They have all been audiobooks but the time I was able to put into books would have taken me 61 years to get this far 🙂

It was another great month of #audiobooking.
My top pick for the month is The Great Alone.
But there were many fantastic others. Each of these are worth picking up.

How could I not listen to Julia Whelan‘s debut? Yes she can be compared to some but she stands alone in doing it oh so well. Looking forward to “hearing” more from her.

As someone who watched my father rapidly decline and die from Lewy Body dementia, Alzheimer‘s, Parkinson‘s and ALS - I highly recommend this book to everyone. I‘ve always believed in the preventative and healing power of food and we are fortunate to live in a time where we know more than ever before.

Kristin Hannah draws me into a story and holds me there. Many writers try to convey a landscape foreign to most but few succeed in truly immersing you there. Is it possible not to love a book that Julia Whelan narrates?

My top book for this month would have to be Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows.
The least favourite was Snow - my bookclub read this month.
There were definitely some picks this month but the other top three would be Call Me By My Name,
I am I am I am and What Alice Forgot.
Long Way Down I Recommend for a quick powerful audio listen.

Not as fantastic as Evelyn Hugo but still a very easy enjoyable listen. I will likely read all of her books

1. Audiobooks - they have completely transformed my life. From not reading at all with a 3 year old to consuming dozens.

Tragic, honest and beautiful. Being from a family that has dealt with similar illnesses I can attest to the truthfulness of this book and how it affects all members of a family. Definitely worth a read or listen.

My first Scribd listen - really enjoying it and loving the new book/audiobook subscription purchase. No more waiting for library books and overpaying for audible. This will definitely feed my reading/listening addiction.

In the vein of A Man Called Ove. I‘m being drawn to books about relationships between generations and the lessons that are learned in those moments.

It‘s official I am buying my daughter a box set of all of Rainbow Rowell books the minute she mentions “liking” anyone. The love in her books is the love I hope she strives for, never settling for anything else.

Another endearing character and novel by an author that has become one of my treasured favourites.

This is an earlier book of hers. I can see her writing style developing. Not her strongest but I do enjoy her characters and how their humanity with all its flaws is portrayed.

I imagine I should think of this as a good thing - so many people gathering around books :)

I don't think I would have gotten through this one by reading it. Spending the day off with the audiobook. The narrator is great, still undecided about the story itself. Not my regular cup of tea.

I keep reading books that reflect my life in one way or another. This one took me by complete surprise. It simultaneously hooked me while it broke my heart.

This is one of the better books about the immigrant experience I have read recently. I enjoyed the author‘s ability to humanize the characters through their complex relationships with one another. This was a book that subtly voiced its themes through showing rather than blatant telling which I highly prefer.

I‘ve been highly curious about this one.

These books make me want to have relationships/friendships like these. Where conversations are created through stream of consciousness. Rather than guarded and stifled - like walking on eggshells.
I want to live in a Rainbow Rowell book.

Excited to be starting this one. Only a few minutes in and already loving the banter between characters.

Oh my ♥️. What a book.

I am really enjoying a good psychological thriller. The premise and buildup to this was good. It is the reveal and the characters responses that leave me feeling as though it was rushed through and underdeveloped.

I‘ve decided that I can‘t rate the psychological thriller/mysteries I‘m enjoying on the same scale as the literary fiction I also read. Therefore, they are going to be rated separately in my mind. Allowing me to enjoy both equally.
I really enjoy these as audiobooks. I liked this one especially. I enjoy getting into the heads and minds of the characters as a way to tell the story. This one did so quite well.

With just over 3 hours left of the audible 2for1 sale does anyone have any must have recommendations?

This book was worth the read. I‘m finding I enjoy reading the mystery/thrillers but have yet to find one I would give a full five star rating to, yet I‘m still drawn to them.

In an attempt to read books as well as listen to them I got this this morning for under $5 on my kobo. It was on my TBR so looking forward to it.

This book is between a pick and a so-so. It‘s told from a number of perspectives which I like but also find that the depth of the story and the characters can suffer depending on the writer. That being said it‘s one of my favourite book covers.

I am fundamentally against romance novels but this woman can write about love young and old and I‘m hooked - I can‘t quite explain it. Which one should I read next ?

I am not sure if it is a new trend in writing fiction where the story is told in a series of vignettes. Rather than having to delve into character development the story is forcibly told rather than having it naturally unfold. I‘m not a huge fan of this.

Decided to pick a random book from my Kobo. One I could read in a day before the 3 year old is home from school.

I enjoyed this little soap opera of a book more than I anticipated. I may have to indulge in the show now 🙂

A quick, easy and suspenseful listen.

A small book that looms large in its complexities of love, family, loyalty and identity.

It seems I can only make plans with friends if it involves a book we've both read. This is the book pick for my mini two person bookclub - looking forward to it.

This book took me a while to finish but I always looked forward to when I could immerse myself in another place and time. I thoroughly enjoyed this one.

I can‘t seem to pick a book that doesn‘t have its fair share of disturbing characters. This book kept me coming back for more even if I had part of it figured out fairly early on. Worth the read though.

Every girl must decide whether to be true to herself or true to the world

This was a super quick listen. It felt like it could have been much longer as it played as a series of life vignettes, yet somehow it worked.

When you are working a graveyard and this is the only book you have downloaded that seems appealing at 2AM.

All it takes is the F-word to instill a belief in ourselves that we too can be completely fine.
