My #indiebookstoreday purchases- my sons 2 books missing from picture because although he swore he had to study for calculus while home this weekend he grabbed them and disappeared. (even left his gf studying for her finals at the table!!)

Yay! Love the small Chicagoland chain Barbara‘s Bookstore!

It‘s #indiebookstoreday so I had to make a run to my happy place. The tagged book was a recommendation from Halli, one of the booksellers at Park Road Books. I know nothing about it other than Halli said it scared her so badly she couldn‘t take her dogs outside at night. Yes, please. 😂😂 (Not pictured is the new Veronica Speedwell that I bought for my mom). The ARC of Fairies was a gift-with-purchase. 🥰

Why I 99% of the time have my book with me, Reason No. 472👆 Got home from grocery shopping and the skies opened up as soon as I turned onto our block. Welp. I‘m not dragging in a week‘s worth of groceries in the rain, so I guesssssssssss I have to stay here until it passes 😇🤪 Also, get out there and support #indiebookstoreday today!!

Okay, who bought books on #IndependentBookstoreDay?
My plan had been to stay home that day but this was me getting coffee ‘LOOKING‘ at books. I did pretty well.

I‘m so behind on reviews, behind on lists, decision-making, everything. I‘ve been reading quite a bit, considering an online course if I can get financial aid (my brain is turning to mush).

Oh and I have to decide on meniscus repair surgery for my left knee🤦🏻‍♀️

#Indiebookstoreday My local indie did a nice thing , yes , Saturday was officially the day but they issued a coupon that was good 3 days for those of us who can‘t get there Saturday & aren‘t into crowds! I have many copies/translations of Flowers of Evil @vivastory commented about it so…tagged book looks like a tough read, but had a rave review on a shelf talker from one of the staff.I do love indies esp. ones with staff picks !
