I started the second book in the Dorothy Must Die series and here is my reading progress. This is a reread for me.
pickThe story of trying to kill Dorothy and return Oz to Ozma and its past beauty continues. It gets a bit slow - it seems almost too drawn out - Amy sent on missions she (and the reader) don't understand, and just as I think I'm not sure I want to continue the series, in the last 2 chapters twists occur and I have to see what happens next. So, I'll keep going.

so-so🎧 I‘m not sure I liked this one as much as the last. Book two in the Dorothy Must Die series. It‘s still worth a listen! It continues the story but it felt like a lot of filler in order to get to the third book that sounds really interesting. Going to watch Detective Pikachu then start Tanner‘s Dell. ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
so-soI did not like this one all that much. Some of the new characters irritated me and the actions of some of the old were out of character. Suddenly Paige started to get pop culture heavy and it didn‘t fit with the first book. The “twists” got annoying, every chapter did not need one. Maybe it was because I read them back to back that this one bothered me, but it didn‘t have the same feeling as the first. I would pan if it wasn‘t book 2/3.
Started this one tonight. Not liking it near as much. There are something‘s that are really annoying to me. But I‘m going to keep trudging and hope it improves.

I love book errors. I'm not sure why exactly but I've always gotten a kick out of them. This isn't the first I have seen in this book but it's one that definitely had me do a double take. It's a lower case L not an I. 😂😂
Since I've been on the couch/floor most of the day I have moved on to my bed where hopefully I can get some reading done and wake up fully functional tomorrow for work.
Thank you for the well wishes. My back has mostly gotten better. Still pretty uncomfortable but I went from like a 9 when I woke up this morning to about a 4 now.
So I have done.... Something to my lower back. 🤷 Woke up to some severe discomfort and barely being able to walk. So here I am laying on the floor with my legs on the couch hoping to ease that uncomfortableness. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
pickI almost always prefer the first book in a series because if it is set in a different time/place/world, that is usually when you learn about the imaginative world the author has created. That is probably true with this series as well but i still enjoyed this book very much. More of Oz was introduced and the author kept up momentum and the humor with which she writes. Would love suggestions of similarly imaginative books/series.

Good news and bad news. Good news-I finished book number 98. Bad news- I finished it while waiting at the Dr, I have a kidney infection. Even worse news- there is a huge probability to having stones as well. Now I get to wait more for a CT scan. Maybe I‘ll get to book number 99? Prayers and positive vibes sent over this way are much appreciated. This is some no joke pain.

pickMy favorite aspect of this book was the world building, which I thought was a bit lacking in the first book. I was especially pleased by the mythology behind Oz and Kansas. I also felt that the action of the plot (as opposed to the extensive training in the first book) is finally positioning characters for their real purpose, which I think is quite different than we have been led to believe thus far.
