“Dog man was the greatest cop ever”
This is another book that I would encourage reluctant readers stories as it‘s very easy to read and many students will like the books content. This is not a book I would use for a full class lesson though.

While I could see young boys enjoying this style of book, I myself did not. The illustrations fit the theme and it was a good example of a graphic novel, it just wasn't for me.
This can be used in the classroom to encourage reluctant readers and make reading fun through its engaging visuals and humor. Teachers can also facilitate discussions on themes like friendship and responsibility, prompting students to create their own superhero stories or illustrations.
“Dog Man" by Dav Pilkey is a hilarious and action-packed graphic novel that follows the adventures of a part-dog, part-man superhero. With witty humor and engaging illustrations, it captivates young readers while promoting themes of friendship and bravery. The story is fast-paced and full of heart, making it a fantastic choice for reluctant readers.
Follow the adventures of Dogman, part dog, part man, as he battles villains and saves the day.
(graphic novel) the author's playful art and humor engage young readers, making it a great entry point into graphic novels
“Sometimes, being a hero means being a little silly!”
This book is perfect for kids because it‘s filled with funny moments and exciting adventures. The relatable themes of friendship, bravery, and doing the right thing encourage young readers to embrace their uniqueness.
This fun series follows Dog Man, who was created when a police officer‘s head was sewn onto a dog‘s body. Together, they face villains and take on hilarious adventures.
I kept seeing this book series, so I had to find out why everyone is so obsessed with it. I can see why kids would love it, it matches their type of humor. I was entertained, but I only thought it was okay, nothing I would particularly seek out. But it seems like it would be great for a lot of kids, especially the reluctant readers.
Henry and I were on our way out the door heading to speech therapy, and the mailman pulled up with Henry's pre-ordered Dog Man book. He was so excited he finished before we even got there.
This book is so silly and gross. I loved it. I brought this home from the library. My daughter (15) said, “Wait! When you said Dog Man, I thought you were talking about some weird fantasy novel, not THESE! These are low-key really funny.” I agree. I was even making my husband look at panels that made me laugh audibly. Just good fun. My favorite bit was: *ring ring* Hello? There‘s been a jail break! Where? At the jail! Oh. So dumb. 🤣🤣🤣
Rats!!! I unwittingly created the greatest cop of ever!!!!!
I liked how dog man combined two different characters, it showed perspective in a way that was easy for children to understand. It is a hero vs villan aspect between Petey the cat and Dog man
A awesome graphic novel series perfect for kid The bright and funny comics make reading a enjoyable even for those who usually don't like books. Common themes include friendship, teamwork, and doing good deeds. It's not only entertaining but also teaches important lessons.
When your sister gets it! I‘m building my classroom library and we‘ve hit the jackpot with these gently used books. Praying my scholars love them.
My 7 year old has discovered Dog Man and is *obsessed* - all he wants to do is read! 🥰 I had to try it out and see for myself what all the fuss was about. It's very silly, with lots of gross humor. I can see why he likes it lol
Reading has really clicked with Lane in the last couple months and he is so excited about it! The kids usually have a half hour or so of quiet playtime while I read before bed on weeknights and then we read stories together. Lately, he has been choosing to join me and read together, which makes me soooooo happy! #raisingreaders
Fun series written by the creator of Captain underpants. Would be great for a younger audience.
Graphica. These series is from the creator of the Captain underpants series. It is about a crimefighting half man half dog. I myself am not a big fan of graphica but I enjoyed the idea of a crime fighting dog man. I also really like the illustrations and action that was present throughout the book.
Well yes, I suppose that‘s true…but dogs are also afraid of…vacuum cleaners!
Is the perfect book for students living mystery but is not ready for a scary mystery yet. I definitely laughed out loud while reading.
The Adventures of Dog Man, published in 2016 was a funny read! Seemed entertaining for children as they go through the story solving the different mysteries. This would keep them engaged and teach problem solving skills.
This is one of my favourite books ever! It is a funny, quick and easy read. for those who like comics, It is really entertaining series and I would highly recommend it!

Dog bites, sketches, gotta make this book last.
5✨ I have been having a really bad week. So I needed some good laughs. I am very glad I had this to enjoy and give me a good laugh.
My nephews tried to get me to read this when it came out but it was @Lindy 's review that finally did it 😁 Turns out I'm still a 10-year-old who will never get over silly humour. I truly enjoyed this! There's even a hotdog revolution that made me think, What would Ignatius Reilly do? Plus, I spent some happy minutes on my non-existent drawing skills sketching Dog Man using the supplementary material at the end. I struggled with the paw-hands 😂
I wouldn‘t go so far as to claim this graphic novel made me scoot my butt on the carpet with joy, but the infectious silliness kept me chuckling throughout. It‘s by the creator of Captain Underpants, which should give you an idea of the content. #AllAges #comics #graphicnovel #kidlit
Some of these jokes are definitely aimed at an adult audience. 😂
I bought four volumes of Dog Man to donate to my sister‘s Grade 2 class and decided to read one. It‘s hilarious!
Autographed for my son, the guy Dav Pilkey writes for, a first edition (of that matters anymore) copy of Dog Man. Totally cried and got starstruck getting this.
We‘re on day 4 of the school‘s annual readathon fundraiser. The girls have raised the same amount of money but Genevieve has for sure read way more than her sister. She has just discovered that she actually really loves Dogman. She read it the whole way to dance, and in the hallway as she waited. She was even a tad late to class because she just couldn‘t stop reading. 😆
👍
SUCCESS!!! They had no idea what was coming and my daughter didn't even know this was a thing!!! #DogmanTheMusical #DavPilkey
