The Fury | Alex Michaelides
post image

When I first saw the cover for The Fury, I thought it was by the same author as Crossings—same first name, and #similarcovers with the concentric circles and setting in the background. I enjoyed The Silent Patient, and I might start this one soon.

Ruthiella Me too! 😆 And the fact that the authors have the same first name didn‘t help. (edited) 11mo

No need to adjust your screens, you ARE seeing double.

However beyond the eerily similar covers and titles these books have nothing in common! They may look like they belong to the same series but they couldn't be more different.
Set somewhere in the Middle East this modern fairytale borrows from Persian mythology and feels both familiar and fresh.

tjwill Wow! That‘s crazy! #similarcovers 4y
Scochrane26 I‘ve noticed there‘s huge trend of snakes on the cover this year. 4y

I love it when my Litsy feed complements each other completely by serendipity...these posts were back to back as soon as I opened my feed.

Love it! Thanks for the Litsy smile @MelissaS & @AllenTStClair

Cover Serendipity!👍

AllenTStClair 🤣😂🤣😂 That‘s hilarious. 6y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @AllenTStClair Right! What were the odds of that? 6y
AllenTStClair @Riveted_Reader_Melissa Not very high. 🤣 I did point out to Chase that the “person falling through the air” book cover was becoming pretty common. 🤣 6y

Eggs Good one! 6y
mcipher I love when this happens - so weird! 6y
Reviewsbylola This kind of annoys me—is it that hard to find a different picture?! 6y
lynneamch @Mccall0113 I saw Kali speak at an event at Dragonfly Books in Decorah, Iowa. She said when she discovered her publisher had selected a stock photo that had already been used, she wasn't happy. But, thought it could work to her advantage as Rae was a popular, more well-known author. Rae's book was recommended to me by my fave author of 6y
Jess7 Omg! I‘ve never seen anything like this! 6y
RavenclawOwlCat My cover of “Hard Twisted” is the same as well. 4y

After being underwhelmed by Roomies I was a bit wary of this one but this one gave me all of the feels. Definitely a #romantsy that I will reread over and over again.

In #homage to Jane Austen, I give you a picture of two of my Austen related books in my collection. Harman writes about the fanaticism over Austen, using what we know of Jane‘s life and Jane‘s overall legacy to tell Jane‘s full story.

Growing Older examines the art of aging in Jane‘s novels. #aprella

tjwill I thought that Growing Older was The Book of Speculation at first. It‘s weird how similar the two covers are. Could that be the same picture with some photo editing? 🤔 7y
Librarybelle @tjwill Yes! When books have similar covers, I do a double take. 7y

Every Note Played | Lisa Genova

Pickpick

When Richard is diagnosed with ALS (Motor Neurone Disease), he returns to the family home to ex-wife Karina. We follow the progression of the disease, as Richard resolves his relationships with his family. It's a story of love, regrets & music, & the choices we live with.

I wasn't at all sure if this was something I'd want to read, but Genova's writing feels simple, honest and effective. I look forward to reading her other books.

rockpools This was an ARC from #readersfirst 7y
TrishB This one is my fav of hers . They are all quite similar, but always well written. 7y
rockpools @TrishB I think I need a few books of unremitting silliness next, but I'll definitely come back to this one! 7y
See All 7 Comments
TrishB Yes, definitely not silliness in that one! I cried a couple of times. 7y
tjwill This cover reminded me of another I‘ve read. The titles are even similar. #similarcovers 7y
rockpools @TrishB I think I was worried I'd find them mawkish, but I really like her approach. 7y
rockpools @tjwill There's a definite similarity! 7y
