Super cute mystery/romance. This was a book club almost pick (we settled on something else). Not sure where my friend found this but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This was a lovely and fun book to read, it wasn‘t groundbreaking or shocking but it was a fun ride. A few chapters into this I immediately put Freya‘s previous book (“The Lost Ticket”) on hold at my library. I‘ll definitely look forward to anything else she writes 👍
Dorothy is initially painted as a nosey, old bat but she quickly grew on me and I couldn‘t help but find her quirks endearing. A full cast of characters thrust together after several tragedies. It somewhat reminded me of the book Anxious People by Fredrick Backman. I really enjoyed the ending. Book #43 in 2024
Oh Dorothy - you and your notebook.
What a delightful, sweet, heartwarming, as well as heartbreaking read with lovable, eccentric characters that will make you laugh and make you cry.
If you are a fan of Freya Sampson‘s books, you won‘t want to miss this book. 5/5
