It's an interesting story, to be sure, but at times the narrative reads more like non-fiction…which wasn‘t all bad…but the POV of the mother was infinitely more engaging than that of the professor. I feel like this should have hit deeper than it did…but that‘s not to say that I didn‘t like it, not at all...the subject matter was captivating and I enjoyed the mystery of it.

This is one of those books where you really feel like you know the characters by the end. What does a mother do when her 4 year old son keeps asking for his other mother? And his other house? And his brother Charlie? It takes a village to find out who this kid really is. A good, well written story that speaks to every mother out there.

What would you do if your four-year-old son claimed he had lived another life and that he wants to go back to it? That he wants his other mother? This story is eerie and provocative and compelling.

I thought the main story about Noah tried too hard to convince the reader that childhood memories of reincarnation was a real thing rather than just take it as a given, thus making the book almost a polemic. I found Andersen's plight with his aphasia much more interesting and would have liked it to have been the main focus.

Finished off book 6&7 for #BookSpinBingo yesterday, and I LOVED both of the books. Our House was suspenseful to the point of anxiety-inducing, but in the best possible way. I‘ll be thinking about it for years to come. And The Forgetting Time was just really interesting, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I only need one more to get a bingo and I‘ve already started Who Do You Love, so maybe I‘ll have my first bingo by tomorrow. @TheAromaofBooks

#WinterWonderland #TryToRemember. A mother has no idea how her young son knows certain things or why he talks about his other mom, one he doesn‘t have. Or does he? She is referred to a professor who specializes in case studies of reincarnation. What nobody knows yet is that the professor is starting to show signs of Alzheimer‘s. In between chapters of this touching story are actual true, real life accounts of reincarnation. A great book.

I‘m not especially successful with ebooks, but I‘m going to try this one. Modern Mrs. Darcy recommended it along with some other books I‘ve enjoyed. Hope you all had a great Fourth!

I loved the premise of this book. It explored the fascinating concept of reincarnation which is not a topic I would usually look for in a book! However, I did feel there was something lacking in the plot and I felt a sense of incompleteness when I'd finished reading. The exploration of one of the character's aphasia seemed a little rushed and out of place 6/10

Taking a quick nap before I dive into this one. Has anyone read this?

I can‘t begin to imagine how it would feel to have your child remember another mother. Not only to remember her but to pine for her and constantly ask when she is coming. This is Noah‘s story. A child who remembers his past life, a child who wants to go home. This book was at times heartbreaking and at times full of joy but always it was fascinating. A great read. 👍

This is so intriguing, I‘m picking it up at every opportunity.

I‘m enjoying this reincarnation driven story. Has anyone else read it?

This book is probably not for everyone but it was definitely for me. Two of the major themes are reincarnation (which I tend to believe in) and aphasia (which I struggled back from after having a massive stroke). So, as you can see, I could fully relate to most, if not all, of the story. It touched me on so many levels and so deeply that I‘m pretty sure I will never forget this book.

This book was so intriguing! It caused me to think deeply about things I normally wouldn‘t. I didn‘t love all of it, but it was entertaining and exceeded my expectations. #audiobook #overdrive

I've read one of these 😔

There is a fascinating premise here: 4 year old Noah has nightmares and a terrible fear of the past. He also keeps asking his mom if he can go home. This develops into an exploration of the possibility of reincarnation. I found the middle to be solid but the beginning and end a bit weaker for me. Definitely thought-provoking.

I finished this book in about a day and a half. The story was interesting and the characters were well developed. A very interesting concept. My rating = 4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Reincarnation meets murder mystery in this story. What would you do if your child kept asking for his other mother and never wanted to take a bath because of a real fear of drowning? Janie with the help of Anderson goes looking for answers about another life her son, Noah, might have possibly lived. I don't believe in reincarnation but still found it fascinating to contemplate what it would mean if I did.

I'm not finished with this one yet, but it's interesting reading about reincarnation... A little slow getting started though...

Slowly getting into this, kinda want to skip the Anderson chapters but getting there. Fascinating topic though, with really interesting excerpts throughout. If you're interested in life after death and reincarnation this might be your ☕️

I was hoping for a creepy book with an intellectual bent. This book about a boy who remembers a previous life tried for that, but the pace was too plodding for me. The last 1/4 of the book saved it from being a thumbs down.

I was close to giving up after the first hour, but the mother's heartache drew me in. I related to her struggles, and that kept me in the story. There were no simple solutions or easy answers. In the end, I just wanted to know how the story would resolve. Overall, I would rate it a 🤷‍♀️.

This story was interesting enough - and I cared about the characters. But at the end - it was just 'meh' for me.

Wow! This was a fascinating and thought provoking novel! On the surface, it is a mystery that delves into reincarnation but it is also much more than that. It is about motherhood, pain & loss, sacrifices and love. This page turner of a novel kept me up many nights trying to finish it.

This is a refreshing and original story! Heartbreaking at times (imagine your own child[ren] in Noah's/Tommy's shoes). I can picture a more fleshed out story that takes a closer look at family dynamics in times of tragedy, but I did enjoy this nonetheless.

Loved this book. Couldn't get myself to put it down. It's definitely something different. It's about a mother who realizes something is very wrong with her child. He refuses to bathe, talks very strangely about his other mother and how he wants to go home. This is definitely a book I would recommend to others.
