I think this one is my favorite in this series. Lots of laughs and fun.
A cute follow up to the first book. The story is focused on Frankie, the geek goth family mortician whose over protective parents won't let go and the new to town Sheriff, Eric, out to make a name for himself. Filled with dogs and small town drama, this book series feels a lot like home to me.
5/5 stars. Absolutely loved this continuation. Hilarious, and it made me fall deeper in love with this quirky family.
Talia is not being a peach this morning. Someone is pouting because her brother got up here first.
I often keep Molly Harper audiobooks for special occasions. Some weeks/months call for a book treat- and Harper never fails to make me laugh!
Cozy small town romance. Seasonally appropriate, even! #readathon
Enjoying the fall morning waiting to do some grocery shopping.
Starting this tonight. The first one was good so hopefully this will be too. I‘ve been feeling very slumpy with my reading this month. I‘ve only finished two books and bailed on like 5.
What's a holiday weekend without a book haul?!📚
Finally finished this audio book while #audiosouping today. Cute & fun-a nice palate cleanser. I've read the other books & novellas in the series, but it's always fun to listen to Harper's southern-set books. Grayish morning-we still haven't had any heavy rain from non-hurricane Lane on Oahu-but the Big Island recorded over 4-feet in spots.😱It's humid enough cold soup wouldn't have been amiss, but this Spanish-ish soup will be great for lunches.
Lunch & #soupersundays blog post from earlier--my vegan version of Giada's Italian Vichyssoise. I replaced the mascarpone with Tofutti Better Than Sour Cream & the arugula with watercress (that one was due to a brain fart in the produce aisle). 😆I tried it warm when I made it, then cold later & like it both ways. With one of my current audio books. #audiosouping 🍲🥄was all I had time for today & I needed something light & fun. Link to recipe👇🏻
I LOVE listening to Molly Harper‘s books. Perfect for summertime reading! #summer

I‘m going to attempt this July challenge. I‘m on vacation till 7/6 so it‘s digital only until then.
Day 1 Anticipated July Reads
I don‘t have many anticipated reads this month, but that‘s ok. I‘ll be rereading The Hating Game for book club, Ain‘t She a Peach is happening this month (Molly Harper is amazing) and I‘ve been looking forward to Alpha (Infinity series final book)
Confession: I love small town romances. It‘s books like this that make me wish I grew up in a smaller town. Frankie, the local mortician and coroner has this interesting relationship with the new sheriff. Frankie is everything I love in a main character: feisty, fearless and a little self-centered but with a good heart. If this is your jam, I recommend this read. It just made me fell ahhh.
#ARC #Review: Ain't She a Peach by Molly Harper with Gallery Books. I love the zany McCready family in Lake Sackett!⠀

Frankie is just as irrepressibly delightful as I remember, and her grouchy counterpart, Eric is too much fun! There‘s a wonderful balance of romance, mishaps, and the unique inhabitants of Lake Sacket, to round things out nicely. I dropped everything else I was reading to read about my favorite gothy, Sharknado loving, “talks to dead people...[because] it seems rude to enbalm them and not least say hello...”, coroner. WORTH IT!

This lighthearted story takes readers back to the small town of Lake Sackett, Georgia & McCready Family Funeral Home and Bait Shop to follow the story of Frankie, the 28 year old goth/nerd/Southern girl who works as the funeral home embalmer & county coroner.
Those who loved the first book in the series will love to see Margot's story continue alongside Frankie's. Southern charm, funny one-liners, and a cute romance make this a cozy read.
.
Awwwww, loved it. Light, easy read that has you laughing out loud and sighing with the zany family drama. A great book when you want something entertaining but don‘t have to think too hard. The characters are sweet and likable. Everything wraps up pretty easy in a nice bow but sometimes you need that! Was a Little worried since I didn‘t have the chance to read book 1 in the series but it was just fine as a stand-alone.
I needed a light read after a couple emotionally heavy books. This #arc fits the bill perfectly- tons of southern charm & I've laughed out loud a few times already!
1. Croatia‘s Eurovision song by Franka called “Crazy” except I‘ve changed the lyrics to fit my cat
2. So far it‘s ok. I‘m not far in.
3. Probably A Court of Mist and Fury
4. Anyone can should they choose

Starting this #arc while binging American Vandal on Netflix. I love Molly Harper‘s Half Moon Hollow series and have only read a few of her other books. I just love how bright the cover is. 🍑
