"Fresh, fun and romantic."SARAH MORGAN, USA Today bestselling author of A Wedding in December How the moose (almost) stole Christmas. Lana Montgomery is everything the quirky small town of Moose Springs, Alaska can't stand: a rich socialite with dreams of changing things for the better. But Lana's determined to prove that she belongs...even if it means trading her stilettos for snow boots and tracking one of the town's hairiest Christmas mysteries: the Santa Moose, an antlered Grinch hell-bent on destroying every bit of holiday cheer (and tinsel) it can sink its teeth into. And really...how hard could it be? The last few years have been tough on Rick Harding, and it's not getting any easier now that his dream girl's back in town. When Lana accidentally tranquilizes him instead of the Santa Moose, it's clear she needs help, fast...and this could be his chance to finally catch her eye. It's an all-out Christmas war, but if they can nab that darn moose before it destroys the town, Rick and Lana might finally find a place where they both belong...together. Readers are falling in love with The Tourist Attraction: "Utterly charminga delightful debut."LAUREN LAYNE, New York Times bestselling author of the Central Park Pact series "An enchanting romcom debut! I loved it." TERI WILSON, award-winning author of The Accidental Beauty Queen "After reading Sarah Morgenthaler's darling debut, I wanted to hop a plane to Alaska and find my own grumpy cinnamon roll hero!"MELONIE JOHNSON, award-winning author of Smitten by the Brit "Prediction: Readers will stampede to Alaska looking for The Tourist Trap and their own Graham after they read the first chapter of The Tourist Attraction. Sarah Morgenthaler's Alaska is so vivid and amusing that it really should be a real place in the world!"SARINA BOWEN, USA Today bestselling author of the True North series

Lana is too busy with her family's real estate and construction company to slow down in life, but really likes the time she spends in Moose Springs, Alaska. The townspeople don't like her, though, as they don't take kindly to how her company is changing their town. Nothing she does in her attempt to win them over seems to work.

Cute, but too long. So many tangents. And issues are solved too quickly. This is more a #romance of two people dating than an actual sunshine/big city businesswoman wins over grump/small town business owner.

OMG! I might just bail on this book because of what happened!!

He asks if she wants red or white wine. Then says he can make a rosé by mixing the red and white!! THAT IS NOT ROSE! And that‘s what she chose to drink!

I just can‘t.

By no means a terrible book, but these types of books just aren't for me. They all just seem the same. There has to be a strong storyline to reel me in, and this one didn't have that for me.

Loved this follow up to the town of Moose Springs. I enjoyed learning more about Lana. And I thought Rick was a much sweeter love interest than Graham. This was full of the fun small town antics you've come to expect, including a moose hell-bent on destroying Christmas decorations.

This was a cute rom-com set in Alaska, the 2nd book in the Moose Springs series. Lana is part of an extremely wealthy family company but really wants a place she belongs. Rick owns the pool hall & thinks he‘s not good enough for her. There‘s an adorable hedgehog & other animals. Now I‘ll have to go back & read the 1st book—those characters are often in this one, too. 26pts #mistletoemaniacs @Clwojick #wintergames

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ◼️ I didn‘t think this would be better than the first in the series. I loved loved Rick and Lana‘s story. It was fresh and and fun and oh so romantic. It was a little lighthearted with just the right amount of drama. It left me wanting more. This single girl may just have to move to Alaska!!!!!!! #bookspin for December!!!! #December #LitsyLove

This one wasn‘t as engaging as the first book. Lana was a better supporting character than a MC. And the romance between her and Rick never felt real, and it definitely didn‘t suck me in or make me root for them. Honestly, I would‘ve shrugged had the book ended without them ending up together.

For 5 years, I lived in an apartment smack dab in the middle of a touristy public space so I was drawn to this series about tourists vs local. And Alaska seems a good place to ride out the Polar Vortex! Is it memorable or award worthy? No. But, the characters are likable and it‘s a easy read when that‘s what you desire. The tagged is my #BookSpin (except for some holiday decor, it‘s barely a holiday read), but I liked book 1 a tad better

TheAromaofBooks This series is on my TBR!! 4y

I think I liked The Tourist Attraction a bit more than this one. This book definitely didn‘t need to be nearly 400 pages long. I found that it picked up in the last 3rd of the book. But I didn‘t find Lana and Rick nearly as entertaining as Zoey and Graham. Still not a bad book. Just not great.

4* Good but I enjoyed #1 in this series a lot more. While the main characters differ, previous ones reappear. Still a great example of a modern closed door romance, one with a powerful female lead. #3 publishes this next week.

I haven‘t read this but it sounds like a Hallmark movie so it‘s going on the TBR. It‘s part of a series but I don‘t know if they have to be read in order.

#Mistletoe #SleightheShelves

TEArificbooks They seem to be structured like the Virgin River novels - one book is about one couple finding love in the town and you see the previous couples in each book. This is only the second book so you can probably read out of order. I read the first one and am starting this one today. 4y
MallenNC @mdm139 Thanks, that is good to know! I like series like that that are linked but not necessarily read in order. 4y

MallenNC @OriginalCyn620 I just found it searching for a book for this prompt! That‘s what happened with Serious Moonlight too. I may pick this one up soon. I haven‘t read any seasonal books yet this year. 4y

Book 2 in the Moose Springs, Alaska series and I loved it just as much! Lana is the hardworking daughter of a powerful, rich business family, but she‘s fallen in love with Moose Springs. She wants the best for the town, even if they resent her. Rick is a struggling pool hall owner, living with his nephew, a grumpy cat, and a spoiled hedgehog. Can their fling grow into more? I mean...yes!

This was perfect Thanksgiving-road-trip book! Love the characters and the description of the town. This is book 2 of a 3-book series (book 3 coming in Jan 2021). I read book 1 after I read Mistletoe & Mr. Right because I really enjoyed the characters. It was pretty clean ounce you get past the first couple pages with a few choice words thrown in here and there...which almost don‘t fit. Anyway, fun easy read that transports you to Alaska!

Second in a series set in a small town in Alaska. The two main characters both likes each other from the start and admitted it and didn‘t really have an obstacle. The real issue was with business and the town, which is different for a romance novel.

Love the premise, love the characters, like the humour, but find the writing style really tough to get swept away by. I liked it more than the first book - because the hero isn't an alphahole & I understood why he & the heroine together, but it didn't follow through on the promise of the opening & some snatches of snappy dialogue just weren't enough. Also it still didn‘t resolve some of Lana's issues, so I wasn't 100% onboard with the HEA.

Thanks to #partner @NetGalley and @sourcebookscasa for the digital ARC of Sarah Morgenthaler‘s Mistletoe and Mr. Right in exchange for an honest review. The book will be published tomorrow, October 6!⠀

Sarah Morgenthaler‘s Mistletoe and Mr. Right is her second rom com set in Moose Springs, Alaska, a small town with a fancy resort, plenty of quirky locals, and some personality-filled moose. Book one told the story of Graham, ⬇️

UnabridgedPod the grumpy owner of The Tourist Trap, and Zoey, the sweet tourist who dreamed of visiting Alaska one day. In book two, Morgenthaler shares the story of Zoey‘s glamorous friend Lana who has been buying up property in the town in an effort to save it. Unfortunately, the locals don‘t see it that way . . .⠀

One of those locals is Rick, owner of the pool hall and divorce who has never quite gotten over his wife leaving him. ⬇️
4y
UnabridgedPod He lives with her nephew Diego, a super-grumpy cat, and a sweet hedgehog. And he has a crush on Lana, who he knows is WAY out of his league.⠀

Morgenthaler has a perfect touch for this type of rom com: she‘s nailed both the humor and the sweetness of this new relationship between two people who seem mismatched but are, at heart, both just really lonely. I appreciate her nuanced portrayal of Lana, ⬇️
4y
UnabridgedPod who is definitely controlled in part by her money and obligation to the family business but is in no way a victim—she‘s not looking for an escape, and her parents aren‘t abusive, but she does need something more than business.⠀

Rick, though shy, is still confident, and his affection for his friends and family and pets and neighbor . . . well, his loyalty is remarkable and was something I loved in the book. ⬇️
4y
UnabridgedPod In just two books, Morgenthaler has made quite a mark for rom-com readers, and I can‘t wait to get my hands on her next book! If you haven‘t visited Moose Springs, Alaska, yet, now is the time to start! 4y
