I‘ve decided to clear out as many of the unread and hibernated books from my previous #BookSpin #BookSpinBingo #DoubleSpin lists as I can.

Fast-paced & with heart-wrenching twists. I saw the connection to the ultimate Big Bad early, but that didn‘t stop me from enjoying every twist & turn! My biggest complaint is that apparently this is the last book in the series? Except that ending was SO FULL OF CLIFFHANGERS, GUYS. I‘m so mad that we‘re not gonna see resolutions to all the threads she opened for us in this book. An excellent story, but the ending leaves you very unsatisfied. ★★★½

Another JLB book! Yay! My love for her Fixer series knows no bounds so I think I am to the point where I'll read anything she puts out.

First off, I love when a book is even more beautiful without the dusk jacket. This is my favorite shade of purple! Although slow at first, this book really picked up and became quite interesting. Barnes has a way of weaving intricate plots into her stories. This book wasn't amazing, but it was good and I would recommend it to fans of YA suspense.

Haven't been on the litsy scene in awhile but I read both The Fixer and The Long Game by Jennifer Lynn Barnes this month and I am so sad to find out that the series ends there. Such a good series! I read both books in a day a each after being on my tbr forever.Definitley thinking I should pick up more by this author. Cannot recommend these enough.

Plot went a bit off the rails. That said, I couldn't put it down. I hope there is a book 3 since there are several unresolved issues.

So, so good!!! Jennifer Lynn Barnes knows how write a thriller! She knows just when to ratchet up the tension and the action. In The Long Game, trust is the huge question. Who can Tess trust? Why doesn't Ivy seem to trust her? What happens when people you thought you could trust have their own agenda? After the events of The Long Game, I'm worried about what Tess might have to face in the next book!! [Book 3 of 2017]

Ahhhhh....the tag line is spot on...who can you trust????

Settling in with The Long Game. Excited for a day filled with pajamas, tea, and reading.

Like House of Cards for teenagers. This book was just as thrillingly (albeit unrealistically) plotted as the first. A good political thriller set in a high school.

I had a pretty great reading year. I read some really great books, I got back into reading graphic novels, and I exceeded my reading goal by nine books. Thank you for all the reading inspiration this year, Littens!

Onward to 2017!

The Long Game is the first book since 2013 to go on my all time favorites. If there isn't a third book I might expire. From my Goodreads review:

Uuuuggggghhhhhhh this was just as good as the first book and also I really hope there are going to be more books in this series because I have QUESTIONS.

Today's book mail!

I'm obsessed with this series. Washington intrigue and scandal, conspiracies, terrorist organizations, assassination plots- it's like House of Cards on speed, yet set in a prestigious DC prep school. It doesn't hurt that in addition to cranking out one mind-blowing plot twist after another, along with non-stop action, the main characters are so well drawn they feel like they could be real people. Unputdownable. So good. Can't wait for book three!

You guys. This book is so intense. I didn't know YA could be this level of intense. If someone doesn't turn this series into a tv show they are insane.

Even better than the first!! THE FIXER was fun and intriguing, but this one was so gripping I could hardly make myself put it down. A whole other level of awesome. What can I say? I love Veronica Mars-esque protagonists and political machinations!

Well due to my wifi going down for an hour, I finished it. Excellent book. Can't wait to see what happens next

The Long Game and a hot fudge sundae. The lactose intolerant in me is regretting the sundae but the bibliophile is dancing.

I'm a thriller fan but am seriously underwhelmed with most YA thrillers. This second installment of The Fixer series was awesome, veering a bit away from the Olivia Pope-inspired shenanigans of book one and zooming into political thriller category. Highly recommend!

A page-turner with a surprising twist I totally did not see coming. This one has Tess, her family, and friends fighting terrorists-there were some seriously unpleasant moments and it made me think a little too much about horrors that happen in real life. Good read.

Tremendous!! Great characters and premise from book one taken to a whole new level in book two. This is a series that MUST be read in order. Such an amazing read!

The first chapter is a hoot!! The characters I loved in the first book are back and as delightful as ever. This is a book I'm going to want to savor because I love the author and the characters- but I also want to plow through and know the whole story.

Please forgive the fanatical gleam in my eye, but if I lower the book you can see the HUGE GAPING HOLE WHERE MY HEART USED TO BE. This book takes everything that is wonderful about THE FIXER and rockets it up another ten levels. Brilliant, crafty, and almost made me hyperventilate.

(5 stars) Three Thoughts 1) slow start and then BAM off like a rocket 2) totally kicked me in the feels and broke my heart - that ending!! 3) so well done so so good I really hope for more in this series

Now THIS is a sequel! Heart pounding, twisty, high stakes action and complicated characters. I can't get enough of this series.
