So I‘m now 2/2 with Carley Fortune! I‘ve always been a sucker for summer-romance-at-the-lake and second chances. I may have found a new (to me) must read romance author!

There was a lot I liked, but then one particular plot point really dampened my enthusiasm. Got “the ick” as the young people say.
My #DoubleSpin for September.
I‘m glad I‘ve started reading this author. Another pick! Lovable, real, flawed characters and a wonderful setting. I enjoyed how well the story switched between present and past. I agree with another reader that asked for Charlie‘s story.

This was a nice surprise. I wasn‘t expecting #tornado to be in this book.🌪️

More summer cocktails; Pimm‘s Cup for Wimbledon. I really enjoyed this summer romance read. Fun fact: I‘ve been to and through Barry‘s Bay a few times, it‘s always awesome to read a book set somewhere you‘ve been in real life
Homemade lemonade and Fritos ( the ultimate summer chip) and a summer read. Living my best life
Percy's "betrayal" of Sam is WAY overhyped, but it totally fits her character that SHE would consider it so momentous. And I just loved Barry's Bay and the years the story stretched! Gonna need a sequel for Charlie, pls. #contemporaryromance
Persephone & Sam used to spend every summer together in Barry‘s Bay for 6 yrs. They got closer than ever in more ways than 1 over the yrs. But one weekend, she makes the biggest mistake of her life & never returned. Now she‘s been called back.
This book was a bit overhyped. The plot was good. There was some funny & cute parts, but I wanted more. The characters didn‘t seem like they were very much in love w/ each other.
A fun read for the unofficial last weekend of summer. Perfect for reading in the sun.
I loved this book so much. It was a quick summer ready with such great characters and I was so invested. I couldn‘t put it down. I loved how the story came together and the story at it was written just really worked. One of my favorite summer reads.
I did my own #StuffyourKindle day over the last days (loooots of discounts!) and this is the (terrifying) result. The problem is that right now I don‘t really have the time & patience to read and thus I‘m in a big reading slump when I do have time!
Started this one on audiobook while making paper for all those Amazon packages we all love ◡̈
Starting this one! I‘ve heard soo many good things .
I read this cover to cover on a plane ride! I really liked how all the characters were flawed, but I felt like the author did a good job of still making me like them. This book felt very nostalgic and was a great read if you‘re looking for a “what happens next?” story.
I picked this book at random because it was "available now" on Libby, and HOLY COW it had such a complete chokehold on me this morning that I read it in one sitting. So good! I love a good coming of age love story, but damn if it never stops being frustrating when people can be their own worst enemies. A really impressive debut! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Why did it take me so long to pick this book up?! I received it in my subscription to The Book Drop last year and I didn‘t get around to reading it then. After I saw it blew up on Booktok I knew I had to read it and it was so good!! I am so mad at myself because I let this book sit on my shelf for so long! I definitely plan to read every book Carley Fortune writes from now on! Definitely 5 ⭐️!
Just finished this on audio and I couldn‘t stop listening. I love coming of age love stories, and I felt very reminiscent regarding my coming of age love story (without all the drama in the middle). It is a story of friendship, young love, stupid mistakes, and most importantly forgiveness (of those you love and of yourself). 5⭐️s
His eyes are the clear blue skies they always were, but so much else is different. The edges of his cheekbones and jaw are harder…His hair is shorter than he used to wear it…his arms are thick and corded. He was beautiful at eighteen, but adult Sam is so devastating I could cry. I missed him becoming this. And the grief of that loss—of seeing Sam grow into a man—is a fist squeezing around my lungs 🛶
💛 easy read; literally bolted through it in less than 12 hrs. A bit predictable, great pacing, and overall very heartwarming. Reminded me of Love and Other Words a little too much, but I‘m a sucker for this kind of story no matter what!!
Fantastic. I couldn‘t put it down.
Now I‘m sad it‘s over.
80 pages in and already loving this one so much!
A coming of age story told by 30 year old Percy that recounts meeting Sam when they were just 13. Almost a YA book, I wouldn‘t designate it as such due to described sexual tension and a couple sex scenes. I was unsure about Percy because she almost comes off as whiny and needy, almost. I‘d have loved a few chapters from Sam‘a point of view. Book #72 in 2022
Not my usual kind of read but okay for a romance novel. Made me laugh and cry a little. Overall good story.
Hmmmm... This was maybe a bit more graphic than I feel comfortable with when it comes to teenagers (it makes me feel a little gross reading relatively explicit stuff with teens - sorry, not sorry) Putting that aside, this was light summer reading that was heavy on teenage drama so felt more YA-ish. But add in the open door bits and it's definitely not YA... This book maybe just needed to decide what kind of book it wanted to be.
super sweet and ultimately satisfying romance. the dual timeline was a great way to tell the story, but I def liked the flashback chapters better than the present day chapters. past and present ties together neatly in the end though! BookTok made me read it! 4 ⭐️s! 🇨🇦💜
book 12/22 for 22
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5/5 OMG THIS IS MY FAVORITE FAVORITE BOOK OF THE YEAR SO FAR I LOVEDDDD SAM AND PERCY I also loved how realistic there relationship was 💙 that‘s it new all time favorite 🤩😂
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A sweet summer romance steeped in nostalgia and teenage angst. It was a little predictable, but a fun escape. 🎧
I‘ve made it to the halfway point for my #AwesomeAugust goal. With being out most of the day tomorrow, hitting my 3000 pages isn‘t looking good but I‘m feeling pretty accomplished just at this halfway point!
I loved this book!! I think it is the epitome of a perfect summer read. I loved the setting, and of course I loved Percy and Sam‘s romance. I am a big fan of dual timeline books, as well as a friends to lovers trope, so this book won me over!! 4.5/5 ⭐️
August 2, 2022 I took JUST 3 days to read this book! no suprise. When it comes to romance novels, I tend to speed through them, obviously not too where I miss out on important details. This book was filled with many areas of steamy romance. 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Percy and Sam share their summers at the lake every summer from middle school through high school. Best friends who share the bond of friendship…will anything more become of it? Of course but the story to get there is a good read.
July 30, 2022 Here are the books that were inside that bag hehehe hahaha MY NEW TBR stack
July 30, 2022 Sneak peak of my cute 10 cent bag from Barnes + Nobles today
Gentle stories of summer - spread over multiple years are my guilty pleasure, and I really enjoyed this one I picked for #booked2022 and the Canada prompt. It‘s sweet with hints of young adult in the story of the early years with a confidence and angst in the 12 years@lter section that I really enjoyed. A perfect affirming palate cleanser after 2 slightly heavy novels
The perfect summer read and a great debut! Didn‘t want to put this down! #bookspinbingo @TheAromaofBooks
Percy & Sam's love story began the summer they met when they were 13 yrs old. Every summer after for years their friendship & love for each other grew until one summer Percy makes a mistake breaking Sam's heart. Fast forward 12 yrs later & the two of them are still feeling each other's absence. This story reminded me of the magic of first love & how some loves never fade but only grow stronger with time. A perfect summer read!
Mini Review: I don't read many books from the romance genre. I gave this one a go after seeing it all over #bookstagram with rave reviews. For me, it didn't necessarily live up to all the hype, but I do think it is a good summer read. I found myself wishing I had been lucky enough to share my teenage summers on a lake with someone like Sam as Percy had.

I absolutely loved it!
I loved reading about Sam and Pers Summer vacation from when they were 13 to 18 years old.
We have chapters about them being adult and we discover that something happened between them. It was a beautiful and sweet love story. ❤️
Carley Fortune brings the characters to life in this novel, she captures the true essence of being a teenager, the powerful emotion of a first love, how people can betray the ones they love most, and how they can forgive.
I highly recommend Every Summer After by Carley Fortune to anyone who loves a great story.
