The Mystery of Mary | Grace Livingston Hill

Pickpick

Read this for #TBRTarot this month. It was on my kindle. I think I got this because I recognized the author as one my mom used to read ages ago. This is a 1912 version of a romantic suspense novel. Mary is a damsel in distress who is rescued by Tyron, who falls in love with her. Mary does stand up on her own though, which made me enjoy this much more than I thought I would. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Don't let the serene, bright, sunny cover fool you! This story is tumultuous and dark, just like the storm clouds brewing in the distance. The writing gave me a creepy, unsettling vibe and the constant feeling of an ax about to drop. A totally engrossing, compulsive page turner by the talented Canadian author. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #netgalley #goodreads #seasonalreadingchallenge #damselindistress
