I rarely bail on a book but I‘m quitting this one at 56% on this one. Narrator‘s voice is wrong for the heroine, the sister character is cartoon-awful, and I‘m just bored. Such a bummer because I‘d been looking forward to this one for a while 👎🏽

This book is really disappointing. Fun idea if you're an Outlander fan but the main character was annoyingly naive, not in a cute way and the writing was not good. 30 yrs old, from Chicago, and not a shred of commonsense. Goes on a quest to follow Claire's path in Scotland to meet her own Jamie, gets into these weird, cringy situations that I found more annoying than charming. Gave up on finishing it. Hoped this would be fun but it wasn't.
Cute story but fairly predictable and not a ton of substance to the characters.
Some of this was a really cute story, but the fact that our MC seems to define herself by her relationship to men (to the extent that she allows a boyfriend to completely play her) really bugged me.
Emma is #LivingForLove ...that is, hoping to find a real life James Fraser, of Outlander fame. So, she decides to travel around Scotland in search of Jamie and of love. It sounds quirky and cute - on my to read list. #Movember

3. The story is long, but the short version is: camping trip, friend set us up, he kept disappearing, he was making rude comments, other guys asked if I wanted him thrown in the lake, I got all the s‘mores I wanted, he asked another girl to stay in his tent (which I was happy about, but he said I had to stay with them too so he “wasn‘t tempted”), they started dating the next day 👇🏻

This was a cute and cozy read. Nice and easy. Like taking a little vacation to Scotland. I needed it all.
Book 5 finished for #SummersEndReadathon
@Clwojick
I picked the slowest line at the grocery store. Not on purpose. But I made the most of it. I read many, many pages on my phone while I waited.

A young woman ventures off to Scotland in search of her own Jamie Fraser.
I needed a palate cleanser after The Poisonwood Bible, and a recent review by @AsYouWish grabbed my interest.
This is a fun, light romcom about a woman who embarks on a solo trip to bonnie Scotland in search of her own Jamie Fraser. MC Emma is delightfully silly, the descriptions of her travels, the people she meets, and her blog posts are charming, and the writing is solid.
Probably best enjoyed by Outlander/JAMMF fangirls (like me).
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wow!! This book is an interesting ride! It is the story of Emma, a woman from Chicago, who loves Outlander (the book not the show), and needs a change. So she sets off to Scotland to find her own Jaime Fraser. She starts a blog to talk about her journey to find the man of her dreams, but along the way she finds something more. It is well written, funny & it made me want to go to Scotland even more than I already do. Highly recommend!!

What a cute, fun, read, somewhat reminiscent of a Kinsella book with a Bridget Jones MC.
29 year old Emma is an obsessed Outlander fan who trots off to Scotland in search of her own “Jamie Fraser” whilst blogging her journey. Let‘s be real here, what Jamie Fraser fan hasn‘t fantasized of doing this themself? I will unabashedly admit, I have! Fan-fiction at its best, but if Diana Gabaldon approves, who am I to complain.
Congrats @Nessavamusic on your awesome milestone!!! And thank you so much for doing this awesome #10KLaborDayGiveaway
The tagged book is one I have been looking at for a while and I love romance books!
I think this is my first real #BlameItOnLitsy buy😬
Thank you to @Alfrazier21 for posting about this book! As a massive Outlander fan, I had to read this one. 😬😂🙌💛📚

Overall this was a quick and funny read. While you don‘t have to be a fan of Outlander to enjoy the book, it certainly made it more enjoyable knowing what Emma was searching for. Although I didn‘t love the story (I found it to be a bit predictable and cheesy), it was a cute read. If you‘ve ever had a book boyfriend and you like Chick Lit, this one may be for you!
Day 3 of 7 days of books I love! No explanation, no reviews, just covers! 😃 #favouritebooks #scotland
Two books in a row set in Scotland for me. This was definitely the weaker. There were too many "duh" moments for me to feel empathy for the main character and I thought it was super odd for the blog post chapters to end with, "see 42 additional comments here." Here, where? No explanation given. I found the conflict to be contrived and predictable. And that Gabaldon is never acknowledged by name was just...dumb. What? Is her name copyrighted?
I don't know how long I can stick with this. Not only do I find the narrator's voice and terminal perkiness annoying (not to mention all the accents) but the heroine has done the unthinkable - behaved like a stupid and naive girl.
I don't know how this actual book reads but the "Susan" character had a horrible changing accent that gave away her true nature. Yet our plucky little heroine gives this woman about half of her available cash.
Oh man. It's like Bridget Jones. But for Outlander instead of P&P. Ha! I'm kinda tempted...
I loved this book. It's light, sweet and funny. You don't need to be a fan of Outlander to appreciate it; you simply need to have had a 'book boyfriend' that sets the standard. It also becomes a great tourist guide to Scotland and I want to visit that country even more!!
A very cute read about finding love. ❤️
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Cute quirky book for outlander fans everywhere! I feel like there wasn't too much Jamie and Claire. It left me with a smile on my face although it was predictable like many cutesy novels. Fun easy read. I'm ready to lace up my tennis shoes and head to Scotland to find my Jamie!

#fanfichomage to Outlander and Jamie Fraser. I haven't read it yet but it looks fun!
Light and funny, but i didn't think the writing was very good and parts of the story felt like the author was trying too hard to be witty and relevant. Or, maybe I just don't have patience for chick lit the way I used to.
I was tagged by the lovely @madhattriss to do #currentlyreading and #lilbookishnovember is Title Page of Current Read
I'm currently reading #thefierycross and #outlander Season 2 arrived today so some binge watching is probably in order!
A quick, fun read, solid 3.5. Minus points for the racism/exoticizing, and the dismal description of highland dance (not entirely fair as I'm biased as a highland dancer); plus points for some of the racism/exoticizing being called out in the narrative, and for not being completely heteronormative. It would make a super fun movie.
finished one bus book today and got the next all lined up
I went to B&N to get a copy of the Newsweek Hamilton special edition, but they were sold out (of course). So I soothed myself with some new books. My book problem is as bad as my yarn problem.
I adore the Outlander series with all my ❤️ and readily admit that Jamie Fraser is the ideal fictional man. Yet, I couldn't get into this book mainly due to not liking the lead character. I stopped half way into the book and opted to read the Lord John series to help me through my Outlander withdrawal.
I feel like I've been treading water lately so I decided it was time to reach for a lighthearted read. And what could be more feel good and appealing than the search for a braw man in a kilt--especially one modeled after Jamie Fraser?
This book begs to have a glass of wine in hand while reading. So far, it's funny and charming! If you loved Outlander, you should read this book as well because we've all thought about what it would be like to have a Jamie Fraser type guy in our lives 😍 I'm lucky to have a wonderful husband to be mine 😘
Took a quick trip to the bookstore today hoping to pick up HP. Unfortunately they ran out half an hour before I got there, but I came home with some other fun reads instead 🤓
Just a few books to get me through #Droughtlander.
I'm finally getting to start this! I have a feeling I'm going to LOVE it!
I am desperately needing a book with a happy (not bittersweet) ending. This novel is Diana Gabaldon approved, and I am loving it so far- the chapters follow the same alliteration as the title!
Definitely not lit but a funny, mindless beach read. If you've read any of the Outlander series, you'll smile but might not be as enjoyable if you haven't.
Any book that calls the protagonist "bat-shit crazy at the beginning, has got to be a fun read.
