Bk1 of the past weeks #BookMail is this bio of Neil Finn. The singer from two of my favourite Aussie/Kiwi bands, Split Enz & Crowded House, they were the soundtrack to my teenage years. I had a huge crush on Neil, the video for Message To My Girl was on my VHS tape of Top Twenty Songs of the 80s. And my Crowded House cassette was on repeat in my tape player. God I‘m old👵🏻 Can‘t wait to read this. #OnceAn80sGirlAlwaysAn80sGirl

Bk2 for June is done! If my readings not quite back to what it was, at least there‘s light at the end of the tunnel now thank god👍I enjoyed this memoir more than I thought I would, bring back so many memories of what the 80s were like for a teenager. Currently 2/3 of the way through this ebook. The autobiography of the 80s Brat Pack member, it‘s hooked me far more than I thought it would at first. Maybe it‘s the fact I was an 80s girl & most of his movies are ones that bring back a time when perms, bows, RaRa skirts & fishnet gloves were my daily armour. Ah, teenager life! For an actor that seems to have it together onscreen, he was a mess off it. #OnceAn80sGirlAlwaysAn80sGirl

I‘ve been dabbling in & out of this memoir the last 2 weeks #Hoopla / at times it‘s physically difficult to understand Michael‘s narration as his Parkinson‘s causes him to slur his words and other times it‘s emotionally difficult to comprehend how much his life has been tested. But his optimism, love for & from his family, tenacity and humor are inspiring.

Another favorite audio of 2021 🙌🏻 I debated between this audio and Will by Will Smith for my favorite of November but the Grohl was just slightly better for me. A delightful listen 🎧
