The story was so cheesy. I don't know how many times I cringed and rolled my eyes, but I did it quite a lot. In the end though, I didn't hate it. ๐คซ

Happy National drink coffee day! Do happy people like to read books and drink coffee or is it that reading books and drinking coffee makes us happy? Either way I'm good! It's a cool rainy day here so no outside work and play. Lots of inside chores are getting done but I had to take a break for a short book and one more cup of coffee to celebrate this day ๐๐โ

Stumbled across this #littlefreelibrary on our walk yesterday. ๐
I don‘t recommend it... I want to think that some information was missed due to it being a translated book, but it seemed so rushed that I just can‘t truly believe it. The characters have changes that simply seem too drastic as well. I feel there are many gaps in this one.
Diane's life is drastically changed in one moment. What makes this book a good read is that Diane finds her footing and in doing so finds herself.
Totally agree with the title of the book...
drinking tea or wine while reading is also equally good... Not picky.. lol

โข Good morning Litsy!! Hope everyone has a great Friday. Enjoy this beautiful coffee/book artwork I just found on the internets. I love Pinterest โข
My library has this amazing thing called book clubs in a bag where you can check out the entire bag for your face to face book club. I was curious as to what book was in it today. Here it is....anyone familiar with this book? I had never heard of it!
@callielafleur , congrats!!!! I thought will all the news about FB, this was appropriate bookish post.

#Rocktober #day15 #MissYou Diane is the owner of a cafe in Paris, living the perfect family life with her husband and young daughter.Until the day a car accident takes them both & she's left unable to face life without them.A year later, still living with grief, she runs from Paris to a small village in Ireland, where a bad tempered neighbor & his family teach her how to live again. Not my favourite read, loses a lot in translation, but still moving.
I am a "Happy People" READING wise but not coffee-drinking wise. :)
What about you - do you read and drink coffee?
LOVE the cover.

HAPPY BOOK LOVERS DAY to all!
I know nothing about this book. But I do know that a #puremorning is quickly tainted without a book and a cup of coffee.
But, having just read the synopsis, maybe not this book. It's... not my cup of tea ๐

#JubilantJuly #day13 #LostLoves #day14 #SetInFrance This book covers both prompts well, the beginning & end is set in France ๐ซ๐ท & the main character, Diane, loses both of her loves, her husband & daughter, in a horrible car accident. Diane used to run a bookstore/cafe in Paris until that fateful day when her world ended. After a year of refusing to leave her apartment, she decides to move to a remote Irish coastal village to rebuild her life.
I read this book 3 years ago and it's one of my favourites! I was passing through a really hard time, and this books helps me to cope the pain of a heartbreak. It was, just perfect. It details the process of losing someone so good! It's a must read! I totally recommend it.

Happy weekend reading Littens! ๐ค
More book mail!
I ordered this from Amazon. The paperback was cheaper than the Kindle version.

I just discovered this "Pralines Cream" coffee and I'm in coffeebean heaven!!!???
Not exactly book related, I know, but books & coffee go hand in hand right?!
I'm just so LOVING the flavor of this mixed in with my usual hazelnut brew!!! ?
Ahhhhhh...??

Couldn't agree more.๐
I see this sign everyday outside the cafe/gift shop located in my building where I get my coffee and it always makes me smile. ๐คโค
So that cheerful blue cover with the window box of flowers? Wrong. This is much more apropos.
I only finished this because it was short. Unlikeable characters, so many cliches and cardboard characters, a love interest who was an awful person, and everyone smoked a cigarette about every other sentence. The sections about the protagonist's grief were really raw and actually quite effective but the rest was just terrible. Ugh!
Some translated fiction (though I'm thinking it will be a relatively trite and predictable romance), wine, and lurking cats.

Gotta love it when there's a coffee shop built into your local library!!๐ค๐๐ป๐ค
I know this had some mixed reviews, I decided to give it a go last night before bed and read half of it. Diane is a prickly character and it's hard to warm to her though she got under my skin. I think the translation could be a bit cleaner but overall I enjoyed, grief is such a personal thing and this resonated with me. Plus I love the Aran Islands which make a cameo
Has anyone read this one? It's did back at the library and I picked it up on a whim, you tell me... Should I read or return? #bookishdilema
Thanks to everyone with awesome suggestions for me to read the other day! ๐๐๐ I love this community so much. Still struggling and today was tiring. But I have these lovelies planned on my nook and I think I may have a nice reading evening ahead. The Underground Railroad is up first, I think.
Loved it from start to finish. What the main character went through, what an emotional roller coaster. Very surprised at the ending, did not see that coming at all. Great read, would recommend it.
A little shopping on Cyber Monday. Great deal on ebooks today! I also got I Hate Fairyland but it didn't fit in my screenshot. I finally caved and just bought it rather than wait for interlibrary loan.
The title of this book caught my eye - reading makes me happy. An interesting story about life after loss. It was a quick and easy read and it wasn't what I expected. The hero wasn't your typical, likable guy, but he was the guy who helped Diane start to heal
Prettiest cover. This was given to me today. Is it good?
The story wasn't anything magical. The writing didn't really move me. But it was a quick read. The storyline was decent and I really enjoyed the characters, even though they all seemed to be a bit immature.
I would recommend this book.
I finished this book in 24 hours. I started reading it on a whim and was drawn into Diane's story. It's written in such simple prose it's almost elementary school, which usually turns me off. However the roller coaster of emotions that Diane experiences drew me in. Everyone is trying to find themselves and rebuild from losses and disappointment. Such a good read!
I started reading this thinking it was going to be non-fiction! So totally not what I expected. I'm entranced with it. The writing is very simplistic, perhaps because it's a translation, but still intriguing.
Was wandering BN looking for my next read, and came upon this lovely read. I really enjoyed the story, and finished the book in 24 hours. Was disappointed it ended so soon, but was super excited to see the next book comes out 2017! Can't wait
#augustofpages #bookphotochallenge Relaxing doesn't come easy for me, but the one place where my thoughts always slow down and I never fail to feel at peace is Green Park in London. This picture is from March 2015, when I sat on a bench with a cupcake from Lola's and read an entire book while waiting for my phone to be repaired. There is nothing better than being literally unreachable and getting completely absorbed in a story ๐
#bookisholympics #bookone Finished my first book of the day! Would have been done sooner but I had a nanna nap for a few hours. It's Sunday and the Hubbys roasting a leg of lamb, it made me sleepy. This is a sweet little book about loss and the despair when you know the people you love are never coming back. I cried. A lot. The only criticism is I'd have loved for the ending to be different. No spoilers! Groot approves of my choice.
Choosing books based on their titles today.
#bookisholympics #dayonebookone It's 5am on the 14th here in Sydney so I think, as far as I understand the rules, I can start book one. This novel is 257 pges so well within the limits. Here we go, going for the gold!
Today's bookshop haul. I really have a problem, I just can't go past books without buying at least one. Finally bought myself a new copy of The Princess Bride, my original went walkies years ago, and some pretty journals, getting ready for my #litsygoespostal book club to come together.๐ฌ๐ฆ๐
A tough book to start on a lunch break I don't want to go back to work weepy! But I'm being a happy person reading my books and drinking my coffee, happy book lovers day!
I wanted to love this book- the cover is beautiful and I love the name. Maybe it's the translation, I don't know but I wasn't impressed. The one bright spot was the ending, very French ๐. Disappointed but moving on to something better. 17 1/2hours in and on the downward slide๐ #24in48 #litsy
