pickThough Charlie‘s frequent worries over big family decisions seemed to take away from the actual mystery, I had fun getting back into Charlie and Diesel‘s latest case. And yes, librarians are all about free food and drinks at a conference, especially with very strict per diems (I know that from experience).
An interesting twist at the end that I did not see coming!

A nasty, cruel boss, terrible department heads, and murders keep Charlie and Diesel pretty busy at the library. Sad to say a few characteristics of the murder victim are characteristics I witnessed in my library career. Yikes! Great character progression, and another good series entry!
Most of my sidekicks hovered in the background as I finished it.
so-soI‘m still going with this series. This mystery was okay, but I appreciated Diesel‘s origin story at the end.
pickI got a kick out of the fact that this one seemed to be inspired by Nancy Drew (and not Silence of the Lambs as I had feared.) The fictional Nancy-esque series featured in this book even had a main character that got knocked out all the time 🤣
pickAnother great addition in the series, and a perfect palate cleansing read. Charlie and Diesel are entangled in a diary and secrets that date back to the American Civil War. The bonus short story, in which Charlie finds Diesel at the library, reminded me of my real life rescue of Zeke from my car engine at the library so long ago. I made #Zeke model for the picture! #CatsOfLitsy
pickI greatly enjoy this cozy mystery series featuring Charlie the librarian and his cat Diesel. This series entry features a children‘s author whose books are very similar to Nancy Drew (perfect #NancyDrewBR tie in). Book collecting and the antics of obsessed collectors is comically explored. And, of course, murder happens. Fast read with entertaining characters.
pickThese books are great for when I need something easy to read. This one took place in Asheville, NC but it was the same old story about a guy who brings his cat everywhere and solves mysteries.
pickThis series is growing on me. Charlie is still kind of a judgmental busybody in this book but it kind of works. I skipped a few so eventually I‘ll go back to the beginning.
pickCharlie and friends are having a week away with their book club to discuss gplden age murder mysteries. Naturally, people in the hoteI start turning up dead.
Always pleased to visit Charlie Harris and Diesel again.
