OMG! I loved this book! It‘s like a dark fantasy romance, where you‘re rooting for villain of the story, but is he really a villain? I loved this world and the characters. I‘m so glad I read this.

Unbeknownst to me this is a spin off of her Kingdom of the Wicked series which I‘ve never read. It looks like it has characters from that world, but can be read as a standalone. It hinted at some stuff that happened, but explained enough to not be lost

5feet.of.fury Ooooh! My audio hold just came in from Libby, it‘ll be my next audiobook, so I‘m glad to see a good review! …I also have not read Kingdom of the Wicked & didn‘t know it was related- whoops! 2d

Low pick. Real people do not act like this…

This is a witchy romance but the male MC is a skeptic. This book has fake dating, but bad fake dating. They are trying to make other people they used to date jealous.

The MC and her family work at a witchy shop they used to own, but their mom sold.. I did enjoy this book a lot of things that happened were so weird and not realistic at all. But this is a witchy book, so I guess it‘s not realistic.

This was a good, quick read. I love how often Nancy meets a guy in each case and then you never hear about them again (or I guess they might, this is only book 7). Also, it‘s crazy how people keep accusing Nancy for doing wrong in front of the police expecting them to just listen. I‘m really enjoying reading these.

This was just okay for me. I listened on audio and I didn‘t really like the male MCs voice/accent. It kept taking me out of the story. Wes is an alchemist looking for an internship and shows up at Maggie‘s house. Her mother is away but she invites him in anyway where they slowly build a friendship. This a different world where there is a lot of different racisms based on their backgrounds and $75 is more money than they‘ve ever seen.

Sigh. I wanted to enjoy this a lot more than I actually did. The story was great. Emily goes to a town to look for the faerie folk. She gets enmeshed into the town and their troubles. Her colleague Wendell shows up and definitely helps her with the town and to make friends, even though all she wants to do is read her books and spend time with her dog. Something was just a little off for me, which stopped me from loving it and just liking it.

I wasn‘t sure if I was going to like this one because I didn‘t really enjoy the last couple of Emily Henry books. But I really loved this one! I loved Miles and Daphne. I loved all the exploring of Michigan too! I don‘t know if all the places are real, but I wished they were!

This was my #doublespin for May

monalyisha Yes! The “Vacation” book was absolutely a low point for me, too. Glad things are back in action. 5d

I loved this book! I‘m not surprised because I love Leigh Bardugo, but I am surprised I enjoyed this story. Set in Spain, a servant has “magical powers” and draws attention to herself. She‘s also Jewish and has to hide that, so she doesn‘t attract the inquisition. You follow a few people‘s points of view but the storytelling unfolded beautifully.

It was fun to be back in this world! I don‘t remember Jane from the last book but that doesn‘t mean anything. Jane is a governess for a family holding a symposium and the host ends up dead. She has to work with Adrian to solve the murder before anyone else dies.

This is a historical mystery with romance. The mystery was really easy for me to solve.. but I enjoyed the book.

Scochrane26 I think she was at the picnic gathering in the end before the action scene. It was a blip but enough to introduce her. I didn‘t know this was out now, will have to get it. I could use a light read after my last several. 2w

My indie bookstore is starting a romance book club and this is the May and first pick. I‘ve read an Olivia Dade book before and enjoyed it but this one was LONG! It‘s 400 pages and pretty heavy, so the romance doesn‘t start until really a little more than halfway through. I get it as part of the story, the MC was dealing with a lot, but still.

But I did enjoy this one and am interested in reading the other books in this world once written.

Listened to my first audiobook through Spotify! I was hooked on this book in the beginning but I felt like it petered out towards the end.

Vampires and werewolves hate each other and each take a child to reserve peace. There is also some hacking (penetrator) in this book but it was pretty minor. 2nd romance this month that I‘ve read that this was the woman‘s job.

I‘ve read better fantasy romances, but this one was enjoyable.
