Solid four start read and a great start to the series! I will be picking the second book up very soon #19of2020
I'm sure that these are meant to be chapter books and we should be reading them over a couple of nights, but they are just short enough that DD and I tend to extend her bedtime reading and finish the book in one night. I am purchasing her the next four books in the series for Vday and Easter, and I won the seventh book from Early Reviewer program on #LibraryThing! #16of2020
This was a bit of a slog. I had trouble getting into it and trouble staying interested towards the end. #14of2020
I really liked the first season of You, but hadn't gotten around to starting the next season yet. This is seriously creepy. I think what makes it more creepy is the fact that things like this do happen in this world and any of the millions of missing people out there could have had something similar happen. I will read more from Kepnes. #10of2020
I am on a roll with another 5⭐️ read! Highly recommended! #8of2020
I enjoyed the audio of this and while it didn‘t blow my mind I did find I enjoyed and wanted to keep listening #7of2020 🎧
I love it when something I am reading completely tricks me and I don't see it coming. I will read more from Michaelides, when he writes more! #4of2020
This felt a lot longer than The Night Circus, and sometimes felt a little too long, but it definitely had all the same magical feels as the first novel by Morgenstern.
I did get lost at a couple spots and had to reread a few pages to figure out what was happening, but overall this was a four star read.
Anyone who hasn't tried reading the The Night Circus yet should immediately do that first! #3of2020
My insta friends voted for me and I guess I‘m reading the new King first! Perhaps I should reread A Handmade‘s Tale before starting The Testaments? #StephenKing #MargaretAtwood #newbooklove
Reading this the second time on audio and loving it. I‘m not prepared for it to end!
Life has gotten in the way of Litsy posting but I‘m slowly trying to come back. This was a five star read for me and the second book from Beukes‘ that I enjoyed! 5 🌟 #44of2019 #PopSugarprompt32
I am really enjoying these stories although the repetition of information from the previous books is a bit too much, as well as too much educational information about the land, time and animals. The story gets bogged down at times with just too much extras, but the story itself is still wonderful and captivating. If I didn't love the story and characters so much the extras would ruin it and possibly cause me not to continue. 3.5🌟 #108of2018
I am really enjoying this series and the characters that Auel has created, however, this one was way too long and too full of information about the animals, land and time frame. There were pages upon pages that read like an encyclopaedia instead of a novel and I ended up skipping forward to avoid the large sections that were information and not story. The story itself is still great and I've already started the next in the series.

Empty house today means relaxing time to finish my book!! I am slowly working my way through #JeanMAuel series #Earthschildren #clanofthecavebear and I finished book two #TheValleyOfHorses a few days ago and jumped right into book three #TheMammothHunters. Such a great series and I can totally see why it made it onto the #GreatAmericanRead list! 🖤 Books #104of2018 and #105of2018 📚 🐶 💚
Enjoyable and fun. My daughter liked Captain Underpants a little more but she was very exciting about the instruction in the back that show how to draw Dog Man and Petey. #103of2018 📚 🐶 💚
I borrowed this once and let it expire and never went back until I saw it on the Great American Read list. I wish I hadn‘t waited this long as I loved it! I particularly enjoyed the descriptions of their surroundings from that time period and the ways they survive and enjoy life in such an unforgiving climate. I need to know what happens next to Ayla and I'll be grabbing the second book soon! #GreatReadPBS #GARbongo #102of2018
I really loved Cariger‘s Parasol Protectorate and the Custard Protol series but I‘ve had to bail on this one. It‘s too YA silly for my current mood 😢
This was absolutely thrilling! Sci-fi isn't really my go to genre and I would have never thought a thriller about quantum physics and alternate reality would be so thrilling and enjoyable. This was a five star read for me and I highly recommend it!

I put off reading this as I thought it was going to be too scary for nights when I was home alone but once I started it on a sunny afternoon I couldn't stop reading it at night as well. I didn't end up finding it too scary but instead just the right amount of creepy and intriguing. I thought this was very well done and I didn't guess most of the plot line, which made me quite happy!

This was just as fun and action filled as the previous books. I really like Rue and I am looking forward to seeing what she gets into next!

Bailed. Just couldn‘t get into it ☹️
Another entertaining installment from Dav Pilkey. My 4yo really liked this one but asked to switch to a different kind of chapter book next. She has picked Dog Man (which is kind of the same but different character lol) #97of2018
At the completion of White Oleander I have now completed the Pop Sugar Challenge for 2018! Yahoo!! 😁😁 #PopSugar #PopSugar2018
White Oleander is not something that I would normally pick up for myself, which is why I really enjoyed taking part in the Pop Sugar Challenge. The challenge made me reach outside my normal genres and find books that I ended up really enjoying, and some I really loved. This was one that will stick with me for a while. It was beautiful, sad, dark and very engrossing. Recommended 4.5🌟

I‘m not sure why I kept putting off reading this one. I chose it for Pop Sugar Prompt 42, A cyberpunk book, and it‘s the second last one I need to finish to end the challenge. I‘m almost glad that I kept putting it off as now I only have to wait two months until the sequel is released! This is one of those books that I wish I could finish and pick up the next one right away! 4🌟

I've seen reviews that compare this series to Lord of the Rings, so of course I had to give it a shot! While I really liked the main character and his story, I found the end less than satisfactory. At 18 hours of audio it felt a touch long winded and for the first book in the series it didn't leave me with the urge to run out and grab the next book to find out what happens. I imagine at some point I will continue with it but no rush #94of2018 🎧
I picked this one purely to complete a Pop Sugar Prompt (Author with the same name as me) and I didn't expect to love it as much as I did. While it isn't anything that's going to knock your socks off, it was a page turner for me and I was happily surprised at how interesting, and honestly a little disturbing, it was. Recommended to anyone who loves a page turning thriller. 3.75🌟 #93of2018 📚🖤
Beartown made me teary eyed at the pharmacy waiting room but Us Against You made me bawl my eyes out in my living. Thankfully my husband was not home at that time to mock me! I don't know how Backman can take a subject like young men playing hockey in a small town and completely break my heart with it. He has very quickly become one of my favourite authors and I can't wait to pick up more of his books! 5🌟 #92of2018
I told myself after reading A Man Called Ove that I needed to stop reading Backman's books while in public. I seem to have forgotten that and that's how I found myself sitting in the pharmacy waiting room with tears in my eyes. This packs an emotional punch that I was not prepared for. Excellent 4.5🌟

Despite my reluctance to pick up the last two books in the series, I ended up really enjoying this! Full of action and emotions and I found myself needing to find out what was going to happen. Unfortunately there is one more book planned so I have to wait to find out the final outcome. Check out the series website www.enterthelibrary.com

Our latest bedtime chapter book was Ursula LeGuin‘s Catwings. I thought it was very sweet and a decent size at only four medium length chapters. I‘ll be picking up the next three books as well as my 4yo enjoyed the “flying cat book”.
Do you ever just pick up a book and realize that while there is nothing really wrong with it, you just don't like it? This is how I felt reading this one. It has all the elements that I normally enjoy in a crime novel but I found my mind wandering while I read it and the pacing was a little slow. I've heard really good things about this author's most recent novel and I've really wanted to try her stuff and I still intend to. 2.5🌟 #87of2018
My 4yo really liked this and we managed to read three chapters each night at bedtime because the chapters weren‘t too long. When we got to the end she saw the page of #MercyWatson books available and asked me to find the next one at the library for tomorrow 💙💙3.5🌟
This is one of those series that I enjoy but am semi ambivalent about. I like the characters and story line and I want to know what happens in the end, but I somehow have to force myself to pick up the next book. Once I'm into it I have enjoyed them and not wanted to put them down but then find myself putting off reading the next book. I'll be starting the 4th right away so as not to give myself any distractions from finishing the series #86of2018
In my world of books it is very sad when I find a new series that I adore and then find out it has very few books in it. This is how I feel coming to the end of this awesome series. At only five books I really want more! I‘ll be picking up some of her other books that occur in the same world and can only hope that they are as great! 4.5🌟 #85of2018 #blameitonlitsy
I am really loving this series and I‘m sad that I only have one book left! I‘ll be checking out Carriger‘s related books as well and perhaps even a Manga? #84of2018 #ParasolProtectorate
This is historical fiction about the “Filles de Roi” that came from France to Canada in the 1600‘s. Full review here https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2449590642 #83of2018 4🌟 #PopSugar44
I've enjoyed a few of Crichton's book so I wasn't surprised that I really enjoyed this one as well. While I'm not usually a big fan of the movie making big changes from the book I was happy with a few of the changes that had been made, especially the character of Lex. She was such a ridiculous child and I didn't think it was believable that anyone could be such a brat in the middle of being chased by dinosaurs! #82of2018
