Legoing on a Monday = self care and smart ( I loved these boys )
I didn‘t anticipate reading a second book for this month‘s #TitlesAndTunes, but I was casting about for an audiobook, and I enjoyed Andrew‘s telling of their childhood friendship and time in Wham. Written after George‘s death, I thought Andrew was quite generous in how he wanted people to see and remember his friend.
I had to pick this song, though, just for the video. Supermodels, exploding jukebox, the jacket on fire! So rock and roll!
When I was a senior in high school, my friend and I sweet talked our way onto the set where George Michael was filming the video for 'Faith.'
Bless my sweet, little, naive heart. I just knew if I could meet him I would become Mrs Michael 😂
So, as you can see, my George Michael bar was set rather high. Sadly, this memoir didn't quite reach the mark.
I wanted so much more - from this book and from my sneaking onto that closed set.
LOL
“It‘s always our friendship I miss”
This was cheeky, dishy & fun! For an #EightiesGirl and one who fell in love with her future husband slow dancing to Careless Whisper, this book was a stroll down memory lane. I remembering seeing Wham in concert (again with future hubby to be) in 1985 & being swept up in the band‘s youth and exuberance🎶💕LOVED hearing Andrew Ridgeley share his journey with George from boyhood classmates to teenage pop stars🎤
Recently picked this up on #AudibleSale

I adored George Michael & this memoir from Andrew Ridgeley took me back to the 80s.
Ridgeley‘s early life meeting George and getting to fame with Wham! The best of friends according to him. I enjoyed some of the memories it brought back to me.
I give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars for great pictures and nice memoir.

Enjoy!
Definitely an 80‘s girl, esp. an 80‘s pop music girl, I can still remember the exact moment that I saw the Wake Me Up Before You Go Go video for the first time. I was sucked in and I regret that I was never able to see Wham! or George Michael live in concert. This memoir, though by far not the best memoir I‘ve read, still made me very nostalgic. I‘ve spent the last few days listening to and watching music videos & interviews. I miss them.
40-2020 ⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is not a literary masterpiece, what it is is Ridgely talking about his childhood and what he and best best mate Yog used to get up to, their passion for music and how that led to WHAM!! Careless Whisper is still one of my favourites, and now I know how it was written and the story behind it (not what u think either) I Love it even more
I absolutely loved this. A nostalgic trip back to my preteen years & my major George Michael crush! Andrew Ridgeley comes across well with a lovely acerbic wit when casting a critical eye over their sartorial choices in 80s, & his genuine affection for George shines through. 5🌟
I received this book for Christmas and can't wait to read it! My husband knows me well.
Anyone else playing? I‘m trying to avoid hearing the famous seasonal #HolidaySong by Wham before 25th December😂
Meanwhile, I‘m wondering if Andrew Ridgeley‘s Book is worth reading, or is he cashing in on his old friendship?

This isn't some Trashy Tell All. Lovely remembrance by Andrew Ridgeley of his dear friend. For me a delightful trip down memory lane. Escaping my parents house to drive around, singing along with Wham!. Last Christmas was always a favorite. Make It Big remains one of the few albums that I love every song. It's thesoundtrack of my youth. To this day, whenever I need a bit of cheering, I listen to Wham! and start to dance. 💃
Listened to the audiobook and loved it! I‘m an eighties kid and was a huge Wham! fan back in the day, and this brings back so many memories. It‘s not a dirty laundry tell all, but rather a collection of memories and insights into a lifelong friendship, pop stardom, and the music business. Andrew Ridgeley narrates, and he‘s a great storyteller with a self deprecating sense of humor. Very enjoyable and a lovely tribute to George.
A love letter to a lost childhood best friend. Well written and narrated.
Except for my #audiobook it‘s a quintessential West coast Canadian morning
