Reading and tea, my favorite evening pastime! 🤓☕️📚

Surpassed my goal in 2020, 50 is my perfect number. On track for 2021, already read three books this month and now starting the fourth. #goodreads #readingchallenge
Merry Christmas to all who celebrate! No family gathering for me this year, just a quiet day at home. Getting some reading time in with Christina Lauren, then will watch Bridgerton on Netflix. It‘s a very bookish holiday this year. Stay safe, everyone!
I put a spell on you.... it‘s Halloween movie night!

This book taking place in the world of telenovelas was an enjoyable read and I liked the romance, culture, families, and Spanish sprinkled throughout. I was underwhelmed with the parts where they were shooting scenes, though it was educational. I had no idea what an intimacy coordinator was and googled it, and yes, it‘s a real job. The more you know! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
So excited for the October #BOTM. This is my birthday month and I always look forward to my free book! 😊

This is the comfort read I need right now.

1) Yes, based on the Wonder Woman movie that came out a few years ago.
2) It was pretty much the same since it was a script to page adaptation.
3) Don‘t have anything in mind.

After months staying home I‘m slowly venturing out - being very careful and masking up/social distancing. Finally visited a bookstore! It felt so good to walk among the books and take a couple home with me!
Grove City, PA location. #bookstore #indiebookstore
I devoured this book in one day. It features some of my favorite tropes, enemies to lovers and marriage of convenience, plus a cast of incredible women and a swoon-worthy hero.
I never thought I‘d find the making of pottery and pottery glaze interesting, but the way Caroline Linden writes about it had me eagerly turning the page. She‘s fast becoming one of my auto-buy authors.

This is the first book I‘ve read by Grady Hendrix and I‘m impressed because very rarely do I enjoy a story when I don‘t like the majority of the characters. There‘s humor and horror here, and an amoral vampire who‘s a predator and definitely not a romantic hero. As bad as he is, what‘s worse is the sexism and racism that run rampant throughout and at times had me wondering who the real monsters were.
A romance set during the civil war that tackles serious issues and is a history lesson, had me from the beginning and got me hooked on Alyssa Cole.

I have a serious book hangover after finishing this beautiful story about a group of people from various backgrounds who come together through their shared love of Jane Austen. This is a character driven story that delves into the lives of each person, which drew me in and made me care deeply about them. Austenites and bookworms will totally relate to the love of the author, her work, and reading. Highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love this world Naomi Novik created, a Rumpelstiltskin and Hades/Persephone retelling set in a cold, wintry Russian landscape. The only complaint I have concerns the jumping back and forth between multiple POV in each chapter, and it‘s somewhat jarring when new voices are introduced halfway through the book. It didn‘t take away any enjoyment, however, and I was fully engaged and couldn‘t put the book down.
It is a common saying that women are delicate creatures, flowers, eggs, anything that may be crushed in a moment's carelessness. If I had ever believed it, I no longer did.

1) I try not to.

3) Several LEGITIMATE news sources. Not Facebook, opinion sites, blogs, or memes.
4) I force myself to get up immediately. My problem is I‘ll hit the snooze button 3 or 4 times and oops I‘m running late! 😱

My January #bookofthemonth pick, and what a ride! Spooky, atmospheric, and twisty, a fast read I got engrossed in because I constantly needed to know what would happen next. I‘m not a huge fan of alternating timelines, but it worked here. Also, as an eighties kid, thumbs up to the author for getting that vibe right.
#botm
1) Let it Shine is a romance set during the civil rights era. Alyssa Cole is amazing!
2) Greed
3) Weather is going to be yucky, so I‘m staying in and binging on Netflix, Prime, reading.
4) Yep.

Listened to the audiobook and loved it! I‘m an eighties kid and was a huge Wham! fan back in the day, and this brings back so many memories. It‘s not a dirty laundry tell all, but rather a collection of memories and insights into a lifelong friendship, pop stardom, and the music business. Andrew Ridgeley narrates, and he‘s a great storyteller with a self deprecating sense of humor. Very enjoyable and a lovely tribute to George.
I‘ve been loving the Book of the Month sélections these past few months. Was super excited for these two books!
