My first #WeeklyFavorite of 2024.
This carried over from 2023 and was a book I liked, but not as much as the first in the series. This book is 1 of 15 that carried over from last year‘s #Roll100 list to this year‘s so I‘m extremely happy to have completed it. Book 3 is one of my #Roll100 books for January so I hope this ends on a high note.

I always seem to enjoy Jenny Colgan‘s novels (I‘m reading another one right now) and the audiobooks are typically filled with British charm. This one was sweet at times, incredibly sad at times, and just a Christmassy bag of entertainment. I haven‘t read the 1st book in the series but I definitely will! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 #wintergames #SantasBookshELVES
Loved this Colgan book as I continue holiday reading for #wintergames ❤️ her cozy small town stories full of quirky characters. Kept track of words this time, may not always as it is a lot of work!

This lovely book was gifted to me by my visiting sister earlier this month. And true to my Jenny Colgan experience it‘s the 2nd in a series and I have not read the original. But per usual, Jenny does a great job of filling in the necessary backstory as she weaves a fully new story her. I appreciate her ability to do this.
Merry Christmas Everyone!

I know Rosie‘s sweetshop had #peppermint candies like candy canes & humbugs & peppermint ice, especially during the holidays in this fun seasonal read. The U.K. cover has more candy on it than the U.S. one.

Well, mittens really. Jenny Colgan fan here. What are your favorite Colgan titles?

Happy Christmas! Spent Christmas Eve afternoon with our besties in our little bubble, then home to read all evening. And a lovely read too. Jenny doesn‘t disappoint. An engaging story, characters I cared about, and lots of snow. 4 stars.
We may even have snow on the ground here by the time I wake up. Which won‘t be early.
Another book read for #BookSpinBingo AND #DashingDecember!
1. Yes! Our closest friends gave us some great Christmas lights a couple of weeks ago, and another couple left gifts on our doorstep. We plan to do an outside drop-off with a few friends in the area but we were waiting for a few last items to be delivered. That finally happened today!
2. Absolutely. We‘ll be home on Christmas Day; mimosas in the hot tub and a Christmas zoom with friends are the only other items on the agenda.
A recent library hold haul. Most of them will be on my December #BookSpinBingo card! I‘ve been crap at recent readathons, but I‘m gearing up for a good end to November and *maybe* a bingo for #BookSpin. And #24B4Monday starts tomorrow!
This was a delight - a simple and heartwarming tale of love and community at Christmas. I like Jenny Colgan. Her writing is warm but does not cross the line into saccharine (or at least, for me, not unbearably so). Was not fussed about the ending and Lillian ... that was ooey gooey. Overall ... a 4/5.
I‘ve been a bit under the weather so it took me until after Christmas to get this read but it was sweet & a good holiday read. I love Rosie & it was nice to visit with her & Lillian again. You don‘t have to have read the first book but it helps the enjoyment. I got out for a bit yesterday & took this pic at my local coffee shop where thankfully there has been some sun in all the rain. Running errands today after another coffee/reading/🥑🍞break.
My finished soup taken from an Ottolenghi Instagram post for butter braised chickpeas is so delicious—rich, buttery cooked with Parmesan rinds (then blitzed in the blender to thicken the soup) add so much flavor. The grilled spring onion & lemon are a nice touch. A definite win.
Continuing the Christmas vibe with a few chapter of this🎄❤️ book. Keeping the reading light today.

Getting myself in the holiday spirit! I always enjoy Jenny Colgan🎄❤️
*sigh* I loved it. After a weekend of homework and a long work week and the news being complete crap- this was delightful. I have the third one in the series ready to go on my Kindle, but I think I will wait until after the Game of Thrones finale. I have a feeling I will need it!
Another Jenny Colgan for the win. After picking up and putting down several books over the weekend, this sweet little ditty warmed the cockles of my heart, just Ike my trusty friend Colgan always manages to do. I can always count on her to turn to when I'm in a reading slump...
A sweet (ha! couldn't resist the pun) Christmas story about Rosie's burgeoning relationships with her new boyfriend and fellow villagers. #12booksofChristmas
