🤣 That quote pretty much says it all about this book. There is not insta-luv here, they can't even find each other esthetically pleasingly to the eye! Their banter is down right hilarious. The pace of the book is a little slow, but it was worth it to me. Both MCs have great qualities. Grace Draven always makes wonderful characters that grow to love each other-- claws and all!

I am not gonna lie, I was anxiety ridden throughout this whole damn book! I kept wondering when (not if) Lara was going to get caught. Lara has been brainwashed since she was little, so the fact that she didn't think the king was a lying POS and didn't questioned the bull he was feeding her was surprising-- to me-- but not to her. She is f**king kick-ass though! Aren? Scrumptious, sweet, and fierce. Rarrr! 😼 I can't wait for the next book!

I honestly think I must have been in a funk while reading this book, for some reason I couldn't completely care about the characters in this book. The feeling kept slipping through my fingers. This had nothing to do with the authors writing, I think the MFC just frustrated me. Her feelings were wishy washy and she was impulsive, getting herself in stupid situations. Big pet peeve for me. Personal preference definitely influenced this rating. 😕

This was not a bad book overall. I liked how the main MFC was optimistic (a lot of internal dialogue there) and the MMC was shy but strong; however, I didn't like how the author takes forever to get to the action, then at 80% shit gets real and you need to read the next book. Spoiler alert: same thing happens in the next one. So, while the writing was good and the characters were sweet enough to make your teeth rot, it gets a little repetitive.

Okay, I am pretty much in the minority with a negative review on this, but, I didn't like it. It took forever to get to the point and the heroine MC was a extremely indecisive and was so unsure of what she wanted, I was getting whiplash. She also tends to cut off her nose despite her face and doesn't use her brain. I am not about that teenage [type] angst, so this book was NOT for me. 😒

This is a difficult book to review, if I'm being honest. It wasn't long enough for me to be fully divested in the characters and it was fairly predictable (aka: bad guys). The flow, how it was written, was odd for me. Honestly you would have to read it to understand (I think). Perhaps if it was longer and more well rounded I would have loved it more, but it ended up falling short. The premise was great-- not the execution. 😥

Alright! So, I FINALLY read this after it being on my shelf for a bit. I have a love/hate relationship with Jude, she is a catastrophy waiting to happen; However, I can understand her line of thinking. My biggest gripe about this book would be: predictability. I do like the story though, it was twisted with flawed characters (my favorite). If you are looking for cuteness, candy, ❤️'s and insta luv, this is NOT it.

Overall? 3.5 - 4 Envious Stars

I can't do it. This chick went two minutes after being debriefed NOT do go into "the green", aka: Danger zone, and did it anyway. But, hey, it's okay. She can hear the trees, so she is exempt (apparently). She pretty much states she is going to do whatever she wants. I mean, what do those indeginous ppl know about their planet anyway? ?
I see this woman getting into trouble for stupid choices (on her part).? I am saving myself the headache. ✌️

*FREEBIE* Second book I have read by this author and was not super impressed. It was redundant and it flipped flopped from POV's repeating exactly what you read, verbatim, not from a different view. Then the chemistry between the main MCs wasn't really there for me, it fell flat. I will say the male was refreshing w/boyish charm and not alpha business tycoon, but I was still not diggin the execution of this story. Needs reformatting and edits.

How you gonna do me like this T. A. White? I didn't know this was a trilogy and now I have to wait! Damn it! 🥺 This was SUCH a good book! Even though I got continually pissed because people kept treading over the MC, she was STILL a badass! Be still my beating 💓, I can't help but love a strong BA chick. She better start typing this next book out-- AHORA! I am waiting!!!! 😼

This one was sitting on my shelf for a bit and I am glad, only because I can pick up the next book. This was a quick read, it read like a YA; however, this had cussing in it and some carnage. The MC was good, but she droned on a lot (woe is me) at times. Some romance though it isn't the main part with a beta male. Entertaining and a quick read, but not one that leaves you breathless and dreaming about it for days. Still worth a look see. 😁

This was a pretty good book, but I had a disconnect with the main characters. The story started off in the middle for them so, when they got together and were feeling guilty about the past, I didn't really care. I think it was a good (but slow) start for the series. I am looking forward to reading about the other characters now that I have a base to go off of. (FYI, this does have some sex scenes, so not kid friendly. Oh, and no Alpha male.)

Okay, so here we go on another Highlander time travel book. This whole book was completely rushed. It felt like someone hit the fast forward button on it. The H and h were in love in about a day and then a whole lot of eye rolling commenced. I think this could have been a good book if beefed up. It felt slapped together and it had a decent premise but a horrible execution-- I should have bailed out and that is on me.

This author ensures some sexy, dirty, and erotic scenes for this series (just a heads up). I was digging the story until it started oozing drama--I can personally do without that. However it was interesting enough for me to carry on! These books also have characters from the original Fae Chronicles, but you don't have to read that first. It does give away somethings should you ever read the Fae Chronicles though. Happy reading.

If I am being honest, it took me a while to get into this book. It is setup in an odd "time" where magic rolls through and various creatures mix with people. I felt the authors were a little repetitive, but overall good. Kate Daniels is a straight up shit talker, but thankfully she has sword skills to back it up. The characters are all pretty quirky and I blew right though this book after the first few chapters.

Beachesnbooks It‘s confusing at first but the series gets better and better with the next books! 6y

I have no idea why this book wasn't more amazing to me. It had a lot of good points to it, good plot, and I still found myself skimming through it. Maybe I am just not a fan of the authors writing? I'm not sure. This is just one of those times that I am at a complete loss emotionally and I can not find the words. Horrible review (I know) but maybe the right words will come to me later? 🤔

So I have this on *spoilers* because of my language. I'm not gonna lie, I have read a few of these books by Ruby Dixon and I'm not sure why. What am I looking for or thinking is going to change in these books? Just short smut filled books that have big blue aliens with big d**ks and tongues that have ridges on them. They all pair with human females. Even if the scenarios change the couple's do not, it is redundant. Just my opinion here.

EloisaJames It‘s true...the idea wears off. But for some reason I really liked the first few I read. Then I thought maybe it was the combo of a blue vibrating guy who has no choice but to adore you? Pure wish fulfillment. But then I remembered how much I like being clean and not pregnant and the charm of the books wore off. 6y
Usagi Bahahahaa! I do think the writing is pretty good, not gonna lie, but it did become redundant after a few books. You are right though, having someone that wants you and is completely smitten with you-- that is quite alluring in these books. 6y

This book finally brings us into Shea's Pathfinder world, giving us answers about her background and revealing traitorous plots behind the Keep's walls. Shea and Fallon's dynamic have leveled out and made them stronger, which is great because I don't like when characters spin their wheels with the same drama. I was a little let down with the ending, but perhaps the author will do a novella?? Overall a great book and trilogy!

After reading most of this authors other books in this 'universe' I decided to dip into the book that started it all. It was different than I expected, I actually didn't get into this book until about 70%. Cat and Bones were a very sweet combination; however, reading here and there about them in the other books had painted a different picture. But I like how this book ended and I will be delving into the next book soon.

I did NOT expect to like this book. It came across Bookbub for 99¢ and I like the author so I thought, 'why not'? There is some angst because of the main male MC, but for the most part they both have good heads on their shoulders so it isn't too bad. The supporting characters are, eh, but you don't hear from them too much. It is a little slow paced at some parts. But overall a quick read, great for a short flight.

I honestly thought there would be a lot of push back and forth with the main characters, you know? Some serious spicy sexual tension-- not so much. Valerie was sassy and wanna be bad. Griffin, for being the king of beasts he wasn't very ferocious. Kind of a puppy following Valerie around with a faux gruff exterior. I wasn't invested in their story. I am a hit and miss with this Author though, so maybe I will click with the characters next time?
