so-soWell, this feels like an odd book to read and review during such an emotional week. But when I started it, I had no idea. It‘s the second book in a trilogy, so more of a transitional story than one with much forward movement. That frustrated me. But if you‘re looking for an ironic, sarcastic, somewhat silly vampire story, this is a fun series.

bailedI started listening to this and didn't get very far before the author made a rape joke and I just noped right the hell out of there. If that is what passes as his humor I didn't need to hear one word more. Having sex with someone while they aren't conscious is not acceptable. Yes it is a work of fiction, but this is what normalizing rape looks like. I mean, would you want your son thinking that is ok? I sure don't. Just my 2 cents.

pickI chose this book for my Monthly Keyword Reading Challenge not realizing I should have started with Bloodsucking Fiends. Didn‘t matter. I was able to follow along with the story & I still found it hysterical. I think I‘ll read the first book anyway & I‘ll be reading Bite Me for sure.
I also chose it bc I went to San Francisco. Some of it takes place in a SF Safeway so I was sure to take its picture in there. Too bad I forgot the dust jacket.
I did a blind date with a book swap! This one was listed as:

pickYou Suck was hilarious and it was an awesome sequel to its predecessor Bloodsucking Fiends!! I can‘t wait to reread the third book and finally understand the backstory. Funny story I was given Bite Me as a bday gift from my mom not knowing it was the third book in a series. Despite not knowing half the time what the hell was going on I still really enjoyed it 🤣🤣🤣.
This one finally came in the mail today! So excited its signed by Moore 😊 had to pay a little extra but totally worth it!

pickThoroughly entertaining and extremely wry and funny... I have enjoyed many of Christopher Moore's books and this is my pick for #booktober "Supernatural Beings." I had difficulty with this one because I didn't want to have to return to Discworld... I don't read a huge amount of things that would qualify.
One of the #bestsidekicks has to be Abby Normal in Christopher Moore's vampire series, A Love Story!
Susan Bennett narrates the audiobook and does a perfect job with Abby.
