Throwin' it back to one of my favorite reads from last year. Loved how the authors changed the sad tale of Lady Jane Grey without really changing history. Historical fiction meets fantasy in such a fun read!

Reincarnation meets murder mystery in this story. What would you do if your child kept asking for his other mother and never wanted to take a bath because of a real fear of drowning? Janie with the help of Anderson goes looking for answers about another life her son, Noah, might have possibly lived. I don't believe in reincarnation but still found it fascinating to contemplate what it would mean if I did.

A Book Based on a Historical Event: This is my first book to read of Bill O'Reilly's & I learned a lot from it. I've read historical fiction about POW's in Japan that went into more detail about the atrocities our soldiers experienced but have never read more about the dropping of the A-Bombs than what I learned in school. This book has caused me to think and ask questions and to think some more.

What this story meant to me personally was that no matter what happens to us (even if it is something horrific) we have the choice and the power to stand up for ourselves, stand up for others & to stand up for what is right. It can be an experience where we are shredded to pieces but when we stand back up and begin to move forward we will truly come to see how strong we are.

Murder mystery meets historical fiction in this tale told through alternating timelines. Through Rowan (present day) and William (1921) we learn about the horrific night when Tulsa burned. It is sad to admit that I never learned about the race riots that took place in Tulsa in 1921 until I read this book. I love how the author prompts us to reflect on race relations in the past and the present.

I've always taken great pride in the fact that my middle name is spelled Anne with an 'e'.
