Did I buy this book just for the cover art. Maybe. No regrets.

One of my the best series I‘ve ever read. Strong female character for the win!!
Always nice to start my week off with #ManicMonday, @JoScho 😊
📖 “Alanna - The First Adventure” from Tamora Pierce‘s “Song of the Lioness” series
🍿 “Madagascar” (Okay, I really thought of Lion King first, but since I‘m guessing at least 99% of people will pick that one, I went with my second choice! 😂)
🎶 “Lyin‘ Eyes” by The Eagles
I happened across this crowdfunding page for Mr B's Emporium of Reading Delights in Bath, where I whiled away a wonderful few hours on a trip once. One of their rewards was that they would choose books that a hero/heroine (fictional or not) would have on their bookshelf.
I immediately wondered what Alanna of Trebond would be reading (hence the tag). Which hero would you want to read like?

Bit late, but my choice for the #Chariot card! #tarottakeover #nevergiveup #girlscandoanything @ErinSueG
#31bookpics day 7 #strongheroine @howjessreads Pierce has some of my favorite strong female protagonists!
For today‘s #agameoffavorites prompt, I chose my fave YA author, Tamora Pierce. My favorite book(s) from her is the tagged. Her website is absolutely amazing, with list after list of her book picks, including a list of books for aspiring writers! Check it out for some great inspiration! @ErinSueG #tamorapierce #songofthelioness #yaauthor #favorites
It was a pretty great month of reading! Making a resolution to not buy any new books for a while and make a dent in my tbr and utilize the library. #bookpile #audiobooks #booklove #glorytotheguild
#shelfie for #riotgrams by @bookriot - complete with my slightly balding reading companion 😁👶📚
Still strolling down memory lane and still loving it. Part of my love for books is in their ability to transport you into a story, or a world. The other part is that stories like this one, that I loved and loved when I was young transport me back to a time when I felt safe. Not that I don't feel safe now, but to a time where things like grocery money and rent were abstract concepts. I'm delighted that these books are holding up to this reread.
The first #LoveTriangles I read all had Alanna of Trebond at their centers! Generally, I am annoyed by the whole #LoveTriangle shtick, but it really doesn't bother me here since it's more about her personal development than about "who will she pick?"

You could say Christmas went well. Now the part of the year where I'm so excited to read but want it to roll over into a new year - set the count back to 0!

As King of the Rouge, I think George qualifies as a #CharacterOnTheNaughtyList! Definitely my favorite mischievous fella!

These books are absolutely amazing. They are the first books that immerse you into the magical realm TortalI! A place of wonder, beauty and girls that kickass! I reread the entire collection every 2 years or so.
For #kickassheroines I have to go with Alanna of Trebond. I'm reading this series to my two sons right now (age 10 and 6) and they agree that she is a total badass. We're just getting to the parts where she's getting romantically involved which is kinda awkward but I'm soldiering on amongst giggles! #seasonsreadings2016
decided to reread the Song of the Lioness Quartet for the Popsugar Reading Challenge (book you haven't read since high school) & I am sure glad I did. while it is never going to be my favorite series of hers, I did forget how much I enjoyed Alanna's adventures ☺📚💜
For #FantasyFriday : one of my favorite YA series about a girl who pretends to be her twin brother in order to train to be a knight. Alanna is such a badass and was one of the first female characters I can remember making me want to kick down gender norms. It's high time I reread this series.
