This book was amazing, fell in love with the cover. Then in love with the story. Zelda has FAS, she lives with her brother. He is trying his best, but doesn't make the best life choices. Zelda begins a life quest and becomes the warrior goddess she was always meant to be. Tragic, heartwarming, and bold. ♥️

lowellette I loved this one so much! 5y

This book is gripping. It follows a group of migrants on their journey to the United States. When I say journey... it's a journey in more ways than just traveling. The writers character development is awesome and keeps you wanting to know more of their story. The book uses different characters perspectives to tell the story. Would definitely recommend.

This was a heartwarming story. Sometimes you just need a good tear jerker. Annie is a little bundle of fire with strong belief and a bad heart. Reese is a man lost in the pain of loss until Annie shines a light so bright he can no longer hide in the dark.

"That lonely scream smell of that dirt basement lived inside me." This book was gripping. Told from pov of a 12 yr. old girl. The town of Lilydale has dark underbelly and Cassie McDowell is 'investigating' the assaults occuring in her town. Twelve years old and she needs answers.

I liked this book. It links modern day, late 80s, and 1600s. The murder plot spanning the whole time period, in one form or another, is what kept the book moving. The primary setting is Salem, Mass. The main character is a young woman who witnessed a murder when she was a child. Her character was good but the sheriff is the character that held the book together.

Highly recommend this (scarily timely) read! Red Riding Hood is off to Grandmother's house in this dystopian novel. There's been a Crisis. The 'Cough' is killing hundreds of people. The government is quarantining people in camps. Red must battle coyotes (other people turned bad), wolves (kidnapping militia), snakes (mutated tape worms) to make it safely. Will she make it? She a reader, a planner, a worrier, and an ass kicker! ♥️👓

This was the BEST Christian romance I have read in a long time! Matthew Hanger meets Doctor Josephine Burkett when one of his men is shot. They each are warriors in their own way. Neither of them expects the war they must wage to be save her brother and be together. Will they both survive the battle? #netgalley #atlovescommand

Written from dual pov, this Christian Suspense novel held my interest from cover to cover. Brooke is going through a lot. Starting a new job as a National Park Law Enforcement Agent, her father is killed, an old flame appears, and she is starting a new relationship. Luke is undercover and trying to help find who killed Brooke's father. He's not sure he's the relationship type. An additional plot twist was a pleasant surprise. #netgalley #standoff

I hadn't read Nancy Mehl before this. I've found a new author to enjoy. Kaely Quinn is an FBI agent with a unique past. Her father is a serial killer. When a body is discovered in a field in Iowa, the case is directly linked to her father. In this novel, Kaely struggles with trust in her relationships, dealing with her emotional pain from her childhood, and staying strong in her beliefs while confronting evil. #netgalley #deadend

This book was awesome! I love the story of Dani and Diesel! I think one of the things that I really enjoyed about this book was how the author wrote the ASL portions. It was just part of the character's dialog. I also love how Dani and Diesel 'rescue' two boys...but through that experience they are both healed. ♥️📖

This chilling mystery is set in northern Minnesota, among the Ojibwa, on Red Earth Reservation. Renee LaRoche walks the edge of the blade between white and Ojibwa culture to find a killer. She gets more than she bargained for. This book covers so many topics (prejudice, child abuse, same sex relationship), yet it still tells a really good story! Would make an excellent cop TV series! #mnauthor #readin24

Wow!! Hold on to something this book will take you for a ride!! It's tangled and twisted. Just when you think you know what is going on...you don't expect the new plot to be thrown in. I won't say how I feel about the ending because that could give it away. Well worth the time to read. Although once I started it was a race to the finish.

This is a great story about a group of young girls learning how to stand up for themselves and that telling an adult is not always tattling. Winicker and her Paris girl friends meet Roger. He's a prankster and leads them into serious trouble. There's also a bit about feeling left out and including others. Love the use of French there's not a lot but cool kids can read other languages. (Glossary in back of book.)

This was an interesting but technical read about some of the architects, rulers, and leaders that changed and develop the city to eventually lead to modern day Paris. It was full of good info. 2 drawbacks: a bit dry and ends in the late 1800s. Really liked the time line piece in the book.

This is a facinating account of the battle for La Fiere Bridge. The accounts are from soldiers, non combatants, and German soldiers. Ste. Merry Eglise in June 1944 was a key point for the allied forces and ultimately the success of D-Day. Written by someone who was there.

This was a sweet romance...but I didn't find it a gripping storyline. In fact most of the time the writing bounced around as though it was a part of the game show in the book. The romance part of the book was sweet. The part about searching for Byrony's sister wasn't a strong enough portion of the story with a a haphazzard character development of Hannah. #netgalley gave me a free preview, thank you!

Truthfully I have a love hate relationship with this book. I loved the 'trio' of characters and where they ended up, their interaction with each other and others. Grace has really low self-esteem. She builds as the novel progresses. I hated how many times she took it in the chin from her man. The rating for the book this time is hard at times it pans, it has so so moments, and has pick moments.

One of the best novels I've read in a long time! Setting wine country, France. Kate comes to learn more about the Burgundy vintages and to help with les vendanges. She has many discoveries a secret room, WW II resistance info, a hidden stash of wine, and a long lost aunt who was either part of the resistance or a Nazi collaborator. She discovers so many secrets and discovers where she truly belongs! Gobbled this right up!

I feel like I have been reading this series forever. Shapeshifters, vampires, bad cops, good cops, physchics, metaphysical...let's face it this series has got all things supernatural. This novel was better than the previous two in the series (in my opinion), and was a nail bitter until the final 1/4 of the book. Then it was a bit anti climatic, for me. Still a good read!

Wow! I've seen some of the other reviews for this that say "this isn't Hugh's book." It totally is. Hugh is thrown to the dogs (pun intended) and only finds purpose as a protector. He sets up his defense by approaching Elara. No one quite knows what she is. Only that she has strong magic. Love the back story you get for Hugh and the developing story of him and Elara. Some great links to the Daniels series. I won't give them away.
