"Affirming your gender can be joyful and safe! If your current binding method isn't doing it for you, experiment with other methods. There is a better one out there for you." ?️‍⚧️

I read this to improve my understanding of the non-binary and transmasc experience of binding, and to inform my work in a general NHS counselling service, which is accessible for trans clients.

This graphic guide has personal accounts of several people who bind, ⬇️

Bookwomble ... advice on safe binding, exercises devised by physiotherapists specialising in trans healthcare, and some reflective exercises to develop insight into personal goals and and what may foster movement towards them

Kobabe and Peitzmeier provide an excellent introduction to the subject, with plenty of practical information for its main target readership. 5⭐

An eye-opening and vulnerable sharing of the author‘s coming-out story as non-binary, in a culture that still is largely fixated on people identifying as one gender or the other, even if they are LGBT. I particularly appreciated the author‘s emergence reflected in varying responses of friends and family and ongoing fear of coming out and how to articulate it. I could also appreciate the extreme pain of a Pap test! #Nonfiction2024 #Genderqueer

TheBookHippie I learned a lot reading this one. 4w

I've never read, nor thought about reading Jane Eyre, but I am loving this genderqueer retelling sans any context whatsoever.

The book tells the story of young Riley Cavanaugh, a gender fluid adolescent who writes a blog about their experiences and identity. The story revolves around Riley's life and their eventual decision to come out as gender fluid to the world.

I dip my brush into the surrounding light and begin to paint, erasing the cold blackness bit by bit, replacing it with warm, bright light. I get all the way to the far edge, until there‘s only a sliver of black remaining—
And I reach up with my brush and paint it white.

This book is an amazing resource; I‘m so glad it exists. My heart hurts for those individuals who have attempted binding with ace bandages or duct tape (!!). Hopefully the information contained in this slim graphic novel will prevent the injuries that can be caused by binding unsafely.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Cute story about finding yourself and your gender presentation.

Dawn discovers a love letter written between two women dating from the 1950s in a book she‘s rebinding and follows the mystery of who they are and what happened to them. What enfolds ends up mirroring her life in unexpected ways.

Predictable, but a good story and what I needed for the moment.

Ended up buying this on that kindle deal! Looks interesting!

Relaxing this morning (post earthquake yesterday 🫨) and waiting for the aftershocks to subside.

Love my new Diana Von Furstenburg pants so used them as a background 😂 🌱💚🤍💚
