This is the first book in a trilogy, it has romance and magic. I liked the characters, Princess Aurelia is a good female lead. I have also read the other two books. Greythorne is the second and Ebonwilde is the third. I enjoyed the whole series.

Mehso-so

3.6/5 ⭐️
Gorgeous cover! Obsessed. As for the inside, it was an enjoyable story overall. The characters were nice & the world interesting. The romance was super clean👌 But I had 4 main issues. The MC was kind of...stupid? Much of the plot was so PAINFULLY obvious & she should have picked up on almost all of it. Also if you are Christian...(continued in comments)

idealityandme ...you may be alarmed at the way magic is represented in this book & the mixing of it with religious symbolism.🚩Just a heads up. I also felt like the MC hardly had to struggle to learn her magic, everything quickly worked out. The love in this book was also not in depth. I didn't understand how the characters fell in love and it didn't feel real. I probably won't move on to book 2... but I can see why some others would love this series. 2y

Currently I‘m only roughly 10% in and having a very hard time. I‘ve had to stop twice now. It‘s so painful to me…. I‘m going to keep pushing through. I think I‘m being affected by outside of book circumstances and hoping to fall into the book if I keep trying..

rainbowsandblackink This book must be against happiness. It‘s the only reason for all this PAIN!!!!! T.T 2y

Loved this book! It really reminded me of Stained but they're different enough to be uniquely wonderful.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an adventurous, romance, involving a brave blood mage.

📚📖Happy Reading!📖📚

Has anyone read the first book? I have this arc for the second book and I want to know if I can read the second without reading the first.

This had a very slow meh start for me but I'm glad I pushed through it. I love that YA is suddenly using the crap out of blood magic. I wanted just more of the magic itself though I did enjoy all the political maneuvering and the chase. Would I spend $26.99 CAD on the book? No. I wouldn't have touched this if my library didn't have the book and Audible had the audiobook as a daily deal. I will read the sequel though via the library

I finally have some time to read. 😴
I don't know anything about this book. I read about 60 pages this morning it seem like I'll enjoy it. I basically bought it because I liked the cover. 🤗

This one was a total #NetGalleyGamble for me- and one that panned out! The world-building in this YA Fantasy is a bit clunky and rushed at first, but once you pass that, it‘s a fun and entertaining read! It‘s not the most unpredictable read, but I think it‘s appropriate for its intended audience and I‘m definitely curious to see where the sequel will take these likable characters!

Rating-5/5 Stars
So freaking good! I didn‘t even know this was a retelling of a fairytale. So, that‘s cool. I just loved the world building and the character growth. Plus, the magic system was executed really well and I want to see more of it. I could not put this down and cannot wait for book two! Also, I loved how I got this at B&N even though it doesn‘t release until 3/12/19.

Perfect for fans of RED QUEEN and UPROOTED, Crystal Smith‘s debut novel, BLOODLEAF, is an imaginative retelling of the Grimm Fairy tale “The Goose Girl” that takes a ghostly mystery and sets it inside an epic fantasy world.

These ARCs are getting very creative in their marketing.

Lately I haven't found much time for reading and I don't like it! Funny how life happens all at once and then there are slow spots. I'm hoping it slows down again soon. I really want to get back into books! Like this good one!

brianherbergerbooks I picked up a copy of Bloodleaf last weekend. Looking forward to it. 6y
SMayWrites @brianherbergerbooks I think I really like it. Hard to tell when I only get 15 minute snippets. I like to sit and read and really delve into the story. I might reread it when I finish. 6y
