This month‘s book club book is Killers of the Flower Moon by David Grann. It‘s really good, but so hard to read. I live in the county next to where this took place.

I am at the Oklahoma Teen Book Con. It‘s so awesome to see all these kids gathered to talk about books!!! Maggie Stiefvater is the keynote speaker. Squee!This is the building we‘re in.

I enjoyed this historical ghost story set 90 minutes from my home town! It takes place in a real building I googled to find pictures. I‘m going to a convention next Saturday and the author will be there. Also, this is my first post with my iPhone 8 plus so let‘s see how the picture turns out.

As a teen services librarian I like to keep up with what the kids are reading. I don't typically care for contemporary YA, but I've heard this is good. Here's hoping!

It's 12:40 am. I just read half this book. If I don't stop now, I will read the other half. Must sleep. #notsleepy

I had to skim this for my cataloging class and now I want to abandon my TBR and just reread this!

I have read 158 pages of this book. All in doctors' waiting rooms. That is a good indication of the last month of my life.

My daughter and I went book shopping today. I meant to get a book for my husband's birthday, but I forgot. Guess I'll have to go back later!

I am a teen librarian. One of the kids I work with asked me to read his summer assignment with him. Daaaawwwwww. I'm a sucker for a cute kid.

I made a book journal! I knew only you guys would understand my nerdiness. This is the page where I keep track of books I read in July. When I finish, I color it in.

There is no practice more vexing than that of authors describing coach travel for the edification of people who have already travelled in coaches.

Just started Bill Bryson's latest. He might be getting just a touch past crotchety and verging on "get off my lawn" territory.

Bedtime cuddles with this book and my puppy (who is clearly less enthused than I am). Getting ready for number 4!

I finished it. 600 pages. Almost in one sitting. The thing I appreciated the most is that it isn't dumbed down. I hate when YA books tell instead of show. This one lets you figure it out. Epic!

Already halfway through this one. It's pretty gripping.

This month's book club pick. Have you read it?

Oklahoma has a yearly children's book award which is voted on by readers. I just got the nominees for next year's award and I'm reading them. This was on the middle school list. I liked the main character, but the time travel element was wonky.

This book was everything I expected and a bunch that I didn't expect. I expected fluffy drama. I didn't expect to laugh out loud. I didn't expect to actually like any of the characters. I didn't expect to feel intelligent. I was pleasantly surprised.
