The witch says yes and they all get on the broom.
I haven‘t been reading for me nearly as much as I‘d like to, need to, should, but I always make time to read to the kiddo. Thankfully, things are slowing down and I can selfishly indulge again.
Currently, I‘m adoring these two Halloween 🎃 books and we included them on Pippa‘s Corner over at the blog!
This just came up on my timeline from 6 years ago!! Daniel was 5 and Sophie just 18 months 💕❤️📚
I haven't read to anyone in ages. 😔
When I used to babysit my friends little girl, these were her favourites to read with me.
(I know these are late, but I am finishing this challenge! 😋)
