This is a silly, quirky, amazing story and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series (c‘mon USPS, hurry up!!). I loved the humor and I got very strong Sir Terry Pratchett vibes - which I do not throw around loosely because very little compares to his books. If you need a palate cleanser that isn‘t just fluff, this is it. I want to recommend it to everyone!!

I am loving this “silly book” kick that I‘m on 😁 This one has me laughing out loud with the witty dialogue and I really want to re-watch Shrek because of it 😂

Started a new "feel good fiction" shelf on my Goodreads, because I expect The House in the Cerulean Sea is gonna be cheerful and heart warming. The only other books I could think of to add to it were the Thursday Murder Club books and the tagged... maybe the Hamish Macbeth mysteries too if I remembered them better...

Trying to get into this, but it's slow going. But some of the jokes remind me of the mother goose play my son was in in 8th grade

Driving to book club in an hour to discuss my pick for this month, and I just finished the treat I‘m bringing.

I could totally lie and say that the cupcakes are the broken egg of Humpty Dumpty and the wall he was on, but really I just wanted to play around with flavors! 😂

I absolutely love this author's sense of humor. Great story but I admit I loved the 2 books in the Eyre Affair I've read better. I just got Shades of Grey I'll read next of his. I'm still sad about this cover tho. Kindle books deserve better covers!

That tells you everything you need to know! 😂 The book is not quite as bonkers as the Thursday Next novels (they're kind of related, though), but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I had a lot of fun, even if I had to look up some characters from English nursery rhymes.
It's my pick for 'murder investigation' for the #SFFTBRChallenge.

Duologies, trilogies and more for #RiotGrams was hard, I stared at my shelves for ages.

I‘d quite like to read the conclusion (The Last Great Tortoise Race) of the Nursery Crime Division someday... it‘s not mentioned on Jasper Fforde‘s website though and I went pretty far down an internet rabbit hole before I found him promising that it would happen in a guardian article from 2016.

Got this from a free shelf in a cool bar. It hooked me on Jasper Fforde. So clever. Love!

I love all of Jasper Fforde's books. This is one of his 2 Nursery Crime Series, and I love it.

I didn‘t get any reading done on Thanksgiving, but I did raid my son and DIL‘s library. Sticking with Jasper Fforde, but taking a break from Thursday Next.

Found this parking ticket in this book. I apparently was trying to read it right before my twins were born and failed to get past the first few chapters. 😳😬 time to finally read this... 2.5 years later...

Here's my #funnybook for #riotgrams today. Clever, funny and very, very meta. I just wish Fforde could write faster!

from eggs to animals to homicidal gingerbread-men, there are a whole bunch of #anthropomorphiccharacters in Jasper Fforde's hardboiled Nursery Crime series.

slightly different style than Fforde's Thursday Next series, though his signature humor and wit is abundant throughout. I read this book in 8th grade and was immediately hooked on all Fforde's books forevermore.

I really liked this. It was easy to read, and actually a decent whodunnit ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
