pickI love this place and these characters. Thankfully, I still have a few other Hilderbrand books to read. I also read this on the beach in St. John & loved that small parts of this book were set there.

pickI don't read a lot of YA, but I got pretty caught up in this and did not see the big twist coming and yeah, I really liked it. The author mentions in her notes that she worried readers would find the writing style pretentious, and I can see how it might come off that way, but after the first few (super short) chapters I was into it. It fit the story and the character.
Last night I had the privilege to attend the Natl Figure Skating Pairs and had the best time with friends. Today, just couldn‘t settle in with any current reads and so I searched for “month” on Libby and I selected this. #MiddleGrade #ReadICT

so-so3✨ I wasn‘t completely engaged to this story, but enjoyed the relationship between grandmother and granddaughter. Read for #FoodandLit 2024 Finland
pickI want to thank #foodandlit2024 for encouraging me to choose a book from Finland. One of my best friends growing up had a Finnish dad and a Swedish mum and I was exposed to all of the best things from each culture and continue to love Scandi style above all others. This novel is a love letter to summer and Finland told in short vignettes that flip back and forth through the main character‘s , Sophia, childhood summers with her grandma and father.
