This book spells out Trumps Russia and Putin connections for decades leading up to his winning the election in 2016. It also brings to light the infiltration of Russia into many aspects of the Republican Party and on a lesser scale into the Democratic Party. Trump is joined at the hip to Putin. Just as Victor Orban is. Russia is a huge factor in American and European politics. Deeply depressing and well documented book.

I had this book on hold since before the election 😳 and finally got it last month. It was a tough, maddening, heartbreaking and frightening read. Not only because of the blatant lies the American public are being fed and the ridiculous rewriting of facts to cover up the real truth, but because so many people believe it all. 🤯 It‘s a shame those who need to read this book never will.
P.S. Audiobook is wonderfully narrated by Rachel Maddow.

I was eager to read this book and quickly grabbed it off of the library shelf when it arrived, but I‘m so glad to have finished it. The author has been closely reporting on the right, in fascist and highly abusive spaces for a while now; this isn‘t easy. Here, she tells the story of how Fred Brennan‘s creation of 8chan birthed the nightmare we are seeing in America today, and reminds us that you cannot separate racism from misogyny. This ⬇️

JenniferEgnor book is worth the read, though much of its content is hard to stomach. Elle is brave and I‘m grateful for her journalism. This book reminded me of another book I read: Troll Nation, by Amanda Marcotte. The two are similar; Troll Nation was my first education about the incel movement and the disgusting social media platform called Gab🐸. I‘ll be listening to interviews with Elle on whatever podcasts I find, and watch her documentary again. (edited) 3w

I wanted this short mystery about a dangerous plot in the Library of Congress to be more fun. Memo to me: you are not into mystery.

February was just not a good month for reading. Tagged and Omelas were both re-reads I let myself put on the card so it would look nicer. Besides, if you haven't read Eco's “Ur Fascism“, you should. Personal highlight was Beck&Call, which is a solid gay romance about working class men. It's not cosy - there's blackmail, job loss, cPTSD, and the relationship is rocky for a long time.

Starting this tonight with Sophie. His other book , “On Tyranny”is a must read ! Shorter than this one and a recent reread for me .

Mimi28 Cute kitty 🐈‍⬛ I am thinking of starting a #litsypetprayerbook is that bad or weird? Be honest. It would basically be a list of all the Litsy pets and their names and we could I dunno start a pen pal group about them or do it on here. We encourage each other why not do it for the pets also? 🤷🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ 1mo

I just got this book from my library. It surprised me very much. I thought it would be a tiny book, much like two other books by this author which I recently read. Not only is it a longer book, but it seems to be a bit more difficult to understand. I‘m not really sure about this. I found the Preface a bit challenging, but I‘m going to give it my best try.

Looking forward to the Dworkin reissues! (Great covers imo.) I‘ve read 2 of these 3, and had to read them as pdfs 🙃 so we‘re well overdue for the reprint.
