The romance moved too quick in my opinion. The characters knew nothing about one another and neither did we, the readers.

Just enjoyable. Slow burn, enemies to lovers, he‘s loved her all along.
Book about learning to trust again. Liked the characters but it wasn‘t my favorite romance I‘ve read recently
I expected this novel to be encouraging, as someone who just quit their “career” to work a more mundane job. I liked this book for a different reason though, as it was completely weird. It took you through Kieko‘s oddball thoughts that felt both familiar-as you catch yourself thinking strange things- and off-the-wall- as you see Kieko take in a loser of a man. Felt like reading the script of an A24 film.
Had some “aha” moments when I figured where the plot was going. Overall I loved Birdie‘s character and the moral dilemma Sadie had to go through at the beginning. I also liked the satisfaction of knowing the truth at the end. Overall, a sweet story, just nothing to write home about.
I liked this retelling of p&p! I loved getting Darcy‘s thoughts and emotions.
Kind of wanted to bail but gotta hit my year reading goal!!
It wasn‘t that the book was bad. It had moments of tenderness and insight. I liked how to author never made the character self conscious of her body, but made it normal and celebrated. I just felt disconnected from the story and uninterested.
Ex-sex worker and a rabbi fall in love…
The Jewish traditions and lessons were really nice additions to this story.
“I thought you were obsessed with winning!?”
“I‘m more obsessed with you!”
Honestly I enjoyed this book a lot. I just wish I got to know the individual characters more as their own people.
Went from hating Dominic to loving him and I liked that this romance wasn‘t a meet-cute but a rebuilding of love that was already there
I will say in terms of the romantic plot line, this is probably my least favorite of the trilogy. But in terms of characters and their inner struggles, I always love what Helen Hoang produces. I saw in her author‘s note that this is the most true to her book so far, and I loved the detail of adding a first person narrator to reflect that. I‘m happy to get a close on Michael, Quran, and Khai‘s family!
I liked the chemistry between the characters, but the situations seemed a bit impossible; the company designed for revenge, the over-hatred for all men by the H4H crew, etc. I also felt like the story could have dived deeper into the story of Margo basically luring these vulnerable women into these jobs but oh well. Overall, enjoyable!
Really nothing bad to say about the book. A very sweet and fun read. I just wished for more
I didn‘t hate it, but in my younger years of reading fan fics, I‘m pretty sure I read this exact story 12 times. Nothing was new or interesting.
I liked it!! I think the ending of Dannie‘s relationship was so subtle and true to how many end, especially ones you‘ve grown comfortable with. I loved the non traditional love story of Dannie and Bella. In the end, I was happy she and Aaron didn‘t end up together and that the feeling was grief. It gave me a wrap up I sometimes miss in more straight forward “romances”.
I didn‘t realize it was part of a series! It was such a fun read, nothing really wrong with it. I just didn‘t love it
Loved the whole book but the ending. I felt that the twists and turns every year were great but I hated her just forgiving him. I get why she did, he was a kid, but it felt too easy. Not a bad read, though. It‘s always good when a book makes you feel something, even if it‘s anger for a character.
Loved their story, kind of wish there was more tension/buildup to the start of them actually liking each other, but otherwise loved it!
Emily Henry uses so many tropes in her books, in the best way. They never feel tiring to read. She writes about those moments you know you‘re in love. With beach read it focused on feeling overwhelmed that this person existed when you watched them sleep. In this book, it talks about them being your home, and the fun-ness of a relationship based in friendship. I‘ve found so much of my own love story in Emily‘s stories. Can‘t wait for her next one.
Good romance!! Always love the vacay w one bed trope. Also always love the “I love him but he doesn‘t feel the same meanwhile he absolutely does”
Okay book 2!! Now we‘re getting somewhere!! Loved it. Can‘t wait to start book 3
Felt like the author should have elaborated on the world building more? Moments we got a lot of were about her wanting to capture colors in a glen but I wanted more information on the cultures. Really picked up the last chunk of the book though, liked that bit.
Cincy author! Loved Gus. Bet turns into dates, classic.
What to do after an 18 yr relationship ends? FAKE DATING TROPE!!!
Liked the two and the brother dynamic, just wish the character personalities and their predicaments were maybe more fleshed out?
Didn‘t like as much as the first book in the series but still a good read. Loved the characters again the second time around and it was nice seeing Sloan have some closure after the end of the first book.
Loved Reid and was honestly surprised to find out what his reservations were for!!
while I HATED Maddie most of the time, I found myself simultaneously badly wanting to know how it would end and also wanting to drag out the romantic moments between her and Max.
I like Helen Hoang's characters! It was not what I expected at all, with Michael being an escort, but it was a fun dynamic.
Loved Seb, and enjoyed the moments of them dancing and preparing for fake outings. Very bridgerton-esque
Overall, I liked this book and it was fun that the universe continued with Daisy's story. I did think that the issues were too quickly resolved whenever they arose, from the brother relationship to even the accident. It was a fun read though and when they said “Humraaz“ ... swoon.
I was not expecting to love this book and these characters so much. I spent the last third of the book crying tears of sadness and happiness. What a roller coaster. I love love loved this book.
Overall, a cute read. I liked the chaperoned dates the most because it is where Layla and Sam got to know one another best. I wished for more of those scenes to better get to know the characters myself. I also felt like Sam never really got over his revenge plan. Idk, something was just lacking for me on his end.
Loved Leon and Tiffy! Liked how they got to know one another with notes and loved the side drama as well with Richie and Justin. Good read.
While the resolution was lackluster imo, the build-up, let-downs, and almosts made me giddy. Wishing I was on a beach somewhere to read this one. I didn‘t feel extremely connected to the characters personally. It felt like they had no flaws, making them unattainable characters for me.
I didn‘t know this was a part of a series, but I loved this book. The romance felt real and the adventure was great. I wanted so badly to see their documentary in the end.
Loved the movie adaptation, so I read this. Very different but a great read.
Loved the characters in the beginning, but the ending felt rushed and slightly unresolved. Overall, I liked it!
Parts had me giddy, but the characters don't resolve things in an expected/logical way. I guess I mean that the drama isn't as dramatic as I would've hoped?
As someone who lives in cincy, so fun to read my favorite classic novel retold in my city. As a lover of P&P though, I found I hated Liz and couldn‘t feel any real chemistry between Darcy and her. The mom was just as hated as always, so it achieved that!
Screw Annie. Also her addition to the plot was pretty minimal, kinda wish there was more of a back and forth with that story. Fun novel, cutesy romance.
Gamer girl gets a huge break but has to deal with all the harassment that comes with being a woman of color in the gaming industry. Not as much romance as expected from the description and title, but an enjoyable read apart from that!
