Clara Parkes shared this link of the Seattle Public Library setting the World Record for Book Dominoes! Check it out!!!!

Some #audiocrocheting tonight to a book about knitting (sort of). 🙃

Haven't done nearly as much #dayoff reading as expected but I did finally finish the sweater I've been taking forever on (I developed some sort of mental block about it when I got to the sleeves). #knittersoflitsy
Instead of going out to yoga in the unseasonal cold, I‘m going to just sit, knit, and eat some comfort food. Dear Mother Nature, Stop it.
Not reading related but I had to share this pic of my nephew in the sweater I knit for him! So glad he got to wear it at least once before he got too big.
Attention all fiber hoarders.... this is a great book of short love stories. For wool. If you knit or crochet, you will surely enjoy the love of wool only we know. 5⭐️ because it was just perfect for what I needed.
A lovely little book of short stories, all related to knitting and wool. Yes, not for everyone, but, it is exactly what I am needing tonight. The past month has been rough and anxiety is over the top. This is the gentle hug of knitting I needed.
This looks as if I could enjoy it. Perusing the local library I found it. I want to get back to knitting. Maybe this will spark some action.
Oh @heatherkaz ! I LOVE everything in my package! THANK YOU! All three books are right up my alley. ? The magnetic bookmarks are so pretty. And how you knew Ghiardelli and Lindor truffles are two of my favorite chocolates, I don't know! (My youngest screamed "chocolate!" once he saw my open package. ?)
Thank you so much for such a thoughtful #secretsantagoespostal #wintersolsticebookexchange gift!
#TBRtemptation post 4! In this memoir, knitting aficionado Parkes takes us on 17 journeys across the globe over the last 15 years, from Iceland's fjords to a Paris yarn shop. The popular PBS personality provides part travel narrative part cultural history in her essays. From socks in Portland, Oregon, to the NY Sheep & Wool Festival on the Hudson. If you like your crafts, this may be right up your alley. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎

My neighbor gave me this book yesterday. Looks intriguing. Has anyone read it? Thoughts?
As one who is fairly new to knitting (within the last 3 years) I found this book to be eye opening and also quite inspired. Clara shares her knitting experiences and travels through sumptuous stories, rich with texture and mythical knitting personas. I was excited to hear the names of knitters I was familiar with along with new ones that I instantly followed on Instagram and I've added quite a few knitting "destinations" to my must visit knit list
"A funny thing happens when more than one knitter gathers in a public place. A solo knitter, presuming she is a woman, quickly fades into the backdrop like a potted palm or a quietly nursing mother. Asingle knitter is shorthand for "nothing to see here, move on.
But when knitters gather, we become incongruously conspicuous. We are a species that other people aren't used to seeing in flocks" - Anyone else knit and listen to audiobooks? #multitask
I am an avid knitter, but I haven't read very many books about knitting or by other knitters. This was a fun exploration of places and events that happen in the knitting world, and my list of events to someday attend just got a lot longer.
A book about knitting seems appropriate for this weekend.
Matching book & activity on a prolonged Friday morning.
A nice read while I was spending a day traveling. Some of the events covered in the book are inaccessible to anyone other than fiber industry bigwigs (TNNA for example), so it's fun to read about them.
