If you saw the movie and liked, you will love the book. 10 times better. This is my favorite Grisham book.

Finished The Pelican Brief recently. Enjoyed it, but didn‘t think it was as great as some of my friends did. I think it‘s just too dated and unrealistic for me to have liked it as much as they remembered. Overall 3⭐️
Not the most PC novel, but it's been on my shelf for ages and like a lot of mysteries, it follows a slew of different characters. Soooo gonna be using it for a book with multiple POVs 🤷🏽♀️
P.S. Yes, those are Mickey Mouse PJ pants. No shame 😅
Thanks for the tag @Jerdencon . Also thanks for reminding me of John Grisham! 🤣
1. Deadwood
2. Slightly cooler temps! 👏👏👏

Person by me: *looks over* Whoa! That‘s an old book!
Me: *looks up the copyright, which is 1992* *looks over the person, who appears to be a guy in his 30s* What‘s that make you? Ancient?
Person: Uhhh....

Ok so this is a very old article but I was totally unaware of this. What. The. Hell. https://www.cnn.com/2014/10/16/showbiz/celebrity-news-gossip/john-grisham-child-...
Grisham is always good for a page-turner. Darby Shaw, a Tulane law student, teams up with a Washington post reporter to get to the bottom of 2 assassinations. Lots of intrigue, spying, and chases. Perfect winter break read. #40thbdaychallenge #1993.
#Marchintothe70s I‘m pretty sure I spent most of the 90s reading everything by John Grisham. This story set in the #BlueBayou opens with the shocking double murder of two Supreme Court Justices. Darby Shaw, a law school student writes a brief believing that the assassinations were committed on behalf of an oil tycoon who seeks to drill on Louisiana marshland making these deaths an environmental issue not political. Intrigue & espionage ensue.
I love Grisham's early books. All fast-paced reads and (mostly) easy for a layperson to understand the legal jargon. Also, Darby is a wonderfully strong female character, which only adds to my enjoyment.
My next read is a book I know I'll keep - I know I prefer the older books of John Grisham's to the newer ones, but that won't stop me from rereading them all. 🙂
John Grisham always delivers. I‘ve seen the movie, just never read the book until now. Just another awesome book that is so much better than the movie.
Not a Black Friday haul but seems my regular weekend book haul. Gah, I really need to learn self restraint.😅 #buyingbanfailed #prelovedbooks #bookhaul #tbrpile

You would think working for a political library I would know more political fiction. #photodaynov16 #political fiction
I think this is one of the only #politicalfiction books I've read, idk. Anyways, I liked it a lot!! Only Grisham book I've read but I'm glad it was this one.
#tbt to an unexpected find in a hotel gift shop that made 27 hours on a train bearable. In 1993, I went to Disney World with my high school band. On the train. That should tell you all you need to know. But I had read all my books on the train down, so I needed something to occupy my time on the trip home. I pulled this off a display the morning we left, and I was immediately engrossed in politics and journalism and law. Still my favorite Grisham.
John Grisham never disappoints. He somehow makes the south likable, even to someone is who no big fan of slow southern drawls and fried pickles. His stories are intriguing and encapsulating. You really can't go wrong with one of his books.
