Started yesterday.
I‘ve recommended this book to so many people. It‘s short and packs a big punch (and, it doesn‘t get the buzz I think it deserves).
The other “C” book that was really fantastic was Columbine.

Sophie and Barry find themselves stuck on an island. They don‘t necessarily get a long at first but quickly realise that they need each other for survival.
I felt like I was on an island with the characters while reading this book. There were glimpses of the present day throughout it and I kept on thinking of how it will end…
I adored this book! The author is a wordsmith! It felt like the story flowed as easy as waves upon the shore. I literally could have been in a hammock beneath a coconut grove while reading this. A story of 2 ppl from completely different worlds, end up deserted together on an unknown Island. The words were beautiful, and the story had me. The ending was perfect. I could not love it more. A perfect summer read.
Ok so still ADORING this book, BUT I have a bone to pick. These 2 have been living off of bananas for a year now, and still no mention of constipation or bloating? Come now 🤪
Not too far into this book yet, but I‘m immediately gripped. Eek at the Oceanic White Tip Shark scene!!!! In love with the way this story is narrated, sort of like Stranger Than Fiction style. Im in love with the character set up. I‘m in it, be back with you when it‘s finished for final thoughts ❤️
Starting this today on my beachfront paradise getaway. I couldn‘t think of a more perfect beach read 😘
Four people fly to an island near Tahiti and only two make it to a small atoll after their plane goes down. Barry and Sophia learn to live on this deserted island. Great read.
I don't know that I've ever read a castaway story before. 🤔 This is a tale of survival and resilience and love. I enjoyed it.
I've encountered more random Colorado mentions in this month's reading than I usually come across in 6 months. I love it!
Sophie and Barry didn't say #letsgetlost they just happened to be on the same plane and the sole survivors when it's downed in the middle of the South Pacific. A bittersweet 4⭐

This book takes an old story and writes it with a fresh voice.🏝🍌
Thanks to all who wished me a Happy Birthday yesterday. I went birthday shopping for myself yesterday at Boswell Book Company on the east side of Milwaukee. While there were a lot of books that I could have bought, I settled on these two. I also found a pair of book nerd socks and a mug with the store's logo on it. It was a good day. 😊
#BeauTEAfulBooks - this is the first one that I‘ve received for our mail book and tea club! And I thoroughly enjoyed it!! Great pick, @TerriGreen ! And I‘m glad @debthmpsn enjoyed it, too!! I love how the author made such a cliched trope feel fresh!!
I have not been able to put this book down all day. It snared me within the first few pages and wouldnt let me go and then it ripped my heart out and the character‘s pain became mine. Jebus. Talk about exceptional writing. This is definitely a story that will stick with you. #beauTEAful books @t
Chapter 2 opens with a short, very descriptive account of my biggest nightmare and fear. I‘ve dived right into this book and read half of it this morning. Now I have to go adult and work on our bathroom renovation. #IdRatherBeReading #BeauTEAful book @TorieStorieS @TerriGreen
After a couple hectics weeks on the road I‘m finally home and opened my #beauTEAful tea lovers postal book club. Excited to read the book and sip some tea.
@ReadingManda @TorieStorieS @TerriGreen hope you are enjoying your book and tea!
Yay! I so, so loved CASTLE OF WATER, and our discussion was, I think, such a good one, though we all felt as if we could have talked and talked about this gorgeous, complex book. Stick around for the book pairings, and teachers, listen for the classroom connections at the end.
Finished this one beside the pool today. Oh my word, sooo good! I don‘t want to say too much, just read it ❤️
The only thing that kept me from bursting into tears at this part of #CastleofWater was the fact that I‘m surrounded by other people on a plane.
I probably shouldn‘t be reading this on an airplane considering the setup...but here I go!

I loved this book about survivors stranded on a Polynesian atoll Island. He is American and she is French. The story throws in a timeline of what is happening around them from the past and from what they are missing back home. I think this may now be my favorite book from this year👍🏼🛶🐚🍌🐙🌴🌊
4.5/5
Let me preface this by saying I have a terrible fear of flying. Of course, a few chapters in, there is a plane crash. That was just the beginning of the anxiety that persisted throughout the remaining chapters. This a very intense (sometimes humorous) story about the struggles that the two survivors endure while trying to survive on a small, uncharted Pacific island.
Yet another castle book. After this, I only have one more book with “castle“ in the title on my TBR list.
Read this after listening to #ModernMrsDarcy podcast with guest Jamie Golden from #Popcast podcast. Based on the recommendation it did not disappoint a creative castaway retelling. Love, loss and survival this is one to be read again. #dogsoflitsy Bailey the Puggle.
Also a new Christmas gift I‘m excited about. 😍 #18toreadin2018
I knew I was going to love this book as soon as I picked it up. 5/5 stars from me!
This book! You need to read it now. After a slump of reading blah, mediocre books, this one reminded me why I love to read. You‘ll fall in love with the main characters from start to finish and will want to learn to speak French if you don‘t already know how. I cannot wait for Huckelbridge‘s next novel!
Castle of Water by Dane Huckelbridge proved to be the perfect pick me up from my fall slump. Light and fun and just a little sappy, I enjoyed this debut about an unlikely pair stranded on a Polynesian atoll. Full review at: https://novelvisits.com/castle-of-water-by-dane-huckelbridge-review/
I finished this book last week. After the first chapter i didnt think i was going to enjoy it, but after seeing so many people on bookstagram loving it, i kept reading. So glad i did.,it was pretty good! And that ending!! 😢 very emotional... #castleofwater
As the story unfolded, page by page, I began to lose myself. Slowly at first, but then - out of nowhere - I was head-over-heels for everything about this book.
This is a beautiful story of survival, love, death, and grief.
Castle Of Water is basically a modern castaway story with a twist, and I loved every single moment of it. The prose is just wonderful and combined with the well developed and loveable characters you are definitely in for a treat. An emotional rollercoaster, in the best possible way!
5/5 stars

In this #debutnovel, we are presented with a new twist on the stranded-on-a-desert-island storyline. Even with a few implausible situations and events, the relationship between the two main characters engaged me throughout the novel. Recommend. #fiction #debut #debutauthor.
This book follows the story of two castaways who are the only survivors of a plane crash. They must figure out how to get by on an island without many resources. Loved getting to know these characters and worried along with them as they faced more and more obstacles. (Plus, I realized I would be pretty much doomed if this ever happened to me!). ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
