Forgot I read this on vacation last week too! Really enjoyed it, despite the romance taking a back seat to other issues for a bit in the middle. My heart broke for Anna a bit (a lot) as she comes to learn new things about herself…. And her family.

I treated myself to a new book nook kit as an early birthday present. I think this speakeasy is my favourite one yet.
Likewise, I‘ve enjoyed each of Helen Hoang‘s books more than the one before, and THE HEART PRINCIPLE absolutely blew me away. It‘s a gripping dive into toxic family structures and the intense pressure that comes when the people who should love and protect you refuse to even consider your needs. Wow. #audiocrafting
This book was so good. I loved Anna as a strong main character and Quan as her counterpart. They both are dealing with several personal issues, but it‘s beautiful how they come together to support each other. I also loved Helen Hoang‘s other stories and the autism rep in each!
The Kiss Quotient is one of my favorite romances ever, and this one did not disappoint either! I felt so much for Anna as she tried to navigate her struggles, and Quan was her perfect counterpart. And he‘s totally swoonworthy! And Michael and Stella from TKQ make appearances!

#pop24 - book with a neurodivergent MC
I really love this authors work and can‘t wait to read more of it in the future 😊
This is so much more than a rom-com! Yes, there‘s a romance to root for & plenty of steamy scenes, but it‘s also about the evolution of Anna & Quan. They have major life struggles to face, & they come to accept themselves throughout the process.
The book is heavier than Hoang‘s others as Anna has to care for an aging father and unsupportive family. But, these struggles were so important for Anna‘s growth.
This is one of my new favorites!
Anna is a burnt out violinist whose boyfriend springs on her he wants an open relationship. She searches for a 1-night stand & comes across Quan. While he helps her get over her sexual & personal anxieties, their feelings grow past casual. Will they become more?
I liked this one better than the 2nd one. It had a tiny bit more spice & I liked the characters a little more. I also still liked the diversity in characters.
After her boyfriend opens their relationship, Anna joins a dating app intending to have a string of one-night stands.
Quan decides to get back in the dating scene after a recovering from cancer and likes the no-strings-attached night of fun Anna wants.
When their first, second, and third attempts fail, they fall into something deeper.
Anna‘s undiagnosed autism felt so real it drew me in and Quan is a cinnamon roll. My favorite of Hoang‘s books.
I was really nervous for this one because so many people said it wasn‘t as good as the others. I loved it, personally. I couldn‘t stand Anna‘s sister or family, but I enjoyed her mother coming around at the end. I loved Seeing Quan again. I wanted to give him a cuddle when it came out that he had cancer. He‘s so sweet. It was fun seeing Michael. He was in this one a lot. 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
I hate her family. I hate what has happened between her and Quan. I absolutely hate Pricilla and her bull shit. I absolutely, 100% hate her entire family and how they treat Anna.

This woman seriously needs to needs to get it through her thick, self-centred head that Anna is an actual human being!!! I swear I‘m going to hurt her.

We all need a Quan or a Michael! I knew these guys exist (though they may be an endangered species). We just need more of them.

This isn‘t exactly the response I got. Mine was more like “but you‘re nothing like Rainman.” 🤦🏼♀️ If one more person compares me to Rainman, I‘m going to lose it. Congratulations Captain Obvious, I‘m not a man with amazing visual mathematics skills. That first one should have been pretty damn obvious, I think the second is also obvious, but what do I know. 100%, my family believes I‘m not autistic.
HAS SHE BEEN WATCHING ME MY ENTIRE LIFE?!

Quan♥️did not disappoint! 🥵 🌶️That said, Anna, I had a hard time with. While I understood many of her quirks & struggles due 2 being on the autism spectrum, her actual personality got on my nerves & I loathed her family
I used this 📖 for the “Cover You Hate” prompt for the #BookKeepersSRF (it would also fit under Guilty Pleasure or 2+ppl on the cover!)The festival is open& u can join up til 7/18 Read books=win prizes!
Name a romance you rec?
It was fine. Loved the hero. The heroine was just ok. Pretty good sex scenes 👍🏽
Important things for me started spiraling out of control today, when it got too cumbersome, I turned to the book. Interestingly enough, Anna and Quan‘s life was very much in the same spiral. I used their confidence and growth to remain positive and face tasks one at a time. This book is wonderful. It sheds a great light on autism and I love that it is that of a grown woman and her discovery of her true self. This book was everything I needed.
#12booksof2022 January Favorite. January was a slow month for me in 2022. This one was my favorite of the month, but while it was cute, I read quite a few other ones that were better.
Using this to help me transition from spooky scary into lovingly Christmas 🎄
Rating: 5 🌟
This book is AH-MAZ-ING! I felt so many feelings while reading The Heart Principle and ended with an equal mixture of joy in my heart and tears running down my face. Highly recommend!! ❤️ #LitsyLoveReads
I don‘t try to stop. I let the tears fall. I cry for the girl I used to be. I cry for me. It‘s a foreign experience. Self-pity is not an indulgence that I allow myself. This doesn‘t feel like pity, though. It feels like self-compassion, and the realisation makes me cry harder.
Her suggestion that I try it with family, however, is ridiculous. Family is not safe. Not for me. Tough love is brutally honest and hurts you to help you. Tough love cuts you when you‘re already bruised and berates you when you don‘t heal faster.
"?? ??? ?????? ???? ? ????????? ?? ????? ?? ?? ????????????? ?? ????????."
This was also a good read, a bit more heavy than the two pervious books. Anna and Quan Diep are both so lovely and both have read emotional problems and then a tragedy happens too Anna's family and her relationship is put to the test.
I mostly read “serious literary fiction“ but I am totally a sucker for Helen Hoang‘s books and characters. I absolutely loved this book. And as a professional musician I have to say that she did a great job with the musical aspects of this book. Usually books with professional classical musicians as characters make me cringe because they are just hilariously inaccurate, but she did a great job here.
A bit spicy for my taste and yet I couldn‘t put down this book of Anna learning herself once she‘s diagnosed with being on the autistic spectrum. I learned things about myself as I read her struggles. And, yes, there‘s a decent love story too.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Third book in the Kiss Quotient romance series, you don‘t need to have read the other 2. This was an amazing book! There weren‘t many romance scenes for a romance book but that didn‘t bother me. It was really a book about a women receiving a late in life autism diagnosis and discovering who she is and finding her voice. The romance was incidental.
I needed to be prepared for the emotional hits. It was definitely a different vibe than the first two books in the series. It‘s more of a focus on family, Anna‘s journey through her diagnosis and Quan‘s journey to healing.
I loved the book. I felt so much while reading. The pain and frustration is consuming in parts. Definitely read Hoang‘s author note at the end, it explains so much about how this book went and made it even more meaningful .
The Heart Principle follows both Anna and Quan. Two people that meet on a dating website, and as one meeting leads to another, the intimacy and emotional connection grows stronger. If you like books that builds a beautiful and healthy relationship, amazing and very educational mental illness rep, and about finding yourself, this book is for you. A theme in this novel is trying to find/expressing yourself - seen by Anna as she is a people pleaser
Contuing my Covid catchup with books, I finished this in the last couple weeks. I really enjoy how one of the author's characters is always somewhere on the spectrum. It reframes what a romance can mean. This book in particular really made me question if I should be evaluated myself. A great book!
3.5⭐ This was not as good as the first two books in the series, but it was okay
I feel in love with Anna. She was real, flawed and someone who deserves a lifetime of compassion. Quan was the perfect person for Anna...understanding, kind and giving.
January Book 19/25 #LItsyLove #bookspinbingo
Helen Hoang‘s The Kiss Quotient series was the first romance series I picked up after a good 10 years and I love it with every single fibre of my body.
Quan and Anna both are thoroughly imperfect in their own way, but so utterly perfect for each other. I loved their dynamics and how they help each other to grow and step out from their old shadows.
Five solid stars.
If you liked the Kiss Quotient you will also like this novel! It took a bit longer to warm up to these characters but by halfway through I was completely invested and rooting for the two characters. I enjoyed that it covered the insecurities of intimacy and sex not just from the women‘s perspective but a man‘s as well, and how they worked to tackle those insecurities with one another and for one another. Truly beautiful!
