Brat: An '80s Story | Andrew McCarthy

Pickpick

Bk2 for June is done! If my readings not quite back to what it was, at least there‘s light at the end of the tunnel now thank god👍I enjoyed this memoir more than I thought I would, bring back so many memories of what the 80s were like for a teenager. Though for an actor that looked so cool onscreen, he was a total mess off it. Highly recommend. #BookspinBingo #BigJuneReadathon #NonFictionBingo #ImASurvivor #Pop21 #Booked2022 #ByAJournalist

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! 2y
Cinfhen I thought this was ok as far as celebrity memoirs go but I agree, the 80‘s nostalgia was fab 🎉🤩have you listened to this one SO GOOD !!!! 2y
Lizpixie @Cinfhen I‘ll have to use my next audible credit on that, I love Rob Lowe! #BratPack4Eva 2y

My tentative plans for #Booked2022 #WinterSeason . Of course, it‘s weeks away and I‘m sure I‘ll keep adjusting. Especially as I make decisions about other challenges.

1. Cultish
2. I Am I Am I Am
3. The Poppy War (alternative version of China)
4. The Rainbow Comes and Goes
5. My Vanishing Country (from Amistad / Harper Collins)
6. Prodigal Summer (eco-feminist)

Cinfhen Awesomeness!!! I was thinking of using the Anderson Cooper for the prompt #ByAJournalist 🤓great idea for #WeatherTerm 🌈 3y
Cinfhen I own this one and wasn‘t aware it would work for #BlackOwnedPublishing - thanks for sharing 3y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Cinfhen Thanks! Of course I‘m also trying to pick thing from #MountTBR because I own sooooooo many unread books. Thinking of just doing our challenge and finishing #readingasia next year. I might just start at the top of my bookcases and read in order. LOL 3y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Cinfhen This list of Black-centric Imprints of major publishing houses helps open the possibilities up really wide. https://aalbc.com/writers/publishers.php I just picked the first imprint on the list and looked at their offerings until I found one I already own. Simple! (edited) 3y

Pickpick

Bk10 of #JumpStart2021 #PickYourPoison #ByAJournalist #AudiobookChallenge #AussieAuthor21 #Pageathon #CloakDaggerChal #ReadItAgainSam #PennyPerPage #362cents & #20in4 #readathon is done! A reread by audiobook again, it also has an interview with both the author & narrator at the end, which was brilliant. Her 3rd novel which isn‘t a Falk book,it‘s set on a QLD cattle station owned by 3 bros, until one is found dead, miles from his well stocked car.

Dan_1988 I‘ve heard a lot about this Jane Harper. Is she any good? 4y
Crazeedi @Dan_1988 I've really liked all her books, and eagerly waiting for her new one 4y
Dan_1988 @Crazeedi I will have to add her to the TBR pile then haha 4y

Andrew65 Well done 👏👏👏 4y
Jeg I‘ve loved her books but so far TheDry is my favourite. 4y
Lizpixie @Jeg have you seen the movie yet? The Dry is my favourite too and I was happily surprised by how good the movie was. Eric Bana was a great Falk👍 4y
Jeg Saw the movie and loved it. @Lizpixie 4y

That was a quick but depressing trip through a triple homicide in small town Victoria. In October 2014, Ian Jamieson stabbed his neighbor to death with a hunting knife before taking two shotguns & murdering the mans mother & stepfather. At first it seems like the sympathy was with the killer, before the author discovers a much more complicated story. The why is still unanswered. #NonFiction2019 #SomethingWithADeath #ReadHarder2019 #ByAJournalist

Riveted_Reader_Melissa Sounds dark and troubling and oddly fascinating.🤷‍♀️ 5y
