I remember that I did read this a few years ago. Does a good summary.

4.75⭐️ Really enjoyed this adaptation. I had heard about the book through various sources that were talking about how the book had been banned in a number of jurisdictions in the past few months. Strongly recommend reading the author‘s note at the end of the book. #2023 #bookreview #adaptations #graphicnovels #bookstagram #nonfiction
I finally ordered this. I am super excited to add this to my Anne collection. I have several copies of her Diary and all of them are well loved. #books #graphicnovels
Libby borrow. On my hook: a sparkly sock. #booksandcrochet #litsycrafters
I was skeptical about a graphic adaptation of Frank‘s diary, since so much would have to be left out. While I‘d still recommend reading the diary itself (the unedited one, not the one with the brown cover), this graphic adaptation is beautiful and true to the spirit of the diary. I love the illustrations, particularly the two on the right. The bottom right one is especially powerful since it‘s used to close the book.
I didn‘t realize that the author of this graphic novel was commissioned by Anne Frank‘s foundation. You can clearly see how he strove to make it a stunning and respectful tribute to Anne and her original diary. Reading both of these books now-amid the war in Ukraine and the pandemic, really sears Anne‘s raw insights and resilient spirit into your soul.🙌🏻
Thx @PurpleyPumpkin for the gift of this amazing graphic novel.

This was a really good adaptation. I have the original on hold so I can compare better, but initially I‘m very impressed. This version combines actual excerpts from the diary with adapted writing & includes fabulous graphics that add another layer to help bring the characters to life. My library lists this as a teen book, but like the original it works for almost any age, & I think this version will be more accessible to today‘s young readers.
From the time I first saw this graphic adaptation of The Diary of Anne Frank, I have gone back and forth about reading it. I could not fathom how a graphic adaptation of this work could be done well. Having decided to read it, I was pleased to see the justice done to it and to read the adapter‘s notes on his own concerns of doing Anne justice. I believe he has. I would still recommend everyone read her original diary.
This made me smile so hard! Someone left a note slipped into this library book. I am going to leave it in there for the next person to see it as well. It was a #rak and a #favor from a fellow reader. #reallyrandomfebruary #notesinbooks #libraryfinds
Have you ever found anything in your library books?
Awww, poor Shostakovich. 😥 😂
(from Anne Frank's Diary: The Graphic Adaptation)

I haven't read this in several years, and I'd forgotten how uncomfortably personal it was. The artwork was great, and there was an explanation in the back of how they adapted it.

Is a very nice adaptation from a not so easy read. I wish they have adapted a few more parts but overall very well done.

I spent a good couple of minutes just looking at this frame, staring into cartoon Anne‘s eyes. What could she have grown up to be? Heartbreaking. 😢
What a lovely GN so far! I really like the choice of excerpts they‘ve included, the variety of different layouts is interesting and the colours are perfect for Anne‘s time. This is my favourite page so far. It‘s highlighted with the quote “Dear Kitty, I hope I will be able to confide everything to you, as I have never been able to confide in anyone, and I hope you will be a great source of comfort and support.” This is one of my favourites.

I love the story of Anne Frank. It‘s my favourite topic to teach about and one of the most engaging for students. I‘ve read Anne‘s diary so many times and it never gets old. 📖 🖊 ✏️
This is a lovely book! I read someone‘s review of it, which said that the graphic novel version portrays Anne‘s personality and life in the annex in a totally different way, showing her youth and vitality. Can‘t wait to read her diary with this in mind.
This sounds like my journaling practice. In fact I sometimes call it my bitch fit journal 😅 So maybe it's good that I didn't reach my journal goal for #TeamFitLit 🙃

Enjoying this adaptation a little too much 💩
I waffled back & forth about attempting the #24in48 #readathon this weekend but finally signed up last night. Slightly under the weather & an exhausting work week so the struggle to stay awake will be real but I'm gonna try. My stack of shorter books + some on my Kindle & a library hold I'll grab tomorrow. Different genres & moods for my inner moody reader. 😉It starts for me at 6:00 PM tonight & I think I'll start with the tagged graphic novel.
5⭐️ When I read Anne Frank‘s diary for the first time, the images that I had in mind were bleak and solemn. It didn‘t help that I had major goosebumps when I visited the house back in 2007. It was a sad story and I had the worst imagination! This graphic novel gives a new perspective - Anne‘s. It‘s different when you put images beside the written words; your imagination is altered - and for me, it‘s for the better 💖

I reread The Diary of a Young Girl several years ago & grabbed this graphic novel adaptation when I saw it on the library new books shelf. The illustrations are beautiful & it fits today's #Amsterdam prompt. So far I have only paged through it but it seems to have been done with thought & care for the original.
Mahalo to @Cinfhen & @BarbaraBB for a great month of musical wanderings & for getting me back into the challenge game. 😘
I read 3 graphic memoirs for #MayMadness Week 3 #graphicnovel challenge. I enjoyed the stories and the illustrations are pretty good!

I am always in awe of how raw and vulnerable Anne allows herself to be with Kitty. This was a great read! Great illustration. 👍🏽 📚
I was excited to get my hands on a copy of this book but I was also weary because I was unsure if anyone could do an adaptation of her diary justice. With that said, I have to admit that I absolutely loved the adaptation! The graphics were stunning and thoughtful and they did not take away from the importance and depth of Anne‘s diary. I definitely recommend it!. #annefrank #adaptation #memoir #graphicnovel
⭐️4/5
I LOVED this graphic novel adaptation. To be honest, I still haven‘t been able to read the actual diary… but this graphic adaptation was beautifully illustrated, kept the integrity and serious messages about life and the Holocaust, and (perhaps my favorite aspect) put it in a format almost anyone can digest making it more accessible to audiences.
☕️ 📚 my husband gets to read Anne Frank‘s Diary the Graphic Adaptation while I have to read for school 😒 although it‘s interesting, I am really excited for this graphic novel.
Virginia Woolf and lots of children's lit (classic & contemporary) pretty much sums up my January reading. Ten books in total and these were my faves!
Thanks for pointing me to the tagged book @dariazeoli. It's beautifully done and makes me want to re-read the original. I'm still waiting on the Beastie Boys book and Becoming.

I haven‘t read Anne Frank‘s original diary in many years, so when I saw this one on Litsy, I knew I had to pick it up. I‘m glad it exists, as it will bring Anne‘s story to a new set of readers; however, as mentioned in the Adapter‘s Note, so much of Anne‘s diary had to be left out. Due to this, I think the graphic adaptation is a fantastic starting point or accompaniment, but it can not replace the original diary.
My third book for #24in48.
Thanks to @Erinreadsthebooks for bringing this one to my attention.
This was so well executed, both in content and illustrations. It‘s been awhile since I read Anne‘s original diary, so I can‘t recall what exactly has been cut, but the same astounding reflections are still present.
I will definitely be buying a copy of this for our shelves.
This cover is fantastic!! 👏🏼🎉😍🤗 I LOVE having graphic novels of classics my kids might be assigned in their classes. Reading doesn't come easy to every student, so I'm thankful that the graphic adaptations that are coming out are 💯
I have wanted a copy of this adaptation for some time and I had originally found it in German before the English edition was published. I also found a copy of the graphics adaptation of To Kill a Mockingbird. I couldn‘t help myself. #bibliophile #graphicnovel #harperlee #annefrank
This graphic adaptation hit hard -- the artwork brought each of the characters back to life on the pages. When the diary just stops, so close to the end of the war, it is heartbreaking. #nonfictionNovember
How‘s your Saturday night? 😊
Visitors at my little library 💕🐶🍂
Currently reading Anne Frank's Diary, the graphic novel edition. I love the illustrations.
Hope everyone had a great weekend. Theo helped my niece and nephew carve pumpkins. We agree they are delicious. 🍊🐶🍁 #dogsoflitsy
Have been very curious about this.
