I loved the slow burn in this book. Loved the plot and the characters. I rated this book a 4 out of 5 stars.

This is a enemies to lovers story about two figure skaters. The two main characters hate each other yet they end up having to skate together when they are both left without a partner. I really enjoyed the witty banter between the two of they. The story worked and I felt the characters complimented each other. 4⭐️

"By the time I'd busted my ass five times in a row, I figured it was time to call it quits."
The chemistry and the banter was amazing. This was slow burn at its finest and the transition from enemies to friends to lovers was executed very well. There was a lot of tough love in this book but love nonetheless. The positive reviews are not exaggerated.
“I'll drag you back on the ice if I have to, Jasmine. I swear on my life.“
Something about his words made me shake on the inside. Maybe it was the conviction. Maybe it was the anger. The passion. The reality that he wasn't leaving me any room to not do what he said.
Mostly though, it was something else completely.
I loved him.
Re read. Loved this book so much. Will forever be one of my favourites.

I was not a huge fan at first, characters were a little toxic and I was having too much of it, but I loved the character development. You get to fall in love with the characters by the end of it. A definite slow-burn. It is a beautiful and different story.
Highly recommend this slow burn romance! Jasmine and Ivan were absolutely perfect. From the hilarious banter to the intensive training involved in figure skating I was hooked. Enemies to friends to lovers is another trope represented. I loved the psychological aspect from Jasmine as well. Very relatable. Her sailor‘s mouth ? She is one of my favorite characters ever. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️½
I LOOVVEEDDD this book!! So amazing! Loved everything about it. Can‘t say enough.
If you haven‘t read it yet go right now and read it.

I don't know what Mariana Zapata does to her books but I become addicted almost every time I open them. Ivan is definitely in my top 5 book boyfriends now. I love their relationship and seeing how it evolved. I already want to re-read it for the banter alone. #slowburn #sports #enemiestolovers #romantsy
That someone could love you and want the best for you, and at the same time, break you in half.
E-paper displays are awesome. If I didn't have the affinity to collect (and touch and feel and smell) physical books, I'd be happy to read on my e-reader all the time. It saves so much space, too!
An amazing reintroduction back into the enemies to lovers trope!!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Saturday morning plans: lots of coffee, and trying to finish at least one of the three books I'm currently reading:
From Lukov With Love (borrowed from a friend);
All Systems Red (on my Kobo); and
Catherine House e-arc (on my Kindle).
I borrowed this from a friend and it is very delightful so far. Very CUTTING EDGE, for those who recall the movie lol
I think I‘m in the mood for a reread of Mariana Zapata‘s From Lukov with Love. One of my favorites from her 💙
Romance Book Haul 💜💞💜
This is probably a 3.5 star for me. I loved the way Ivan and Jasmine were unafraid to give each other crap. I didn‘t like how Jasmine hid a situation that was actually a big deal, and then totally freaked out about something that shouldn‘t have been a big deal. It was annoying. But their developing friendship/romance was super sweet.
(Also this is the 5th Mariana Zapata book I‘ve read in 6 days. Who even am I???) 😂🤷🏼♀️ #howjessreadsin2019
❤️ I read 77 Romances last year (I read one every Friday night and long weekend) and, surprisingly, despite my general preferences otherwise, I *love* this long, slow-burn, single-POV romance between two ice-skaters. ⛸⛸
It‘s a stand-alone though it has a connection to ‘Dear Aaron‘

If you enjoyed The Cutting Edge as much as I did you might want to check out the tagged title. It‘s the story of two figure skaters, sworn enemies for life, who reluctantly pair up as a team. Somewhat predictable? Sure. But with surprisingly more depth than you‘d expect. In fact, there might have been a little *too* much redundant detail, but the narrative itself still grabbed me. Then again, I‘m a sucker for a good love/hate love story.
This is me this morning. Stayed up late, but I still need to finish. Can‘t wait to dive back in!
A romance that‘s giving me The Cutting Edge vibes? Count me in!
Despite 120+ (ONE HUNDRED TWENTY) ableist slurs, this was fun and funny, and I enjoyed it a lot.

A definite #blameitonlitsy!
Slow-burn romance going from enemies to friends to lovers, this book focuses around world-class figure skating and our heroine's journey to overcome the self-doubt that has negatively impacted her career. I like that her family is such a strong presence. Normally, I'd have a hard time with the amount of angst going on in the protagonist's head, but this book worked for me. I'm looking forward to reading more.

I don‘t understand it myself: I‘m not really a fan of single POV romances, slow burn romances, long romance novels, or even ice skating but I saw this on KU and decided to go for it.
I read it in one night and *loved* it! And I cried (the good kind of crying) and I don‘t even know what‘s happening to me so I‘m heading over to my zombie stax now!
If you‘ve read Mariana Zapata‘s The Wall of Winnipeg, then you know that she‘s a brilliant writer of slow burn enemies-to friends-to lovers plots. Lukov is among her very best, second only to Wall. It‘s about two Olympic skaters. The heroine is stubborn, talented, mouthy, hostile, fantastic—she‘s completely fresh and original. The hero‘s an arrogant, surprising Russian. Do not miss this one! #romantsy #contemporaryromance #keeper
A little late!

#unpopularopinion It never got better. I don‘t mind slow burn novels, but I like them to be well written and engaging. The writing felt juvenile and stiff. Ivan was mostly tolerable, but the entire novel is from Jasmine‘s POV and I abhorred nearly everything about her, from her attitude to her thought processes, and found myself constantly rolling my eyes at her whining. Maybe I need a slasher book. Romance as an escape isn‘t working.
Y‘all I‘m struggling here. I‘m 40% through and I don‘t know if I can take another page. I feel like something must be wrong with me. This has a 4.4 rating on Goodreads. Penny Reid‘s Facebook fan group LOVES this author and I love Penny. I feel like I‘m reading whiny Bella in Twilight (and for the record, I hate the Twilight Saga).
I love slow burn romances and Zapata writes them so well. I can understand why others don‘t have the patience for her books but they are totally my catnip. I knew that this book would take an entire an entire day to read and that I wouldn‘t be able to put it down so I saved it for the perfect lazy day. A figure skater fearing her career might be over ends up partnered with a man she cannot stand. This ranks in my top three of her books. #romantsy
I loved this! I really enjoy Zapata‘s slow burn romances; where it‘s about the building of a relationship and watching people fall in love. Ivan Lukov is my new favorite book boyfriend. #romance #sportsromance #glorytotheguild
Mariana Zapata has this way of spinning tales that really show the love between characters instead of just stating the sentiment. From Lukov With Love is one of my favorites: absolutely strong characters who constantly support each other, witty dialogues, a slow-burn romance. Zapata writes somewhat lengthier stories than what is the norm, but I can truly say that I enjoyed every little bit - a fabulous read indeed. #marianazapata #romantsy
