I loved the first book so much, I carried on and binged the second. Just as fun -I am hooked and have started book 3.

I'm enjoying this time travel slash murder mystery series 👏🏽 Kendra Donovan is a modern day FBI agent and criminal profiler who has found herself back in the 1800s. She doesn't know how/if/when she'll be able to get back to her own time, but for now she helps solve murders as they pop up. My one and only gripe is that each book is a bit longer than is probably necessary.
PS: Book one is A Murder in Time.
Genres: Mystery, Historical Fiction, Historical mystery, Time Travel Fiction
Started: Nov.11th, 2019
Completed: Nov.20th,2019
How did you choose the book: Is it a series of Julie McElwain books.
Summary: Kendra must navigate the treacherous nineteenth century while she picks through the strands of Lady Dover s life. Including following every twist and turn through glittering ballrooms, where deception is the norm and any attempt of uncover.

Another #seriesread accomplished! The setting is a gritty view of London as contrasted with the bucolic country estate from the first book. While I kind of figured out whodunnit, this was an interesting story. I‘m also surprised and a little amused that Kendra hasn‘t lost her potty mouth by now! 🤣

I am just so in love with this CSI/Downton Abbey-esque detective series. Kendra Donavan is a badass who cuts through the red tape of sexism and aristocracy in a time before women usually did so. Moving on to the next and last one published!
"We must live in the present, even as we attempt to build something that will last into the future. However, we can never be certain of our legacy, if it's strong enough to be sustained or if it will simply fade away, a memory forgotten."
Well now my crazy life makes sense! It's that insane, blindfolded lady spinning her damn wheel! 😂
When you have to Google what a stiletto weapon is because you can't focus on reading without knowing what it looks like. Hopefully the Google spies don't show up at my house thinking I'm planning a murder! 🔪😳😉
I chose to read the first in this series a while back purely because the covers are just SO pretty! 😍 I enjoyed it so much I'm reading the second one in hopes it pulls me out of my KOA book hangover STAT. Fingers crossed for me!
I loved every second of this book! The murderer was a little easier to figure out in this one than the first but there was plenty of suspense and mystery to make up for it. Kendra is easily becoming one of my favorite characters!! 5/5⭐️
Second in the series, this was a good mystery, though I did figure it out by the end. I enjoyed the modern woman in the 1800s parts of the story.
If a book has a pretty dress on the cover, involves time travel, and has romance then there is an 90% chance I will love it! This series has all that plus a murder solving heroine! I love the character of Kendra Donavan, an 21st century FBI agent, stuck in 19th century England. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
My two most anticipated holds came in at the same time and the struggle is real trying to decide which to read first 😱
Sucked me right in. I love the history, characters, twists, all of it. You should read the first book before this one, it is not a good stand alone. Glad the third does not come out for a couple of weeks. I really have school work and work for my job to do...but I could not stop reading.
I liked the second book - Kendra as an FBI agent going back in time lends itself to humor and a good mystery. The romance fanatic in me wants Kendra and Alec to make their relationship work 😀
Yay! This finally came in on my #Overdrive holds. I have been in such a reading slump this month (just very busy and not a lot of motivation), but I am hoping this one will get me back in action. I have been waiting to get this sequel for months, and am super excited to see how the mystery develops in this installment.
Kendra hasn't been able to return to her own time yet, and gets sucked into another murder investigation when Alec falls under suspicion of murdering his former mistress.
An enjoyable read, though I didn't love it. My favorite part of the book is the time travel aspect - as a "foreigner" to the time, Kendra can ask questions and raise issues that the reader may wonder about. It was also a good mystery, leaving me guessing till the end.
I enjoyed the first book in this series a bit more but also glad to learn more about these characters in this second book. Fun read for those interested in historical fiction. I am hoping the next novel focuses a little more on the developing relationship between Kendra and the Marquis.
This year I read more books than I ever have before! On to the next year of reading!
Love this series. Unexpectedly delightful. (And gorgeous covers too.)
Without the shock factor of a modern day FBI agent finding herself suddenly thrust into Regency England, this read a lot more like other historical mysteries featuring an "ahead of her time" female sleuth, only in this case it's literal.
Still a great read full of distinct characters but I'm hoping in the next one there's a little more tension/progress with the "how am I getting back to my own time" plot line which wasn't much in this book.
Not finished yet but liking more than the first. This book starts right with the murder and the investigation. I wish the romance part was a little more developed but liking the mystery.
A little backyard reading

I love Kendra Donovan and this series!
Another fun ride in this series. I really love the direction the overall story arc is moving in. Can't wait for the next book.
Enjoyed the first novel in this series, hoping this one is just as good.
This is a fun series. A modern day FBI agent somehow ends up in Regency England, and has to solve crimes. The mystery was interesting but the best parts are a modern woman dealing with the restrictions of the time. This would be a fun TV show. Now on to the next book.
Such a fun read! I do hope there's another book in this series!
I love the concept of this series - Kendra, FBI Agent, falls in a wormhole and time travels to 1800s England. She has to reconcile modern norms with cultural norms of the time, while solving murders. But, K seems to think or act in a condescending manner. And, while she is used to 21st century gender norms (equality, for what it is), she fails to recognize similarities in the 1800s. Regardless, these are fun and I'll continue to follow the series.
Tonight's reading. I loved the first book in this series. The story in this one hasn't gotten started yet. I love the cover!
I'm picking this as my most anticipated book of the month. I loved the first one, so I'm excited that this came in fairly quickly at my library. #MayMostAnticipated #MayBookFlowers @RealLifeReading
Evening reading. I really enjoyed the first one in the series and hope that this one is as good.
So excited for this book!! I loved the first one.
As it turns out, I wouldn't be an attractive female in London, 1815. #letterT for #LitsyAtoZ was a sequel about a modern FBI agent who time travels, quite by accident, and solves murders, even though she doesn't have the benefit of modern science and basically everyone she meets is all "but you're a woman!"
I rarely read in bed, but this morning I am enjoying my coffee here with my book. #litsypartyofone continues!
#litsypartyofone with some ice water and my snuggly Chiefs blanket. Your posts are making me wish I had picked up some wine for my drink, but I can always get some for day 2 of the festivities! Happy reading, Littens!
Ok, so I'm in the middle of 3 other books I don't have time to read right now, but while I have a pre-workout salad and beer (I know, I know, but it's been a day) I just have to read a few pages of A Twist in Time since I pre-ordered it and it came today. I probably should have glanced through the first book to refresh but today, ain't nobody got time fo dat.
This was a fun, fast mystery with a slow burn romance. I really enjoyed it! Fans of the first in the series won't be disappointed!
Releases April 11!

Morning reading! 📚 This is the sequel to A Murder in Time, which I loved. #netgalley
Available April 11, 2017!
It's cold, I'm tired, and I want to set things on 🔥 so I read 📚💙 (I really enjoyed the first in this series and so far this one is great!)
Kendra Donavan is still stuck back in time. Alec, her love interest, is under suspicion of murder of his former lover, Lady Dover. Kendra arrived in London to try and solve the murder before it's too late for Alec.
What a fun, quick read! There were numerous potential killers and I wasn't sure who had done it until the end. If you haven't read her previous novel, A Murder in Time, you should pick it up immediately!
Thanks #NetGalley
