I remember having this book as a kid and I loved it as much then as I do now. I can still see that old dog -earred paperback. I toted it around with me everywhere like a toy. It was just so strange and bizarre and curious. There wasn't anything left of that old volume by the time I was a mid adolescent.

Thanks to encouragement from the Litsy family, I decided to download serial and give it a try! This seems like such a great way to read classics. The manageable chunks make it less intimidating, and I hope it allows me to expand my literary tastes, too!

I managed to squeeze in one Halloween-y read yesterday, and what a read! I were surprised by how much I enjoyed it, and by how little I actually knew about the story. I had expected it to be told from Jekyll/Hyde's POV, but that wasn't the case! The only, little issue I had was the ending. It just felt a bit too easy with a letter explaining everything. I would have enjoyed it more if the information in the letter had been part of the story.

The beginnings of a blossoming love for #horror

What a great read. Of course I knew the end and the moral of the story, but I hadn't actually read it. A pleasant surprise. I love that English atmosphere, I love the way Stevenson tells this story about good and evil. #1001books

Had to read this for a literature course in University. It's not when I thought it was when I was little. That episode of Arthur was weird...

This was the surprisingly short, classic novella by Robert Louis Stevenson. The story is structured much more like a classic Sherlock Holmes case than a horror story. I would have liked to see more detail and think this could have made a very interesting full-length novel, in the vein of Frankenstein or Dracula.

With every day, and from both sides of my intelligence, the moral and the intellectual, I thus drew steadily nearer to the truth, by whose partial discovery I have been doomed to such a dreadful shipwreck: that man is not truly one, but truly two.
