pickI finally finished Caraval. I have to admit I wasn‘t sold in the beginning. First, the whole magic theme seemed more creepy than magical to me. But I was pleasantly surprised by the end and didn‘t put it down until 2:30am. The second book is from a different person perspective (no spoiler) and I think I might like the second even better.

Only a few chapters in, but I'm already hooked! ✨ The voice is immediately relatable, the writing is strong and clear, and the plot is masterful. ✨ Can totally see why it's an international best seller!
pickOh. My . God. Why did it take me this long to finally pick this book off my tbr pile?!? I got swept up in the magic of Caraval right long with the players. From the romance, the sister love and the driving plot line this books is a wild ride from start to finish. I love Scarlet, I loved watching her go from scared to strong. pickDefinitely a must read for all YA lovers. This book was so good, a lot of unexpected things happened and the love Scarlett felt for her sister is one of the strongest things from the book. I really enjoyed it, a light reading and good characters.

pickThis is not the typical type of book I read, but I kept running into positive reviews. I listened to it on audible and really enjoyed it. Part mystery, part magical romp, the characters learning of themselves and their motivations was fascinating. I really enjoyed the authors descriptions of emotions by color.

so-soI had a love hate relationship with this one. There were moments when I thought WTF? It's not everyone's cuppa tea. The cover is gorgeous though 😍
so-soI'm still not sure on this one! I so wanted to get to the ending to figure it all out, but the ending frustrated me since the main character was so forgiving. Maybe I'm just not as forgiving, but I would have been pissed if that was me!!!!

pick4/5 Caraval was one of my most anticipated reads this year. (And I just happened to have this awesome mask to match my edition!) It was magical, mysterious and intriguing. But I will say that I would've liked less romance and more Caraval description. It ends in a pretty enticing manner though, so hopefully we will find out more to come.
