This is an absolutely bonkers book and I liked it! Truly bonkers. A cannibal, a ghostly messiah, a talking fruitbat, a lovable transvestite, a reporter with flying pig underwear, supervillains, R-rated sex, ninjas (sort of), a knockoff but still pink Mary Kay with a thick Texas accent, etc etc. The hapless hero turned out to be a hero and the book came to a very satisfying end. Narrator second to none.

Asshole Main Character is a womanizing arrogant twat. He ruins his career and genitals with a whore and a plane crash and ends up running from the law to Micronesia and finds himself saving the native islanders from a rouge methodist missionary doctor. Also, men literally have food dribble from their mouths at the sight of boobs. WTF.
But then I realized this is a Bond film: Dashing pilot. Sexy ladies. Bad guys.
Ok.
Tolerable.
Barely.

Lousy and borderline racist (characters saying derogatory, racist dialogue). No love nun whatsoever. Lots of organ trafficking though.

Going to read some Christopher Moore for the square “a book that made you laugh”.

Not my fave of Moore‘s titles, but still hysterical. It needed a cleaner edit and I found the ending a little anticlimactic.

Shark People, a Sky Priestess, a Sorcerer, Roberto the talking fruit bat, a man-girl navigator, an old grouchy cannibal and a complete loser who thinks with his penis make up the cast of Island of the Sequined Love Nun. In proper Moore form, insane silliness ensues. Tucker Case starts out as sex obsessed jerk, but slowly turns into a loveable loser while uncovering a sordid mystery and his sense of decency. 4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I am almost always #readinginbed . This is my rather messy bedside table... And since I felt my reads were kind of sluggish, I decided to lighten up with some Christopher Moore

Took me a while to finish the book as it sort-of dragged down in the middle. Once I reached the latter half of the book, it got more interesting and I couldn't stop reading.
