My first book down on the #24in48. What I think is that this should be assigned reading in school for sure. Short and sweet. #Readathon #Recommended My favorite quote: “Culture does not make people. People make culture.”

Hello all!! Making a come back to Litsy to showcase what I‘m reading during #24in48 Readathon!! My first time doing this, not going too ambitious but this is definitely a stack that‘s gonna keep me busy. I also have 3 books on my Kindle. I‘ll share them in a bit. What are YOU reading?
Finished this one during a work break. A nice story about a boy who is mature enough to understand the difficulties of being and adult, but that at the same time relies on his imaginary friend for support through tough times. I feel like Crenshaw (the 🐱) could have been more developed.
Ha! Spot on! How about you littens?! http://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/what-type-of-reader-are-you/?mcg=261E063074FB4...
Friday night plans! Making mimosas tonight. Enjoy the weekend!! ☺️☺️☺️
This book fulfills my #PopSugarReadingChallenge as: A book in which the main characer is from a different ethnicity than you.Lots of references to literary works, specially my favorite, the little prince.Madeline is unable to live her teenage years until she falls in love. Then, she begins to experience the world, blinded by this love and the thrill of being outside for the first time. This is exactly how I felt as a teenager until love found me.
This books is part of my #PopSugarReadingChallenge and it fulfills the: Book recommended by a librarian. Honestly though this book was very slow at the beginning. The two characters are both orphans. Vivian grows up to become a rich woman and Molly (the other orphan) happens to find her when she needs her the most. The ending was as rushed as a paper you have to finish minutes before the deadline. The plot was okay. So 🤷🏻♀️
1. @snacksinthestacks told me about it!
2. Lately, Litsy and usually Goodreads.
3. PAPERBACKS.
4. Yes, on the subway, all the time.
5. Nope :( I dont have time :(
6. Oh.. Teacher man.
7. Adulthood is a myth.
8. 🤔🤔 so many I dont remember.
9. Doctor Sleep by Stephen King
10. More books, less problems.
#TBRBoost
My now overflowing bookshelf modeled here by my reading companion! #SpaceJam
Forgot to take a photo before I dropped it off at the library 😅😅😅 - The illustrations are so simple and yet so powerful. I am glad he chose to present this story keeping his father's point of view. Showcasing the struggles of his family during and after the holocaust.
Probably the most compelling story I've read this year. This woman was able to deliver a powerful love story embeded in the struggles of fitting in as a woman, as a woman of color, as an immigrant. I had a book-hangover for 2 weeks. At the end, I cried happy tears. What else should I say to convince you to PICK IT UP!
Today's #LibraryBookHaul all of these books are on my #PopsugarReadingChallenge My friend and I made a bet, whoever completes the challenge first gets a movie night with dinner and drinks. So I hope to read up these soon! Currently I am on the lead by 12 books. Woohoo!! ☺️☺️☺️🎉🎉🎉
Sometimes she still felt it. How was it possible to miss something you no longer wanted?
Started this one on a walk with Ginger today. I HAVE READ SO MANY BOOKS lately. I just need time to sit here, and tell you all about it. For now, I can say that I would go through this whole book, even if it was bad, just because I love to listen to his voice 😂😂😂😂 #NoShame #BeaglesOfLitsy #ReadingCompanions #Audiobooks
Currently recovering from the biggest book hangover of my life. For two weeks I tried to read all the books on my shelf that haven't been touch and couldn't find ANYTHING that sparked my interest. I found the cure on this book, but I am afraid I'm going to be hangover from this one too 😭😭😭😭#PopSugarReadingChallenge
@Sharpeipup HOW DID YOU KNOW THIS WAS MY CHILDHOOD CANDY?!? Since you mentioned reading in the summer, as a child I LOVED it when I had a ring pop in my mouth as I read books. Can't wait to read these books as I need them for my reading challenge. You are amazing and my dog was pretty excited about all the paper she had to play with! THANK YOU SO MUCH ! #SummerSantagoesPostal
When you can't wait any longer to open your #SummerSantaGoesPostal box 😭😭😭😭 You have to turn to your friends for strenght! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 @snacksinthestacks is definitely stronger than I am.
I might as well just copy the whole book! So many good quotes! - I wonder if I should just start sharing every quote here 🤔🤔🤔- I've been mostly sticking to photos but I think is time for something new and this book has more than a few 😉
Today is a really hot day in New York City. I'm currently at work wishing I was doing this again 😭 I hope other littens are having a great day! #Beagle #ReadingCompanion
This book was a good closing to the trilogy. However, I was hoping for a better ending for the main character. I loved the way in which King used this piece of work to raise suicide awarness. It is definitely a scary issue and he made it part of the whole trilogy. Overcoming a mental illness and the importance of having a great support system was also a theme all around. Great piece of work if you ask me 👌🏼😉
Currently reading Americanah and about to post my review of the books that I've read so far... when I saw this. I never thought I would like being on Litsy SO MUCH. At the beginning I was just here to find more books (like I dont have enough already 😂) but it has inspired me to read more, write more and talk more about books. So THANKS!
This was so much fun to put together! It took me forever but I was able to finally ship it! Can't wait! #SummerSantaGoesPostal
My haul from today's #BookCon ! Most of the stuff free I got for free since I stayed ti the very end. A real higlight was meeting R.L. Stine shaking his hand and getting his autograph! I was also able to enjoy my time with @snacksinthestacks at the photo booth! I also got a few goodies for my #summersantagoespostal match. Shipping it tomorrow!!
Exploring #Chicago yesterday I was able to find the new edition of the #darktower series!! I love how the spines connect. I also bought more books for my #summersantagoespostal today I am in the quest of finding more bookish things for my match. Once I get back to NY I'll be shipping! #BookHaul #StephenKing #Obsessed
Don't think for a second that I have forgotten about my match for the #SummerSantaGoesPostal I recently graduated so I've been busy. So I decided to get my match books from Chicago bookstores and New York City. This photo is from one of my favorite bookstores in Chicago.
What an amazing book! The music, the characters, the narrators! Everything was so beautiful. Definitely a book for all ages, as you are able to see hard times in history through different points of view. Tolerance is definitely the main value you'll learn from this book.
-I hope my book exchange match forgives me for not posting anything. I've been so busy lately. I promise to be better at this!!!-
Currently listening - Really keeping me from doing other things and just doing chores so I can finally know what happens to Ruth! -
A more developed review later on today, I promise.
Today my favorite book turns 74. What can I say, nothing has made me feel like this books has. Happy, sad, nostalgic, hopeful, etc. Thanks to my #CupidGoesPostal match @vicgreentoriafield I can finally have a decent photo :) #FavoriteBook
This book has been on my TBR since 2013. I CAN NO LONGER LISTEN TO THIS. I just want to scream at her SHUT UP YOU SELFISH UNGRATEFUL LADY!! She just wants to look as "my privilege-filled life is so sad, I needed to do this and that" If I can't connect with a character, I can't read a book. #EndOfTheStory
Made it to my favorite number!! Thank you littens! Now I'll just have to wait for 8,888 😋😋😋
I don't have much to say about this book. I usually never read what everybody is reading but I'm going to confess I judged the book by its cover. So I gave in, I listened to it... It was okay. Your average newyorker from the upper east side struggle. Money issues, fighting with homosexuality and finding a fulfilling job. The writing was good so that kept me alive.
With my SIFE (Students with Interrupted Formal Education) we are talking about the Taliban and we are reading Nasreen's secret school. This reminded me so much of Malala. I knew I NEED IT to read this book. It was such an inspiring story. My favorite quote? One child, One teacher, One book and One pen can change the world. Definitely read it if you are into education and empowerment of women 👌🏼🙋🏻👩🏻🏫
I haven't been reading ANYTHING besides research for ELL students. This semester I will become a certified teacher in NY. Probably one of the hardest things I've ever done in my life.
HOWEVER, I have managed to listen to some audiobooks - like this one. It was fulfilling to know that the acting industry is not as amazing as it seems and she definitely gives you an insider view.
The hardest thing about keeping my new year's resolutions (of not buying books) is waiting for library holds for ONE MONTH AND 23 DAYS. I never waited so long for a book 😅 Hope is worth it! #LibraryHolds #LibraryLoans #NewYearsResolution #QueensLibrary
What an amazing way to start the day. Definitely one of the best Valentine's day! Thank you so much @vicgreentoriafield !! The socks were my favorite, is it too obvious that the little prince is my favorite book? 🤣🤣 Can't wait to start reading these books! Im sooo happy! #CupidGoesPostal and thanks to @BookishMarginalia for organizing this ♥️
My only #DeckleEdge books for #FeistyFeb ! It's a snowy day in #nyc and I had the day off. No reading for me though, I have to plan lessons for tomorrow and next week. 😭😭😭So I am giving myself a break by checking Litsy 🙃 #TeachersOfLitsy #FavoriteSeries
My favorite book. The bookI always go to when I feel sad and defeated. My mom read this book to me since 1993. Every night. This is that copy. This book is about love, friendship, growing up and being a kid forever. That's why I love it! I got myself a pop-up copy to read to my future students one day. #MostreRead #FeistyFeb
Late on my #FeistyFeb #TBR but I started student teaching yesterday and it was quite overwhelming.
Notice how some of my last month's TBR transferred to February 😂
I always make a list but I'm a moody reader, is hard for me to stick to something 😭
There was a huge fuss about this book last year. I decided to jump on the train (yes, I did that 😂) and read it. It was a good book. I have to warn you that if most of your reading is done during your commute, this is not the book for that. I had trouble remembering the dates and differentiating between characters. Once I sat at home, it was gone within hours.
There's nothing so painful, so corrosive, as suspicion.
Trying to finish this book that is due today 😂😂😂
#ReadJanuary One of my favorite authors! #Signed Meeting him was the highlight of my #2016
Preparing mentally to student teach high school next week. I am both nervous and excited. I initially wanted to become an ENL high school teacher. I'm not so sure now... I've taught children ages 3-7 for about two years. I feel like I'm not ready... yet. For students who are 99% taller than me 😂😂#TeachersOfLitsy
Something I love more than books? MAKING LISTS.
With that said this book is perfect for those of us who find pleasure on organizing our thoughts, books and lives into lists. It has beautiful illustrations and is well-organized.
-Also great to keep in a coffee table for visitors!
