Elinor of Aquitaine is one of my favourite #queens from history. She‘s a vibrant and impactful character who sometimes feels much more modern than her years. She‘s appeared in some absolutely great fiction - I could have picked some of Sharon Kay penmanship work here as wells but I went with this one - one of several of this authors books that focus heavily on Elinor #maymontage
I enjoy historical fiction and this time period in history is one that is always interesting to me. I enjoyed this version.
I have always been curious about Elanor of Aquitaine, but this is the first time I‘ve properly read about her. I really enjoyed this! It took me a little while to get into, especially with some of the cringe sex-scene descriptions. But her life is fascinating and I‘m so excited to continue the series. Sadly I‘ve lent the next one to my mum, hopefully she‘ll give it back soon! Thanks @jenniferw88 for giving me this in the swap last year!
I've tried to like this but I really don't so I'm bailing. The mural is on a side street just off my usual walking street.

New audio book this morning. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. The style seems a bit odd, but the story is holding my attention so far. It's a #BlameItOnLitsy and especially blame it on @Cathythoughts 😂 It was a cloudy sky so I'm checking the cloud box. #LitsyWalkersBingo
Finally getting back into this book after a detour for 2 book club books and a you-don‘t-have-enough-room-in-your-luggage-why-don‘t-I-buy-this-and-you-can-read-it-before-you-leave-my-house Christmas present from my Dad.
When you have to study for your book before you can read it.
Thanks @Caroline2 for this book. I like a good historical novel and I love powerful women. This should be great!
Thank you @jenniferw88 for the #myfavouritebookswap I love the bookmarks 😻 and I am very glad these books are both part of a series! I can‘t wait to get tucked in to one of them
For UK Littens: The Summer Queen is on special on Amazon at the mo! Just Qa! I bought it a few wks ago when it was Qf, typical!! ?
I loved this!! I know the basic story of Eleanor of Aquitaine which is a bit of a shame as I knew what was coming but this was so well written and completely engrossing! I really enjoy getting lost in a book, especially historical novels, and this was perfect! 👍🏻 🌹
A really immersive historical fiction novel that follows Eleanor of Aquitaine from age 12 to 30. We see her marriage to Louis, future king of France, their travels to Jerusalem for the Crusade, their divorce, and finally Eleanor‘s marriage to Henry, future king of England. The descriptions are lovely and Eleanor is a fascinating character. This is the first in a trilogy and I‘m definitely looking forward to the next 2 books.
I am loving this so far! 😍 Completely engrossing and fantastic storytelling and set in medieval France, what‘s not to like?! 😆
This is a great bargain at the moment! Q8.99 in the U.K. on a few platforms.
Elizabeth Chadwick fans: which book/series should I read first or are they completely unrelated?? 🤔
Got in a little reading at the lake this evening. It's so hot here this week! 😎

3 Has to be the Plantagenet era 12th - 15th Century England, especially anything based on Eleanor of Aquitaine
4. Queen Victoria

Really interesting novel about Eleanor of Aquitaine. A player of the Plantagenet era that I have read little about. Women of the time faced so many things I could not even imagine, and yet we are fighting so many of the same battles.
Savoring my last few moments of weekend with tea and girl scout cookies.
This historical fiction novel about Eleanor of Aquitaine is fascinating.
Eleanor of Aquitaine is one of my favorite historical women. I‘ve read about her elsewhere and she was an amazing woman (if the stories are true)! This was an interesting take on her early life and marriage to Louis of France. Such an interesting time period!
#FierceFeb #NoOnesLittleGirl My most recent read that this prompt reminds me of is the tagged book. I‘m only learning of Eleanor of Aquitaine, but to lose her mother so young , then her father. To be made a queen so young , dates uncertain , maybe only 13 yrs old. ( when she never really got to be a princess little girl. I‘m looking forward to reading on about her & her greatness & I wonder what happened to that little girl inside her ❤️

I liked this a lot!
I don't often pick up historical fiction, but really enjoy it when I do. This is the story of Alienor of Aquitaine from age 13 to the day she steps on a boat to England. It's epic, romantic, atmospheric & just lovely to sink into, & the author's research blog is quite fascinating.
I had a couple of niggles (an extra breath between audio scene changes, please & enough with the lip-curls) but plan to start the next book asap
Using my current audiobookfor today's prompt (it's taking a while!) At the mo, Alienor is seeking an annulment (again) from King Louis. Soon she'll be saying #MyLastDay both to her role as Queen of France, and, if Louis gets his way, to life with her children.
I came across the author's blog while I was hunting for a pic of Alienor. It's so interesting! www.elizabethchadwick.com

I'm listening to this (very slowly) on audio, and I'm loving it!
My one quibble is, I think, with the editing. When the scene/pov changes within a chapter, it sounds like the narrator doesn't even take a breath. It's very disconcerting to find yourself in someone else's head, without the slightest pause for warning!
A 5 hour road trip seems like good listening time. Might even finish it! #audiobook
Stack one from our trips to the library this week! A combination of my choices and hubby‘s 😁
I borrowed the third book in this series about Eleanor of Aquitaine from our library. When I got home I realized there were two books before it in the series so back I went through the snow to get them. Highly recommended for fans of historical fiction!
I absolutely adore this trilogy about Eleanor of Aquataine! So well written, it feels like you're alongside of Eleanor as the story flows along. I literally have to wrench myself back into reality each time I read it! ❤❤❤

The Summer Queen by Elizabeth Chadwick part of Eleanor of Aquitaine trilogy...wonderful!
I cant wait to drive into these....❤

@Cinfhen
Well -it's summer and lots of cruel things happened in this period of history (although that's most periods of history!)
The last of today's #bookmail. The Chadwick novels are totally the fault of @TrishB and the Infernal Devices boxed set is purely the fault of @Bookworm54 😘😘#blameitonLitsy
Loved this historical novel. I didn't really know anything about Alienor of Aquitaine before reading this and now I can't get enough. I'll definitely be digging into the other two in the series and others by Elizabeth Chadwick. The author brought the characters and time period to life with her attention to detail and storytelling. If your looking to read about a #strongwoman , I recommend you pick this one up.
I couldn't bear the thought if leaving my child for over 2 years -especially one so young.
On a related note, not as far in #24in48 as I would have liked due to my own daughter being up the whole night sick. 😟😟 Seems to be better now, so tomorrow I'll make up the hours!
Bringing this to work today, can't wait to see what all the excitement is about for Chadwick!
A good book, chocolate tea latte and Lush bubble bar. My Saturday night reward after spending hours cleaning our old apartment for the final walk though next week. We moved to a new place a couple of weeks ago and have been slowing moving things over. Today was the final day and deep cleaning time. #booksandtea #prismafilter
Most of Elizabeth Chadwick's books have #dressesonthecover
They are brilliant historical fiction 😀
